  1. That is so funny, in a dark and politically incorrect sort of way ha ha. You're a candidate for "Post of the Day"! Nice one.
  2. It's not just about what he does, it's about what he doesn't do. Compare and contrast his style with that of say Ron Gourlay at Chelsea and Ian Ayre at Liverpool - always happy to talk to the media to keep the fans in the loop, if not in the full picture. Faulkner coudn't give two hoots about the fans. Remote, aloof and unwilling to communicate with the client-base. A bit like his boss, surprise surprise. All we got was a token presence from General Krulak.
  3. Well put, smetrov. I find this silence very frustrating. I've just watched one of the Venkys speaking on SSN, came across better than expected, and at least had the honesty and balls to admit the club's confusion. All we get are cryptic, mealy-mouthed press statements once in a blue moon. For businessmen, our hierarchy don't seem to know much about public relations (or customer care lol). What price customer loyalty?
  4. I share your reservations, PieFace. What bothers me is that the Villa hierarchy has become aloof, remote and uncommunicative. Most of us here - the paying customers - love this club, it's more than just a business. If it were just a business, then surely any company which treats its customers with disdain deserves all it gets? It's almost as if they're of the mindset "well, if they don't like what we do at Villa, let them go to Blues or Albion". Now I wouldn't expect RL/PF to consult us lot, or involve us in the decision making process, but to treat us as if we didn't exist just stinks in my book. A football club ain't like a supermarket!
  5. I thought we had said thanks but no thanks. Not in as many words. The Express & Star mentioned it at the time OGS and Lambert seemed hot prospects. However, it is understood by the Express & Star that Paciencia, who managed Porto’s B team while Jose Mourinho was in charge of the club, is some way down the list of prospective replacements for Alex McLeishRead more: http://www.expressandstar.com/sport/aston-villa-fc/2012/05/22/domingos-paciencia-interested-in-aston-villa-manager%e2%80%99s-job/#ixzz1vj3g8O8O
  6. Clutching at straws, maybe....but I'm warming to the mysterious Domingos Paciencia. Has a pretty good cv and would appear to tick a goodly few of the criteria boxes. He's 45 and apparently speaks fluent English. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Domingos_Paci%C3%AAncia Could he be the "wild card"?
  7. Speaking English is a prerequisite. That would rule out Lambert, King Kenny - and probably SAF !!
  8. Faulkner needs to stick to the business side. But even so, I think I'd replace him - how about Dominic Strauss-Kahn?
  9. I'd like to see safety from relegation above all, some entertaining football, a couple of wins over bigger boys (Man U & 'Pool), a bit of fun in Cup comps, and some of our youngsters coming on nicely, like Gardner, Carruthers and Weimann.
  10. Even Gareth Southgate's "ruled himself out" - on SSN news a couple of minutes ago. Can't say I'm sorry.....
  11. We've been down the Martinez road before - it's a dead end.
  12. It's getting that way. They're marginally better than the Venkys at Blackburn, but not by much!
  13. If Lambert does come, could we please arrange for him to have an interpreter, or at least use sub-titles for his TV interviews?
  14. At the risk of bursting anyone's bubble, I think we can safely assume that Mr. Mourinho will not be coming to VP... If we must have another dour, uninspiring Scotsman, could we please do it properly and invite King Kenny for a cosy little chat with Uncle Randy?
