Good point, I never really thought about it from PL point of view as to me RL is the man with all the power. Although I guess PL will want his future clarified.

For what it's worth these are my thoughts. I don't think for one second Lambert has flown to the USA to be sacked or for contract talks. All that stuff is normally done by agents and solicitors. However, in my opinion he has either gone for the following reason Just a normal end of season catch up (it is easier for Lambert to fly to the US rather than Lerner take time out of his busy schedule) To discuss next season (There is no new owner or sign of a new owner so they are discussing transfer targets and budgets etc...) We are close to being sold and the new owners want to talk to Lambert about the future. It is very unlikely that Lambert will be sacked until we get new owners. Lerner will want to keep the stability of the club until someone else takes over ... then it is their problem to sack or keep on. Just my thoughts ...

Mad Mick's odds are drifting. I have noticed that AVB odds are getting smaller with a few bookies but nothing like the drop MM had yesterday.

If either Megson or Mcarthy are appointed as manager it just goes to show how clueless and out of touch Lerner and the Board are. They know nothing about football and what the fans want.

I have been a member of VT for a very long time and as you can see I don't post much but I read the forum most days. I always love the debate and think it is amazing that we all want the same for Villa which is success but it how we get there divides so much opinion! I have always been an optimistic supporter of Aston Villa and even in the darker times with various managers I have always tried to look for the positives (I even wanted to give Dr Jo another season!). However, reading on Sky Sports news that we want to talk or contact Alex McLeish is beyond belief. I don't care that it is a former Small Heath manager it is just the fact he is not even at the standard of managing Aston Villa. He has been relegated twice with the knuckle draggers, plays negative long ball tactics and is surely the most unexciting manager we could ever have. If we are trying to keep the likes of Downing and Bent we obviously need to be showing as a club we are moving forward and trying to attract the best players. I do not think that McLeish is realistically going to be able to do this. I will be very disappointed and upset with the board if they appoint him. If they had any real ambition they wouldn't be looking at a manager of McLeish's standard.

I think the Chelsea rumour has come from that website caughtoffside.com – The article was posted yesterday. Link The whole website is based upon people sending in sending in transfer stories! Like... "My mates brothers sister best friends 3rd removed aunt works down the Villa as a tea lady, and yesterdaywhen she was drying out the old tea bag she saw Ronaldo sneek into VP with GH". Which of course is a load of guff ... just like the website! I don’t think there is any need to panic.
