Well, I never thought that would happen, but England are playing Trinidad here in Nuremberg!!
For cheap flights, get yourself to www.airberlin.com and you'll get tickets from Stansted from about £52 return. Mexican, Iranian, Japanese, Croatian, Ghanaian or American Villans are also heartily welcome to meet up for a beer and bratwurst while they're over!
Other than the England game, there's a good chance that Portugal will play Holland or Argentina here too. Get in!
See you in June fellow Freunds des Fußballs!
Nuremberg- the spiritual home of , :oink: and

You could change it to "Dont reply to people who tried to help with a letterhead for my son's footy team"
-
I remember being embarrassed when I took my young nephew to a game, we stood on the left as I normally did, and he hadn't told me he had brought an air horn with him.
All very well, but it was one of those crappy little ones that made a shitty squeak rather than a good loud blast like the proper bigger air horns.
I remember everybody taking the piss and laughing at the noise it made, I really was dying out there, but didn't have the heart to take it off him!
And the case for the defence rests there, m'lud.
THE RIGHT SIDE!

It was dark when I was there -
For the stadiums I've been to, the Veltins Arena, home of (you guessed it!) Schalke takes some beating. I was there for the 2003 Champions League Final, and it was incredible. A bit modern for my liking but out of all the modern stadiums, was the best for me.

Ask me again at the end of next week.
-
Yep. Merson!

If anybody votes for anyone but Taylor they are mad.
I can't Townsend, arrogant cockney knob, he was distinctly average for us.
taylors best moment for me was the league cup final goal vs Leeds. What a strike!
It'll be a bleedin long time before we sign the captain of Chelsea gain, though
-
Wasnt Daley a right winger? Hence the number 7 shirt? And Townsend was a central player, although left footed.
For me Froggatt should be in there. The amount of goals he set up for Deano and Dalian was incredible, and we've never had anyone like him since. If Gareth Barry had more pace he'd be an astounding prospect, though.
-
None of them. All crap.
-
I guess this is only going to be the Premeri League years. Otherwise Nigel Spink will be on the phone from his office at St Andrews wanting to know what's going on! Although he did feature in the first season of the Premier League, didnt he? Him and the late great Les Sealey!
Will there be a Baros option when we get to the strikers?
-
Steak and kidney pie and chips. I'd sell my feet for one of those tonight In fact Indian and Chinese takeaways are non-existent here too.
-
There you go. Shit or bust next week.
-
I'd back you on that, especially re. Distin, but it seems our opinions of Baros differ. That's football.
-
Oh god i hope your wrong now John
What's that mean? Don't you want us to sign new players?
-
No-one believes WM when they say something good (like we might be after him), everyone believes them when they say something bad.
Strange logic...
-
I agree completely with JC. And it would certainly be an Ellisian "silence the critics" move á la the signings of Angel and Saunders in the past.

Oh and Porto and Liverpool are really the best teams in europe and has nothing to do with luck!
Every team/player has a lucky competition. Ask him to do it for a season and he cannot, playing in a liverpool team where he was bascily the only striker playing he was struggling to reach double figures!!!
I didnt mean he was top scorer in the Champions League, he was their top scorer, period.
Applying the same logic on the Porto/Liverpool thing, Villa weren't the best team in Europe in 1982. Still, we beat the team who supposedly were the best team in the final. So what does that tell you?
-
In my opinon we should be trying to get Baros(even though is shite)
Yep, top scorer at Euro 2004 and then top scorer for the European Champions in 2004-5. And he's still young. Sounds crap to me. Why don't we ever get linked with anybody good, like that new fella Liverpool have just bought
-
I dreamt we'd signed Kevin Phi... oh...
-
Anyway, I think I'll see Nuremburg when I go to Germany next year for World Cup. I may meet many more of you there.
You're all welcome. Well, I dunno if I can accommodate all 1700 of you in my apartment, but you know what I mean. Anyone coming over is welcome to meet up for a beer and I'll do what I can to help out with travel info and hotels etc.
-
I've not met anyone. Who the flip ever comes to Nuremberg? Might be a different story next summer though, eh, glorymates?!
-
What, not Baros :winkold:
Not this summer, no. We blew it last year. Just for a change we were too slow off the mark
England playing in Nuremberg

Bummer- not only missing the live games, but in a different time zone too! I was in Boston for the last World Cup and set my alarm for about 4am for the first England match, as advertised on TV.
I duly woke up, turned the TV on and it wasn't shown in that area- it was Shrek instead! Although if you see Shrek this time it might still be an England match
