  1. 8 million is ridiculous.

But paying this for Ashley Young may well have set a bench mark for other clubs to fleece us.

Only if you think Taylor is anywhere near young, which he isnt.

Exactly. Not only that, I doubt there is much potential for improvement in Taylor as I think he is about as good as he ever will be.

CV will cream himself if we did sign him though!

  2. Taylor is not worth £8 million. At best he is a £5 million player, especially when you consider that the fee Pompey were rumoured to offer for Barry was around the £4.5 million mark.

If we spend £8 million on him so be it, as long as it doesn't jeapourdise the purchase of other targets, which I am sure it won't!

  3. I feel that o`neill would not have let samuel go today if he wasnt going to bring in cover on the left maybe taylor is it and i am not being biased here but if i was taylor i would sign with villa. :D

Well Samuel wanted to leave and was out of contract so he wouldn't have stayed even if MON wanted him to so I would say this adds any weight to the rumour to be honest.

  4. Im struggling to understand this why does everyone seem to think Moore is the dogs bollocks??????

Because i just cant see it, definately can be improved upon and should be improved upon, imho

Because he's scored 9 goals in his last 25 games (16 starts, 9 sub) and he has the potential to be a major player, if you can't see that then that's not our problem.

Im not saying it was your problem i just wanted someone to explain to me why he is so good, whenever i have seen play he looks lazy, theres a reason why Bent is hot property and Luke Moore is not

I think that reason is simply the fact that Bent has largely avoided long term injuries and played every game. Luke has had some injury problems and has got much more competition than Bent.

I don't think he looks lazy at all on the pitch. Sometimes he looks bored but it doesn't stop him working on the pitch.

  5. If Gabby wants to go then there is not a lot the club can do about it. Look what happened when United came sniffing after Yorkey!!

The player has all the power, it does not matter if you are not a selling club, or how much money you have, because every top player wants to win trophies now, the promise that we will be challenging for CL in 2 - 3 years time will not pacify a young ambitious footballer.

Also if Gabby is currently on 18k a week at United he would double that!!

There is truth in the first part of what you say but I think the persuasive powers of MON and the current board as well as the fact that we are starting to show genuine ambition makes this scenario a fair bit different to the Dwight Yorke saga.

As for the last bit, Man United won't just double a players wages. They aren't Chelsea and won't pay "whatever it takes" for anyone. Look at Ballack for example.

  6. We'd be crazy to let Moore go in a deal to get Bent, what was Bent doing aged 21 exactly?, he was in the bloody championship, Luke has shown that he can score goals against the best this league has to offer and to just get rid of him would be disgraceful, for me Luke is just as good a finisher as Bent and has more individual skills!!, when he was injured people we're praying for his return but it seems a few people can't wait to see the back of him now, against Boro he had one half chance!!, Scored, against Bolton he had an even harder half chance, Scored!!, i believe with his shoulder full recovered he's gonna come back in pre-season and be on fire, imo he can be better than Defoe, Bent and Bellamy, he proved he can be a class act with what he did to Boro last season.

I never thought this would happen, ever, but I agree.

I would be confident of Moore getting at least 15 goals next season if played regularly so why spend money on Bent if it means letting him go. Having both of them is an altogether different proposition though.

  7. Have you seen the saves he's made for the past 2 seasons?....and the mistakes Sorenson's made!

The same could be said the other way round.

Having seen a lot more of Sorensen this season than Foster (obviously), I can think of one big mistake that Tommy has made resulting in a goal (Boro away), and can think of two for Foster just off the top of my head (Robinson's goal for Spurs, Vassell's goal for Man City). If I can think of those, I'm fairly sure there must be more.

    Every goalkeeper makes mistakes.

This is true and Sorensons mistakes are not why I would rate Foster above him. My reasons for doing so are based on aerial command, organisational ability and age. Sorenson is generally as good as most other top keepers in the world at the moment (including Foster) at shot stopping, he severely lacks in the other departments.

Personally, goal keeper is not a priority position to be replaed for me but if we are going to do it, Foster would be a good choice.

  8. And it is not opinions it's just pure bull to say that an unproven goalkeeper from Watford is superior than a proven national player from Denmark who's been called one of the best in the world by someone like Buffon. That just ain't right. It's like saying I'm better than Ronaldinho. It's simply just not true, not about opinions.

Completely different. Foster has played a full season in the Premiership and a full season in the Championship. That is enough to base an opinion on how good he is.

The latter part of the comment is unintelligent and absurd.

  9. I admit this is a poor example but im at work so cant type for long periods at a time.....If Sorenson had a great game but then made 1 mistake it would cost us the game. If Foster had a great game and made 1 mistake he would be still man of the match because they lost 4-0 anyway.

    Do you see my point?

I see your point but having seen Foster play he is about as good a shot stopper as Sorenson. However, he commands his area much more and plays with more confidence meaning that the defenders aren't as uncertain as to what he will do. Being 10 years younger too he will only improve. A much better option for the future a reasonably better option for the here and now!

  10. What would we do with Foster? He ain't better than Sörensen and if he don't want to sit on Uniteds bench, then why would he sit on ours?

If we don't bid for Sneijder now I think he's off to Valencia. I think that Ajax will lower the fee so it fits Valencias if there's no higher bid.

I am a Sorenson fan but Foster is a far superior keeper and about 10 years younger so will only improve.

Totally bullsh*t. He's not better than Sörensen. Not in a million years.

An opinion is not bullsh*t so don't suggest otherwise. Perhaps you could intelligently respond as to why you believe this rather than respond in the manner you have done.
