  1. Not sure how I feel yet. Nice and clear, but haven't got used to it yet to give a real opinion. Not seeing how to go straight to the last post in a given topic. I've set mine as I like on here to show new posts since my last visit. I clicked on a thread on my iPhone with safari and had to hit next constantly to progress to the latest. I must be missing the easier way.

I've found clicking on the name of the thread as opposed to the whole box sends you to the last page.

  2. Don't get all the Bent hate, he may not run the channels all game and close down defenders. But this season has to my mind seen a vast improvement and willingness in his general link up play.

  3. I live in the middle of nowhere, so as much as cycling would be good for fitness, that's also a no! Plus I don't think I'd quite make it to Villa Park on a bike .

Anymore performances like today and Everton and i think that would be a positive.

Biking isn't to bad for time, i do a 14 mile ride each day taking it quite steady in just over an hour and my fitness and weight is in a word shite.

  4. I'm not saying his performance was good enough or not just that taking a kid from such a low divison the criticism should not so much be on the player as on the manager for buying and playing him.

The Heskey analogy is completely different as that was a player who had played at the top for all of his career and knows what it takes to succeed at this level, and still turned in mediocre performances.

  5. Looks to me like his just a stronger and taller version of Bent.

Not great technically and will miss a few but if given the service will always been in the right place to get a pop at goal.

Has to be one of Bent/Benteke Poachers and Gabby/Weiman.

  6. Ok so tell me what other choices do we have???

Not buy kids from league one?

Thats something to criticize Lambert over not Westwood. do people expect the kid to turn down the chance to try his hand in the Premier League when given a chance.

  7. Great keeper. I think that Blackburn semi really hurt his confidence for a while as before that he was looking a great prospect. He now seems to have got over it and is where many thought he would be before that game.

  8. Good point.

Guzan - 8 - Was fantastic today. Came out and claimed the ball all game and the defense looked more comfortable because of it.

Lowton - 7 - Solid at the back and likes to get forward just lacks that final delivery.

Clark - 8 - Bit sloppy with the ball at his feet gave it away a few times but did well for his goal.

Vlaar - 7 - Won nearly everything that came his way, maybe takes one too many touches on the ball at times.

Lichaj - 6 - I thought he was the weakest of the defenders and Bannan tracking back a lot helped him out.

Bannan - 7 - Great cross for the goal and worked very hard.

El Ahmadi - 7 - Really like this player keeps the play ticking over nicely and closes down well.

Holman - 6 - A mixed bag poor ball play but a lot harassing and pressuring high up the pitch.

Ireland - 6 - Looked to me like the game sort of drifted past him the odd nice touch.

Weiman - 7 - Lots of running as you always expect and he held it up and linked well with Bent.

Bent - 7 - Seemed a lot more involved this week, appeared to me that he kept dropping deeper to get involved more than usual.

  9. Be the first to see the next Football Manager…

Be the first to see the next Football Manager

We have a golden opportunity for ten fans to be the first people to see our next release.

The lucky 10 will be invited along to the Sports Interactive studio as the first people outside of SI and our inner circle to play the next version of Football Manager, well ahead of the game launching. You’ll also get an extremely rare and exclusive studio tour where you’ll get to meet the team behind all of the studio’s games, go for lunch with Miles Jacobson and at least two other members of the team, enjoy a Q&A session with Miles and have an exclusive chance to see the studio’s new games before they are available.

We have places for five people, plus a guest each, and this offer is available on a first-come-first-served basis for $500 per spot to help support the independent film From Bedroom to Billions, which takes a look at the meteoric rise of UK gaming in the 1990s.

This tour will take place on Friday 21st September. Please note that people will be responsible for their own travel costs and may be required to sign a non-disclosure agreement regarding things you might see at the studio!

Click here to find out more about the film: http://www.indiegogo.com/projects/78873

Anybody here fancy it? You could give us all the low down on the new game before anyone else.

  10. I trust Lambert 100%

I trust Lerner a lot lot lot less.

    Why?

Hiring Mcleash is reason enough not to trust Lerner. I'm not sure he realises how poor our squad actually is.

Disagree entirely - Lerner has done a massive amount for the club, he **** up by hiring McLeish but people make mistakes. I'm not going to hold some sort of pathetic grudge - he sacked him, he's gone, he's hired Lambert and now we're moving on. I suggest you do too.

you carnt learn from a mistake unless you make a mistake,i think randy has invested in proven striker in bent to paper over the midfield cracks, paying a top striker is cheaper than 3 top midfield players, sorry but again we still have not filled in voids left from milner/barry/downin/young.i like the lambert thing but but i dont feel bannan/delph/etc are good enough for the prem. time will tell..i hope i eat my words i really do

Did Downing not replace Barry who was in turn replaced by N'Zogbia and you could argue Bent replaced Milner. So its only Young not replaced.

  11. Listening to it now, and I'm so far really liking Lambert.

Some comments about experience playing what he called 'men's football' (opposed to academy). I get the impression he puts more worth to a player that has played 100 plus games in the championship of foreign league. Than 20 odd games in the premiership. Also questioning the motivation of loan signings at a club, whether they really care about your club or not.

100% agree with that, its often mentioned why someone would put in 100% when there contracts soon up and they know there leaving, i see the same with loanee's unless there young and unproven.

  12. we don't have a decent winger in our team so we may as well play narrow....id go....

    --------------Given---------------------

    Lowton------Vlaar-------Clark-------Lichaj

    ------------------Herd----------------------

    -------El Ahmadi-------Holman-------------

    -----------------Ireland-------------------

    --------Bent---------------Zogs---------

that back line is filling me with more and more dread every time i look at it!

Just turned Sky sports news on and seen PL's pre game interview...

words cannot describe how nice it is to see his face on a Friday evening rather than sitting down and knowing you are going to have to see Mcleishs ugly mug bang on about how dynamic our team is and that Hesky is really relishing his new winger role

I would go with that team maybe drop KEA into Herds position and put Bannan on though.

1-1 An ugly game with Big Sam getting West Ham to hit it over our midfields heads and us to score on the break.
