    In my opinion, who we get depends more on who is available rather than our budget. Obviously our funds are not limitless but I think we'll have more clout than most think. Its not that players arent available in January, you just have to make it worth the selling clubs while, whilst getting in early enough to allow them to get replacements. Or better still, offer them the replacements yourself. MON will know who he wants to go after and so will Randy. I'm confident MON will be backed with what he needs. There will also be loan deals to consider.

    Players demanding to be based in London is a myth dreamed up by people from London and the (London based) media. Its not like Birmingham is a little town in the hills is it? Players are usually millionaires and like leafy subrbs close enough to the job. Birmingham is ideal for this.

    I reckon SWP will chomping at the bit to join a small club who are struggling at the bottom of the table with a poxy no-mark manager. Just because they've been taken over by the guy off Mastermind, doesnt mean they are an attractive option to anybody all of a sudden.

    not as a left back he isnt Well, I disagree but Barry is a better midfielder than Bridge too so if we had both it would be Bridge at LB I daresay. I would argue that we have Barry at LB with Bouma as cover. Get rid of Samuel and use any resources to get a top class Right back like Micah Richards. But if we can also afford to get Bridge, why not. It all depends how much we have to spend. LB isnt a priority in my opinion whereas wingers, a right back, a defensive midfielder and a striker or two are.

    After MONs quotes in the Mail yesterday I think you can guarantee a defensive midfielder in Jan as a priority. I think Bridge is a great player but I'd rather leave Barry at LB to be honest. He's a better player than Bridge and that would leave another berth in midfielder for a quality attacking midfielder. Its not like Barry doesnt support the attack from left back position anyway. Still, if we signed Bridge and Barry moved back to midfield I wouldnt exactly complain. Right back is a massive priority in my opinion.

    Young British talent? Dear Santa..... Micah Richards (if not, this Stearman chap), Shaun Wright Phillips or James Milner, Darren Bent, Shaun Maloney, Gareth Bale and 'Ted' Nugent.

    How many of our current squad would moan at paying Beckham loads of money rather than sit there gawping at him on the pitch and in the dressing room and thinking, **** me, we've got Beckham! No brainer. We'd be honoured beyond belief to have him at Villa if we could afford it and if he would come. Remember Merson pinging balls to feet from all over the shop? Well, times that by five. Get a good forward like Klose and it would be a goal fest.
