  1. I like Diop but can anyone throw any light as to why he cannot get in the Fulham team? Is it just injuries or is he someone else that has pissed off Coleman?
  2. As we have no game next Saturday, this should be a prime week to get a lot of business done.
  3. I saw a programme once, which featured Huntalaar (The Hunter) as he is known in Holland. He is the new Ruud Van N. Looks to be a complete striker. He would seriously be fantastic for us.
  4. Welcome General. It takes a lot of hard work to get a football club to win things consistantly. But you have just proved that it is "EASY" to communicate and get togetherness. It's little things like this that can make Villa formiddable again. It has been a long time since we could put the words Aston Villa, Hope and Smile in the same sentence. You look after us and we will look after you. Thank you Randy, General and the rest of the board.
  5. It sounds like Beckham may want to go to the states. Then he can play against players that he knows he will be better than. I think he has been a fantastic player, but not for me now thanks. I would like us to raid the U21's for our January sales. Bent, Milner, Reo-Coker and Richards. All positions that need filling now and all in struggling clubs. More importantly all have done well in the prem. Bent in particular has really impressed me. He has pace, is strong, knows where the next is (regularly) and can play up front on his own if MON wishes.
  6. Reo-Coker would be able to compete with Gav for the cruncher in midfield. I do like Gav but Reo-Coker has a better all round game. I would love SWP as well but on loan so we can still get the other four. Truth is that buying in January is not the best time to buy so MON might have to wait until the end of the season for certain players.
  7. Lets just buy most of the top under 21's. Bent, Richards, Milner, Reo-Coker. This covers centre forward, right back, either wing and central midfield. All English. All very good players. All good performers in the premiership and would equal approx 25m.
  8. I thinks that is a line up that is potentially realistic for next summer, not January.
  9. When people innocently start banding around figures like 100M other people start to believe it. We will have nowhere near this amount to spend. MON will probably buy a couple of players in Jan then maybe three or four next summer. But we will not be spending massive amounts like 100M so whats the point in talking about it?
  10. Lerner. Hopefully steady investment, ambition, caring for fans and respecting tradition. If all of the above is true, then what more could we want.
  11. I might even smile on the way to the ground
  12. The only thing that worries me is if Ellis goes,DOL gone, a dynamic new board ploughing millions into Villa, a manager with ambition, a track record and high profile signings, gates up, revenue up, Champions league football, Wembley finals etc etc What the **** would we have to moan about
  13. Doug said the petrol money for a trip to Swindon was too much
  14. I presume that the Comer/Neville bid is a no go.Which may possibly be a good thing? The bottom line is whether there is anyone out there willing to spend a lot of money to resurrect an old dinosaur. The longer it goes on the worse things get. Supporting Villa is like being at a job you dont like but can't leave because you have to stay.Every day you get up to go to work you feel stale and go through the motions. Just like going to Villa Park at the moment. Thankfully I run my own company now and I can get up with a smile on my face. I'd like to think that when Doug does eventually go I can fall in love with Villa again.
  15. Tony Daley was one of the most exciting players I ever saw at Villa. Okay I was a bit younger but nostalgia is good for the heart.
  16. Hated the way Southgate left the club but he was great for us every single week. To be fair he has been as consistant for Boro since he moved. Also when he returned to Villa and got booed he had the character to applaud the Villa fans at the end of the match. A top professional.
  17. Earl Barrett our best right back. Blimey we must have been poor in this department over the years. Shame you couldn't have gone back further to the best two we have had since I supported the Villa. Namely John Gidman or Kenny Swain. Sorry to sound negative but Earl Barrett.......
  18. Lets do this one the day after the transfer window shuts

    Blur Vs Oasis

Coxon was the real driving force behind Blur. All of the best Blur songs were his numbers. I hated it when Alburn did that horrible fairground music. However, Blur have always been a band to experiment and change the sound of each album. Liam is an idiot. Rotten fused with Lennon. Noel has written some classic songs that will outlast anything that Blur have done. The problem is how can you determine which band is better when they are completey different. Its like Stones v Beatles, Clash v Pistols, Roses v Mondays all bollocks really. p.s. Dont type Blur quickly it ends up coming ou as Blue. AAAAARRRRGGHH
  20. Lets be honest we need cover for Mellberg and Laursen and someone to push either JLS or Delaney for a starting role. If Hughes can cover either of these roles for cheap bucks that leaves more money for more high profile signings. Ridgewell isn't quite ready yet although I think he will get there. Hughes will be a good sub to cover all back four positions which leaves the other three outfield subs covering midfield or attack.
