  1. However the fact that we appointed Paul Lambert over 48 hours ago, and Faulkner obviously considers that just one sentence on the official site is all that is required, worries me.

Once again how do you know he is even responsible for this, it might have been decided from a legal point of view whilst the compensation side of things is sorted with Norwich?

We just dont know, we can only assume and all the assumptions always seem to be the worst kind..

  2. Never have I seen a film before that I could pick out so many holes in the plot, all these clever scientists were stupid morons that did the most illogical of things.

A poor film and nothing to do with it being it being connected to some classics.

Some good actors acting very badly too.

  3. but what really sicken me is the picture of various royal in military uniforms and thier numbers of medals that they have for the alleged works that they have done and the effort put in towards the military. Makes an abso mockery to the real serviceman/woman in the country.

    Eh?

  4. Don't love it, don't hate it.

Happy for the extra day off.

Amused by people who hate it so much. Life's too short. get over it.

Equally amused by people who completely love it.

Yup, people getting worked up amuse me too.

Also protestors along the Themes, should have done their research. The whole boat thing paid for by donations, naff all to do with the state this time.

  5. No happy pills but you have to realise where we WERE heading was a huge downer. Now it seems Lerner is putting things in place to make sure that never happens again. Hope he is true to what I have been told is about to happen

He must have found a money tree then?

As the only way Villa fans will be happy with Randy Lerner is if he is consistently pumping money in for players, regardless of how it does or doesn't cripple the club.

Or perhaps you mean the few years of penny pinching as in fact been worth it in the long run?

  6. What a refreshing change, considering all the abuse RL & PF received based on nothing, I hope they get some credit if it all comes off ok...

    Just comical.

One potentially good decision doesn't make up for two years of bad ones or mean the last two years didn't happen.

I get the impression VillaForever was referring only to the last couple of weeks. Yes they royally ballsed up the last 2 appointments and highly deserved the flack they received. That's made everyone nervous and edgy this time around, but some of the drivel being thrown around at both RL & PF, especially in the last week, has been over the top.

    That about right, VF1970?

Thats exactly right, as i've explained above. :)

  7. What a refreshing change, considering all the abuse RL & PF received based on nothing, I hope they get some credit if it all comes off ok...

What are you referring to here? Abuse for nothing? They rightly got abuse for appointing AM. That will not be forgotten any time soon. Appointing Lambert will go some way to making things right, yet I still don't trust either of them after that mess. They have a lot of making up to do...

They were criticised, and rightly so, for hiring a manager with a track record of relegation, and then they had the audacity to, pretty much, tell us we didn't not what we were talking about.

Then 10 months later they sack the man, due to his terrible style of football and poor results, which we warned them about at the time of the appointment.

I really don't understand the 'based on nothing' part, when they had walk up to Big Eck with their tales between their legs and sack him for the exact reasons we didn't want him at our club in the first place.

I bet you had a righr self-righteous hard on whilst writing that.

Not forgetting that decision cost the club over £10 million, what with compo to Blues, wages to Eck and his team, and the pay off, as well as lost revenue in smaller crowds. Last season was just a non event.

They deserve creedit if we get Lambert, but I'll never understand the ridiculous decision of 12 months ago..

I think the direction the club has taken in the last two plus years culminating in the appointment of the worst manager in our history, worst set of results in our history and poorest squad of players I have seen in forty plus years suggests that it was not based on nothing

They deserved the abuse! How ANYONE could think that hiring McLeish was going to be a great move for Villa is totally baffling. Lambert IS a good move BUT it really wouldn't surprise me if Lerner hadn't even heard of him till this season. It also wouldn't surprise me if Lambert wasn't even on the radar until the last day of the season when the Villa fans were singing Lambert's name! Lerner knows he **** up and he knows we aren't happy. I'm not saying that he has bowed to fan pressure to try and get us back onside but he definitely would have been informed that Lambert would be a popular choice with the fans. After all, he can't afford to have poor season ticket sales and see match day attendances continuing to fall.

    Just comical.

One potentially good decision doesn't make up for two years of bad ones or mean the last two years didn't happen.

What about the abuse from McCleish's sacking to now? Thats what i meant.

Before they have had chance to try and improve on the few years of shite decisions they are getting grief, for basically nothing.

It will take a while to win the good will back from a few years of poor decisions.

But when its clear they are trying to, no need to carry it on imo; no point.

  8. CLUB STATEMENT ON PAUL LAMBERT

Posted on: Thu 31 May 2012

The Club regrets to confirm that Paul Lambert has offered his resignation from his position as Norwich City Manager.

We have fought hard to keep Paul at Norwich City and have not accepted his resignation whilst discussions with another club are taking place.

However, whatever happens, we want to place on record our sincere gratitude for everything Paul has done for the Club over the last three fantastic seasons.

When Paul joined us in August 2009 we were in 66th position in the English football pyramid and the Club was on the brink of financial meltdown.

Today we are a Barclays Premier League football club, on a financially sound footing and with a stadium full to capacity.

Discussions with Paul throughout the last few days have been professional and amicable. Paul has already earned his place in Norwich City Football Club history and, no matter what happens, will always have a friendly welcome at Carrow Road.

Meanwhile, contrary to some media speculation, the Club does not need to sell any players and the finances are in place to substantially strengthen the excellent squad which helped us finish in 12th position in the Premier League last season.

Rest assured that everyone behind the scenes at Carrow Road remains absolutely focused on continuing to help the Club progress.

  9. I like Lambert. However i have my concerns.

His transfers for Norwich and previous clubs have always been lower league English Players.

That may be ok for low league sides.. but if you want to compete in the Premier League.. you have to buy some foreigners. Unless you do a MON and pay overs for overrated English players.

He needs to change his style and dip into the European Market. Does he have the connections from his Dortmund role to scout these players?

Thats my concern. Not enough good English players around to build a top quality side.. especially as all the big clubs have the better ones.

KSV? Are you serious? Do you think that A, Norwich had the money to shop in the top leagues of the world? B, That even if they did that Norwich were a big enough draw for those type of players?

We all know the struggle Villa have acquiring good players so how do you expect Norwich to fair?

If he is our new manager then I expect he will shop where the market allows him to, if RL were to give him 50m to spend I would expect 1 or 2 top draw sign's along with some "journey men" and some with potential.

If however it were 10m then he will have to work his butt off and that may mean he has to find some gems from the lower leagues but this isn't a fault or a worry of his making but something he will have to deal with.

Re read what i said. My concerns are he is untested in the European market.. has he got contacts to buy the players to push Villa on.

Not the fact that hes bought English lower league for Norwich..

What about doing his coaching badges in Germany?

  10. Okay - got some info here from Dad - I don't know how reliable it is but whatever. I am not ITK, and I doubt my dad is ITK

Well my Dad says he was speaking to a former player who works at VP today and that "source" said:

    - We offered OGS the job and he declined it

    - We have interviewed Rogers (however he is now likely going to liverpool)

    - We are currently in talks with Martinez and he was at Villa Park today (according to the 'source')

    - The 3rd mystery Candidate is Capello.

  11. kin embarrassing if we're chasing the Norwich manager

Good luck to norwich, i hope he stays put

You won't be happy unless we unveil Mourinho.

    Laudrup

    Benitez

    Klinsmann

They are not going to happen sorry.

They are also are not what Villa need.

Villa need a young, keen to impress manager. Someone who will strip the club down, start from scratch building quality foundations.

These 'names' might be like an exciting quick fix, but i doubt they would be round long enough to really execute the root/branch change Villa need.
