I was impressed with his dribbling skills.

If Dawson is shit what does that make Baker, Clark and Senderos?

Didn't he have a problem with his back which has finally been corrected once and for all? Some kind of cyst removal??
I'm sure I read this somewhere (yes probably twitter).
Anyway if true it will be interesting to see how he does if fit for long enough and with enough game time.

Lambert has done well with the budget at hand.
No he hasn't. For players like Tonev to be bombed out after a year says a lot about his ability in both the transfer market and on the training ground.
I don't agree at all.
Tonev was an inexpensive gamble to fill the position left by N'Zogbia.
Tonev's approach play is good, he's quick, direct and skilful; only problem is his choice and final delivery i.e shooting.
I agree, and his appearances towards the end of the season seemed more composed and he was unlucky not to score a couple of times due to good saves.

Mbia is exactly what we need. Free agent now. Played well for Sevilla last year so I expect bigger fish to be after him.
A greedy mercenary who didn't try one bit at QPR, then ****ed off when they were relegated?
No thanks.
Exactly this. We need someone who'll stick around once we're relegated.....

Maybe now Lambert is more 'hands on' in training he's seeing something different to what was reported at the time by his now ex-head coach.....

I thought many times last season that we should go in for Ki, so I can't be anything but positive about this if it happens.

We're gonna win the league!

Just joined on here after watching over about speculation talk the last few weeks, but today heard something which i thought i could share. You can disagree with me all you want but the simple thing i've heard is that Merson has said we've sold to an American owner who he said will be announced actually in September and also that he was the one who wanted Roy Keane in and Lambert wasn't actually a fan of the idea. This has come through a friend who is close with Merson and drinks with him, alot. Again i know how this works with most people calling stuff like this rubbish, but this is no lie, we will just have to wait n see.
I have reason to believe that this is true.
Unfortunately that reason is desperation.

Yes sorry Derby.
Either way I think its BS after reading a bit more.
The Hoolahan thing is obviously more likely, although Trent suggested otherwise so who knows.
-
So a picture of Hoolahan and a Villa fan has been doing the rounds on twitter, and Hoolahan was quoted as saying that he hopes to be a Villa player next season.
Also rumours of midfielder Craig Bryson from Notts County.
Disclaimer: Probably twatter b*******

I have a feeling this guy is going to be an extremely important player next season, like Vlaar, Benteke and Delph have been previously.
I hope and pray his injury doesn't come back to haunt him.

I think PL is playing a smart game here by getting a high profile name such as Keane involved. You can see how this could help him to be looked at more favourably by potential new owners. He may well be trying to add value to himself remaining as the manager.

Fingers crossed he does ok. I'd hate for Philippe to flop.

I will find you, and I will kill you.

Where's Mendi?
Hiding under a desk somewhere in Naples.

Has Lerner always had a sustainable plan executed by appointing the right people? Not doing this for me is the source of the problems.

Doesnt matter does it cos apparently anyone would do a better jobSo for those who want Lambert out. Any thoughts on who would seriously take the job right now?
If it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck in all probability its a duck.
I'm not sure what results he has to be responsible for before you say " yeah he's a duck"
Eider thought going down.

I'd like to believe whoever is willing to pay £200m for the club will have good intentions and adequate resources to get the best out of their very expensive investment. I doubt any potential owner is going to takeover the Villa to destroy the club or lose interest after a few seasons, regardless of what their nationality is.
So on that basis I would welcome literally any new owner.
Yes, 2 on the trot would be most unlucky.

How many headers does Benteke win where there's nobody positioned to pick it up and a defender has a simple clearance? Gil sat just off him is the answer surely?
