  1. Am I alone in thinking Martinez needs to grow some bollocks? His Victorian father aka Dave Whelan has deigned to allow him to talk to Liverpool. How gracious ffs.

Totally agreement, Honourable Dave Whelan is making Martinez look like a weak douche. After commenting that Liverpool are a massive MASSIVE club he now says they are in turmoil and "don't know what they are doing".

    The Gent diagnoses Senile Dementia.

  2. At a time when Randy is looking for a new manager and has supposedly set aside two weeks in the country in which to find said manager, he jets off home a day after arriving. I think it's more likely that it went along the lines of "will you do it?", "yes I will, just let me sort some stuff in Norway", "good stuff, I'm off back to the land of the free" otherwise why would Randolph leave?

^This seems likely too! The Gent is easily swayed.

Time coupled with patience will tell! We can conclude that it surely wasn't a 'chat' but either 'Yes I will Randy, but keep it on the down low brother, I shizzle to dizzle" or "Thanks but no Randy, I heart Norway too much, I will say we just had a little chat to save your embarrassment"

  3. The Wiggy says its really rather annoying.

You must get extreme road rage, old chap.

In other News... What with the jet and his wife being there it must be under serious consideration by both parties. One would postulate the biggest stumbling block would be the uprooting of his family. All this excitement is all rather intoxicating.

What financial woes did JulieB mention on page 59?

The Gent takes that as all the EU/Greek meltdown palaver.

  4. mixed feeling on this if we get him and i think we need a experience manager in who worked in England and knows the league very well.

Solskjaer worked for Manchester United as player and reserve team coach between 1996 and 2011. I suspect he knows the league pretty well!

He not managed a club in premi league ,that what I should have said.

The Gent ponders which manager you are preferring.....Mick McCarthy, Sam Allardyce, Alan Curbishsley or Steve Bruce. Will the endless recycling of 'premier league experienced' managers ever ruddy well end. Steve Bruce goes in Steve Bruce goes out Mick McC...........

  5. He also says plays (at least used to play) a lot of football manager. When he was asked who he usually bought he answered that he had bought a lot of "wierd" players.

Apparently Gentleman Moyes uses this as an initial scouting tool too.

    That explains ibrahima bakayoko

The gentleman believes this was down to Walter Smith on Championship Manager on a ZX Spectrum.

  6. Indoubtedly old boy. I suspect this cad is a rank outsider and a left hander. His musings are highly dubious and contradictory.

Have him horsewhipped from the estates and send his credentials to the constabulary for investigations.

They may reveal a known bounder from the small heath poorhouses.

^What this gentleman said. The unmistakeable whiff of a Small Heath Capite censi. No need to concern the constabulary old chap. Deal with this dandy troll miscreant the old fashioned way.

  7. .... This is some i thought would interest you guys. I certainly was. ecspecially flores's clams of the playing budget this season. 8 million plus 50% of player sales. Again this is according to flores himself.

The Gent is confuddled, surely if 'TalkSport' were privy to such information they would announce it as an exclusive, "8 mil-8mil, phone in now". Furthermore, with all due respect, history suggests TalkSport do not hold highest journalist due diligence and moral gentlemanly, they would therefore have no qualms about throwing this rumour fish into the dirty sea. In fact, Daily Hate-mail Moxey was purporting the opposite on Talksport, "Learner will provide funds, etc. etc."

  8. Eck's unhappy as his shoelace is untied, whereas he loves things (e.g. football games) that are tied.

Explaining it instantly sucks all the humour out of it, so thank you very much for that. :P

    or......

  9. Also says that PL "can't go to the toilet without MON wiping his arse for him".

Also on his decision to join Norwich he commented:

“I spoke to Martin (O'Neill) about the offer and he told me that Norwich was a huge club and that it was too good a job to turn down. He said that he (O'Neill) had enjoyed his time here and that while there is a lot of pressure, it could be an incredible place.”

The Gent ponders, could O'Neill's negative working relationship with the board/Lerner affect Lambert decision to take the job?

  10. I want DiCanio. After the last two miserable seasons, we need some entertainment, both on and off the pitch.

Sorry, but with his history with the far right in Italy, Villa is really the last place for a man like that. Still agree he was a great personality though.

I notice that a lot of people are making a big deal about his political views but are they really that important? I get the impression that if he was a communist (far-left as opposed to far-right) nobody would care.

For the record, I don't want DiCanio nor do I agree with his views.

The need for a secularity (politics/football) in english football is a given, however will his views cloud his judgment and/or affect relationships with players.

    Enlightenment..

  11. It is without doubt the club will approach Lambert. Regards to "not nice to see comments" (fans abusing McLeish). Lambert witnessed similar scenes with Bryan Gunn (a fellow actually ran on the field seeking retribution) after his Colchester side demolished Norwich 7-1. Gunn was given 2 games. Lambert did not take umbrage to this.

However on his decision to join Norwich he commented:

“I spoke to Martin (O'Neill) about the offer and he told me that Norwich was a huge club and that it was too good a job to turn down. He said that he (O'Neill) had enjoyed his time here and that while there is a lot of pressure, it could be an incredible place.”

The Gent ponders, could O'Neill's negative working relationship with the board/Lerner affect Lambert decision to take the job?

The Gentleman was in the Martinez camp initially but after consideration of Lambert achievements and potential he now gets the Gents seal of approval (not quite a illusions as Fergie Seal of Approval). Back to back promotions, solid Prem start with poor squad, CC semi-finalists with Wycombe, tactically adaptive, young allowing room to improve, and seemingly highly motivated with a no-nonsense attitude.
