  1. Teamtalk talk crap

The Premiership newcomers are confident the 24-year-old will put pen to paper despite competition from Aston Villa, Everton, Sunderland and West Ham.

It will be manager Steve Bruce's second summer signing after Arsenal midfielder Fabrice Muamba moved to St Andrews on a permanent after a successful loan spell.

The Parnaby deal is expected to be completed in the next 24 hours.

Former England Under-21 international Parnaby helped Boro to reach the UEFA Cup final 12 months ago.

He was first-choice right-back at the beginning of last season but struggled to command a regular first-team place during the second half of the campaign.

Now Parnaby, who can also play at centre-half and in midfield, is looking for a fresh challenge away from Teeside after rejecting a new contract.

Parnaby, whose father Dave is in charge of the Boro Academy, made a total of 127 first-team appearances for the club, scoring four goals, after progressing through the youth system.

He fits Bruce's criteria of being experienced but still young and with a hunger to prove himself all over again at Blues.

As if we would want a guy who is not good enough for Boro in our side

  2. So we are talking about signing Paul Robinson and Titus Bramble now?

Those are actually ten times worse than the worst signing under Ellis!

I think I have to leave this place for a while, this thread has become somewhat

addictive and we still haven't been properly linked with a single player. Sure

there is the Antunes-thing (which isn't confirmed) and the obvious Bellamy

link which has been there since last season but other than that it's just piss poor

journalists putting two and two together.

They are both far better than Michael Boulding and I would put Bramble on a par with UDLC. Robinson is a decent player too. I get your point though!

  3. I hope you are all sitting down because I've just been told, by a normally reliable source, that we are currently holding talks with Titus Bramble

That would concern me severely. If he is signed, which I sincerely doubt, then it can only be as a back up. Ridgewell is much better than him and much younger. If we sold him and replaced him with Bramble then I would be mystified. Still I don't believe it for a minute.

  4. If people are getting annoyed about our lack of transfer activity already then I think they have serious "issues" (diplomacy mode on).

Teams rarely make major in roads so soon after the season has ended. If by the end of July we have yet to make any signings then I will understand why people may begin to worry. Even then there will be a whole month left.

I would be keen for us to go for Scott Parker to be honest though.

  5. The transfer window precludes the registering of players with the FA at certain times not the actual signing/completion of transfers. Therefore, you can always sign players they just might not be able to be registered until the window opens. Effectively therefore we can sign players whenever we want.

As for Koumas, good player and would be a useful addition to the squad but I agree in that we need a DM not an AM.

  6. Ideally we would sign Jagielka who can play right and left back but that now appears unlikely. Not sure who else I would sign as cover at left back to be honest. Players like Baines would be decent but he is not better than Bouma and would expect to be playing so I don't see the point in signing him. We are not yet in the position where we can sign good quality players who will be happy to be a squad player in the way the top 4 can do.

  7. Taylor, in my opinion, is an average mid table Premiership player with an exceptional shot which improves his value and worth. He would provide useful cover at left back and left midfield but as I have said, I really doubt that he will leave Pompey. If he does, I really can't see Liverpool being in for him although he is a typical Liverpool signing as he is not a top 4 player.
