A new Right back in January for sure. I think there'll be a new long term left back solution too but probably in the summer, when we'll also get proper back up for GK.
Tim being on the bench is great news, as I believe he's the long term cover for 6 / 8. But we may see another coming in who also covers CB.

He's class, and he was signed by one of the big clubs. A top 4 club in fact.

To be honest - I thought there were glimpses of the player - we thought he was right from the start.
I like him and I’m pleased for him, that we are now starting to see the best version of him and long May this continue
In preseason for sure. His passing was devastating at times. Then it all kicked off in anger and he struggled a bit but that's not a massive shock.
He's always looked motivated, even if the sharpness was missing.- 2

I think its clear (at least to me) that he was still suffering from his "phoning it in" season at a toxic Leicester last year, and that he needed time to adjust to our higher level of fitness and tempo.
Well, it looks like he has now. Long may it continue.

Pros - It works the vast majority of the time.
Cons - ... errrr.......

He's in great form at the moment and showing great desire. I love the guy.

I don't think it needs Football Club adding to be honest. We're a world famous football club. Aston Villa is all that needs to be said.
I'm not sure a lion on its own (juggling a shuriken) is the way to go, but I don't hate it.- 1

He's outstanding at the moment. Levels above where he was last year or so.

To play cup games?
To cope with an increased fixture list and to stay competitive.

Oh hell yes. Share the love.
Jan is insatiable too.

Shows we still definitely need a couple in Jan.

I like the team but I'm wary of starting both Luiz and Kamara. Dendoncker will replace one early hopefully.

He's not perfect, he's still adjusting to the league. But he's going to be a top player for us. I'm a big fan.
His range of passing and composure is essential to how we want to play. I'll take a bit of rough for the promise of a whole lotta smooth (cue Kenneth).

The Irony is... I thought his handling of Mitoma, was top drawer....shows he can do it.
but I get your point.
However, I know little of Frimpong, so can't comment on him.
He played very well on Saturday, taking one of the best players in the league out of the game. He can do it. Consistently enough? No, not really. Not for me.

If competetion for Cash could see him raise his levels like Digne it's a win win all round.
Cash at his best is already quite good.
I agree. I want a top darts player there though. Quite good can back him up.

I bet he still managed to pick up a silly yellow card.

Is it a wing back we need on the right, or cover?
Matt cash is a wing back, I would have thought we need a traditional right back to make the option of 3 at the back.
Somebody who is a better defender than Cash first and foremost, but also a more attacking threat with crosses when they do get forward. Cash often hits the first man with crosses. It will cost a fair bit but OK.

Top RB, young LB with massive potential (can wait until summer or next Jan), left sided AM / FW , backup GK. Maybe another striker.
To be honest, only the RB is pressing. That's no dig at Cash but we're light there and he's not consistent enough.

The current Lion and roundel looks great. ffs...

I want the roundel badge to stay. Just on a better shirt.

Its such a difference maker when you have a centre half bringing the ball into midfield, knowing he can play a safe short ball or ping a perfectly weighted beauty 50 yards to to run on to.
It must be a nightmare to plan against.
This guy is going to be absolute different gravy for us, you just know it. I think when we get more numbers back we'll play 3 centre halves away from home with Pau the left of the 3, taking the ball into midfield.- 1

He's raw, it's a bit frantic at the moment. It seems to me that adjusting to this league is going to take a while but if he does, there's a hell of a player in there.
He's intriguing. I don't know whether it will work out or not but I get the impression its going to be fun finding out.- 1
