    i'm going to have to totally agree with Mantis here.

     

    Although Given made that save, he does not command his box well enough. He is very small compared to a lot of keepers, both my Dad and I commented on how small he looked compared to Orient's keeper and Guzan as well. I really do think if Guzan was in goal the game would have gone to extra time. During that final scrappy build up towards their goal the ball was lofted into the box a few times. Guzan would have claimed one of those balls to stop the goal in my opinion. 

     

    For me there's no denying the fact that Given has been in goal for all of our cup exits. (excluding sheffield united) Bradford, Millwall and Leyton Orient. and should have done better in all of those games.

    Shall we rename this thread to "relegation?" Cause that's what we have to face pretty soon

     

    We lost 1 game to Lower league opposition, we're going down!

    Shite on the wing.

    Decent striker but still not convinced he'll make it at this level.

     

    I know its raining today - but cheer up mate! 

     

    Once Benteke is back we'll see better performances from Weimann - i'm convinced.

    Obvious trolls are obvious.

     

    That Westwood clip you posted Stefan is awesome. I remember watching that during the game and turning to my brother and just saying "wow" - It's not the first time he's done something similar as well!

     

    I think it was last season, a ball was way up in the air and he brought it down with such good control and played a decent pass almost a split second after.

    I don't understand all the hate for Westwood? In my mind, he's a decent player for a mid table side, which is what we are. He's not a world beater by far, but he's definitely not gobshite like some are suggesting on here.

    This new look defence has already bettered last seasons results against the same teams. Thats all we can hope for in the short term really. 

     

    We shipped 6 goals against Stoke last season and 3 goals against Newcastle. 

     

    EDIT: and yes you could say that was 4 games and we've only played 2, well in the equivalent fixtures we conceded 2 against Stoke and 2 against Newcastle.
