  1. -----------------------------Boruc/Sorensen ---------------Mellberg/Davies------Laursen/Cahill/Ridgewell Richards/McShane-------------------------------Bouma/O'Halloran ------------------------------Barry/Gardner/Osbourne ----------------Sneijder/Petrov/Sidwell Milner/Young----------------------------------------Maloney/Berger -----------------Carew/Moore-------Huntelaar/Agbonlahor There, easy. Now we just need millions of punds.
  2. Thierry Henry is the best striker in the world. Never mind Europe. Then Drogba.
  3. 2 CBS? I think one more would be a luxury. Assuming we keep the other 4 (and I think we should)
  4. Its not very good if your own players hate them as well though. I dont want them anywhere near our squad.
  5. Boruc C. Davies A. Rightback (Preferably M. Richards but most likely some gem from abroad) S. Sidwell K. Kallstrom J. Milner (or SWP) D. Bent (or M. Owen or D. Ashton or K.J.Huntelaar)
  6. Arguably, he is a creative midfielder with a bit more bite. I say, arguably.
  7. I can see another couple coming in. Even if one is a loan. No, I dont know who.
  8. Links? What the hell do links mean? Nothing. The press have as much idea about whats going on as anybody. If you want to read any old 2 bob fantasy with Villa mentioned, fine. It doesnt mean anything in the article is true just as being ignored by the media is no indication of us being idle.
  9. My thoughts: Neill is a good player although he can be a total knob. Neill is NOT world class. Neill is not worth paying 50k p/w or anything like it. Bardsley will be a better player (just a hunch). And he will be a Villa player.
  10. I prefer it that way. The world will know our business when there is something to say.
  11. I dont agree at all, Cyrus. RAL may be a business man, but if he wanted to make a load of cash there are far more profitable ways of doing this open to him. He is here for fun but that doesnt mean he wont want to make Villa profitable too. Villa will not be profitable for a year or two whilst the money that needs to be spent, will be spent. Also MON has been limited in previous jobs as to what he could spend. He has never had a large budget so he's had to get bargains. Not so anymore. Well, not so much. And with Bouma, Barry and Samuel, I hardly see the need for a LB. Its one of our most catered for positions.
  12. I think MON should worry about getting his team how he wants it and forget about appeasing supporters. After all, he's a better manager than all of them and if he gets it right, they'll be appeased anyway. Get it right rather than get it quick.
  13. Yes. But having said that, I believe Villa to be a fairly attractive destination now and I also believe that MON WILL get his men. Sooner or later.
  14. You have to just ask yourself why it might not happen. I get the impression its not because we dont have the means but because other clubs might not play ball. Thats fine by me.
  15. This isnt bickering its a debate. And a pretty good one at that. Its better than reading some bogus article some hack has dreamed up and then reading "he wont come here" for the millionth time. I reckon anyway.
  16. I dont think people should obsess about figures. I only said it could be reasoned that we'd spend x amount based on what MON has said. MON in that article also said that would be a lot of money. I dont really think that Randy and the business end of IMG are here to fanny around, therfore it is my opinion that we CAN spend large amounts of money but the determining factors are getting the right player for the right price within reason (we'll have to pay a bit over the odds as to be expected) and also whether those players are obtainable. You can throw money at a player or club and they still dont have to agree to come. Thats nobodies fault. I believe that next week will be our crunch week for several reasons. None of which I'll bore you with.
  17. The Browns alone are worth something like 800m. So that figure doesnt include all his assets. Not even close. I'm just saying that those figures are not a true reflection on just how rich people actually are. As for your other points Grant. Well, its all subjective isnt it? I cant believe MON would waste his time dreaming about what Villa need in a time when supporters and media are over sensitive. If anything, the chances are he'll be understating matters.
  18. 1- We were told that its possible to expect 5 players of the Petrov calibre in January. Now if you consider that he was worth 7-8m you could reason that we could spend anything from 25-40m. This depends on whether some are loans or whatever. But MON wouldn't have mentioned that if it were not possible. 2- Randy Lerner is worth several Billion. Its not as simple as saying he is worth £800m as he has many assets and trusts that are not considered in his cash value. Not that it matters much because.... 3- Whilst the money is coming from RAL it doesnt mean his own pocket. A master financier can find many ways to raise money, I'm sure you'll all agree. Well, there is more than one of those on our board as well as IMG's expertise in structuring deals. We dont know yet what sponsorship deals are on the horizon for instance and its obvious the team needs strengthening now more than its likely to need it over the next year or so. Therefore its reasonable to expect a large investment in the squad imminently.
  19. I agree. The best right foot I've ever seen. The best foot, period.
  20. His wife can feck off, granted and I'm sure she would as The Bullring isnt pricey enough for that eejit. But I havent seen Beckham 'nullified' too often. I dont really see how its possible seeing as how the man can put a ball anywhere from practically anywhere else. He did set up most of Englands goals in the WC, did he not? Anyway, its just my opinion and if the guy even considered joining us for a millisecond I would feel honoured. Nonsense.
