  1. Villa fans moaning that this hasn’t been sorted is up there with a fart in a lift, **** annoying!

Its always the clubs, Lerner’s, Fox’s fault isn’t it, why is it always one sided? How about we’re doing everything we can just the other party is busy, or they’ve lost their dog or had a family emergency? Nope its Villa’s fault.

  2. Fury Road begins with a short narration on what happened to the world to make it the way it is now. Also, I think it assumes you've either seen the original Mad Max films or at least read up on them.

It doesn't require any explanation really though. If it did, it'd be to the detriment of what the film was going for and what makes it so great. It's a post-apocalyptic world after nuclear war, now have at it.

It's a two hour car chase, they go one way for 90 mins, do a U-turn and come back for the last 30 mins. It may be a post apocalyptic world but that is no excuse to make an utterly shite movie

You may not have liked it but its not a shit film, its impeccably made and the best edited film i've seen this year. 99% of film critics cannot all be wrong and they see plenty of good and bad films.

The whole world is explained in a visual way, the extremism, desperation weirdness doesn't need to be rammed down your throat with terrible dialogue the narative and reasoning behind it is clearly explained as well.

I dont care much for the Godfather for example, think its dull but its still very well made.

  3. Finally got around to watching the new Mad Max, it's dreadful. Like it was written by an amateur director, a lot of it is un explained, some terrible scenes. I'm disappointed at Hoult, Hardy and Theron for taking part.

    have I missed something?

Yup, there is so much going on. A world is created and there isn't a massive sign or terrible exposition to explain it all.

In other news, everyone should see Sicario.

  4. Fury Road just black and white with the score only, kind of indicates how awesome it is when it still works.

Not a lot going on my arse, dont always need massive painted signs explaining everything, when visually it introduces everything perfectly.

  5. I want to start working in a fartlek type run every week to try to improve my pace a little bit.

I don't know a whole heap about it, is it just something I can do on my normal 5km run, or is that too long for this sort of thing?

How long should my slow and quicker intervals be?

I do fartlek intervals as part of my marathon training.

I do specific runs for them and usually on the local cycle path so can control the distance and pace easier.

If you have a watch they will be easier to keep track of but something that records your time should work fine.

It would be worth figuring out your goal pace, you can do that here... https://www.mcmillanrunning.com/even if its just an estimate.

This is how its worded on my training plan...

    Fartlek Run

    50m - 1h 10m

    Workout

Include 4-6 x 3 minutes at 10K effort, 1 minute recovery jog between each repetition; include a warm-up and cool-down

SO essentially i run easy for 10mins, then quick for 3 mins (but not too quick) walk for a min, repeat x number of times. Could go quicker for 2 mins walk for 1, whatever really.

    Very handy workout.

  6. Anyone done marathon training which includes progressive runs on your weekly long run?

I have a 10miler to do this Sunday with the last 20 mins 'quicker' but how much quicker?

  7. I thought it was a really top notch action movie, and I also think the editing deserves extra praise as it's some of the best i've seen in an action movie.

Thats what happens when you get a 70+ old dear to edit your action film ;)

  8. I think there may be an element of truth to him not wanting to leave London again. He didnt want to leave Arsenal but the silly money City were offering was a small sacrifice. Like most footballers driven by money. Boy does he like to boast how much money he has

Pretty sure most of his wages go to charities in Togo

Yup and a lot to his family as well.

  9. Yep, quite a few 'ITK' types are going have their fingers burnt on this one if the deal doesn't go through.

Not really, things change. By all accounts medical, photos etc were all done; meaning its pretty much was done and dusted.

Nobody could foresee one individual changing their mind.

So even when the ITKs are wrong, they're not wrong.

I might start being one of these ITK chaps. Sounds easy.

If your foolish enough to claim to be one then your always open to attack.

However, if i know the bloke at VP who makes the burgers and he saw Messi walking around with a contract and he told me, that doesn't mean he had signed the contract.

Basically if you do have some limited knowledge only worth saying it how it is, we were talking to Messi but it didn't come off, thats not as exciting though.
