Jack Butland is an awesome keeper....saw him play for Cheltenham a few times this season, yeah he's a Brum player and likely to be going to a big club like Man U but we should get a cheeky bid in I reckon!

Staying with Cheltenham, I reckon Sido Jombati is one hell of a defender (Sporting CP youth) Obviously PL is a massive step up from League 2 but I reckon he could do it as he's already stepped up 2 leagues in the last few seasons and could get him for next to nothing.

As for Carroll I reckon he'd be a good loan signing but I doubt that's going to happen.

Think they fact we're discussing, allegedly, a loan to buy deal means we want to use the season as a bit of a trial. He's still young and might take a bit longer to adapt to the league. I'd say he'll very much be competition for the likes of Albrighton and will hopefully give us a bit more strength in the squad.

Again another exciting but ultimately unproven player, could go either this one I think.

Not to sure on these Loan to buy deals.... Sigurdson (or however you spell it) for example was amazing which ended up him being bought by Tottenham instead of Swansea!

If this guy is the same then he won't be signing for Villa at the end of the season!

I'm surprised people are saying they'd take Barry back. I think he's a very good player, and he was particularly impressive for City during the latter stages of last season, but have people really forgiven him? I know it's a moot point anyway because if he did leave City, he'd easily find a CL club willing to take him on but I can't say the idea sits too comfortably with me.

Cahill's a no-brainer. And I always liked Reo-Coker. He didn't get a fair crack of it under MON but when he got his chance his attitude was always impeccable. We could have done with him last season although I'd like to think we could attract far better players in our current position.

Would happily take Barry back, easy to forgive him when you think that he gave so much to Villa,he is 9th in the all time appearances and is still a great player.

yeah that makes sense, maybe just 15-20mill at least.. I mean how much did he give McLeish? I think they would want to give him a good chunk of transfer budget, otherwise there would be no incentive to come to villa.

Probably more than Norwich are offering, either that or he's been offered a good pay package to come to Villa....... I think Mcleish got around £15m or half of what Villa got paid for Young and Downing however much that was.
