  1. Sod it, lets go all out

    --------------Guzan--------------

    Lowton--------Vlaar------Bertrand

    ------------Westwood-------------

    Bacuna-----------------------Delph

    ---------------KEA---------------

    Albrighton----Helenius-------Tonev

KEA behind the strikers to use his tackling proficiency to win balls and apply pressure in the final third.

Pace of Bacuna and Delph to provide decent coverage to attack and defend.

Albrighton is on form so give him something to aim at in Helenius (or Holt) and Tonev to do the same on the left.

    Swansea 3 - 5 Villa

  2. Got to play Holt if Albrighton is playing. Need a target man in the box who can do something with those crosses. I know Gabby isn't a target man but he didn't win one header last week against Southampton and looked totally out of sorts, as did Weimann.

I agree about Albrighton and Holt, but what about Helenius? Still injured or not considered ready?

I don't have much confidence in an Albrighton / Gabby / Weimann link up.

If Albrighton plays to a target man I'd like to see Tonev doing the same kind of thing on the left. Looked a lot more composed the last 2 games.

  3. Mysteryman just commented on the tbar site.

    aaannnnnnnndddddd.........................................

Fine if you aren't going to do it for me!!

100% for sale - 3/4 interested parties - new manager will follow.

    hmmm not ground breaking

So if up to four parties are interested, how does he know that all four (let alone one) intend to replace the manager?

Knowing that four parties are interested I can believe. Knowing the intention of each one, nope.

I doubt that this is MM.

  4. What do you make of this by Admin at TBAR suggesting that Lambert has gone. I think its a few days old judging by the posts it links to.

I think this guy has heard some genuine info about the Culverhouse thing, but is now seriously pushing his luck with speculation.

Hello and welcome to the first newsletter from "The Bells Are Ringing".

After being open for conversation about all things Aston Villa (and a lot of things that aren't) for only a few weeks, we were hit with the exciting news that our beloved club had apparently attracted a buyer and a deal was done and (just about) dusted.

And, just as things were starting to get exciting (at least OFF the pitch), we are the first to announce that Paul Lambert has left the club.

We'd received a tip last weekend that an "All Must Attend" meeting with Paul Lambert was set down at the club's training grounds for Thursday morning and we were hoping for the best possible outcome. It seems our wishes have been granted!

As for the take-over, well we were as surprised as anyone else when we heard of this from one of our reliable sources but when another of our contacts at the club got in touch with the same information, our surprise became excitement!

Who are the new owners? What will they bring? Will they be like Mansour at Man City or Yeung at Birmingham City?

Only time will tell and, of course, you'll hear about it at TBAR first so stay tuned.

    A dramatic opening for us.

A dramatic ending of the season for the Villa.

Thanks for reading and Up The Villa!

They are saying over there that that post is shopped or something, and Lambert isn't gone.

Yes another poster claims it has been altered (how would he know?), which isn't denying that an original version wasn't created by Admin.

But you need admin rights I imagine to alter something like this.

  6. If we win any game at all I think it will be the Hull game as they will have their minds on the cup final at the time we play them.

Wouldn't rely on Steve Bruce to do us a favour!

Chill ya boots. 3 points for us today and we're fine. We'll win this afternoon I'm certain of it.
I really hope you are right, cause Fulham won't lie down...........

    Bent warming up...... Hatrick?

  7. They weren't responsible for this were they they ;) ?

Who knows. I've seen this posted a few times and i still am not able to read it even when i zoom in. Anyone a better copy?

    I wouldn't bother it's obviously fake anyway.

Why do people think that's a leak, or fake? The opposition gets the team the same time as the ref about, what, an hour before kick-off? Why is it so unlikely that they had a blurb written up about every player in the squad, and once the Villa team was announced they printed that document off with the starting XI for their players so they could do a bit of quick preparation in the run up to the game starting?

Would they know the actual position of each player though including accurate positions of each CB with Baker in the middle of Clark and Vlaar?

Plus, if you look closely you can see the shadow of the hands of the person that is holding it.

There be hairs on them hands.............

  8. If Culverhouse is so unlikable and bad in his coaching it makes you ask why has Lambert had him as a right hand man for almost all his managerial career? A crazy day at Villa, but if it clears the air then so be it.

Maybe he never adapted to life at a bigger club.

  9. I wouldn't expect news of the Culverhouse thing to come out if Lambert was on his way also.

You think it would all come out together.

Unless they are using this to lever PL out i imagine that's it for now.

  10. Wow, how much wasted energy is being spent on egotistical politics behind the scenes?

Cut it out, or GTF out. There are better things to be focused upon like actually playing good football.

  11. I agree. For Faulkner to come out with this means that change is forthcoming.

Indeed but I don't think it will be either of the changes people are speculating about...

If not a new owner/manager, what chances are you expecting/hoping for?

I guessed Trent's post as Faulkner going full time to FA and a new Chief Exec coming in.

Apparently Nicola Cortese was spotted in a local Tesco's earlier today.
