  1. Find it absurd for a premier league club to wait for a sale before announcing a new signing. So what if collins does not go through? Do we tell vlaar to go back home? Very odd. Although I'm sure there's a more logical explanation for this delay

  2. From footballcourier.com

Manchester City management must make a decision over the future of John Guidetti.

The Manchester Evening News says Guidetti has made it plain that he only wants to remain with the Blues if he gets a sniff of a first-team chance, but with Carlos Tevez, Sergio Aguero, Mario Balotelli and Edin Dzeko all ahead of him in the pecking order, that looks difficult.

City would be looking for a big fee for the player after his exploits in Holland, with the bidding starting at £6.3m.

But they would also be happy to give him another season on loan, either in the Premier League or Serie A – that would give them a clearer indication of his ability when playing regularly at a good level

Could be a bargain if we got him

  3. Man City striker John Guidetti. Where was he on loan last season? Feyenoord!

    Scored 20 goals.

This is a player I certainly would be happy with and excited about. Just think we will have the spine of feyenoord in our team and they will gel well together with Vlaar, El Ahmadi and Guidetti.

Bent and Guidetti would be an awesome partnership Makes so much sense this signing, add to it a quality winger and LB and were ready for the season

  4. And MirrorFootball understands one of those complications is his inability to pass the English language test, after he discontinued lessons while he was living in Greece.

Is this for getting a 2nd visa only?

Surely they could have these English tests for englishmen as well like Rooney or carragher ;)

Beggers the question why he couldnt use the initial english language certificate, if this is not possible then how did he manage to pass the first test for his initial visa and now struggling to do this test again, its pretty much the same damn test!!

  5. Id like us to sign a classy attacking midfielder. I can fully expect more often than not that ireland will be a bypasser in a game or he just wont be influential enough. He doesn't score enough for me.

So I would like a decent back up to him, whilst we are raiding the Dutch league we ought to go for Filip Djuricic from Heerenveen, only 20 years old and has bags of skills, can score, incisive passes and would be cheap!

  6. right this english language story is definitely dodgy. #you need a very basic knowledge of English language to enter on that particular visa, called A1 CEFCR, it is the most basic of basics of English which any tom dick and harry can pass. Think of a ruler as a yardstick for learning English and A1 is at THE very bottom

Tier 2 (Sportsperson), you must be

able to understand and use familiar everyday expressions and very basic phrases, to

introduce yourself and others, and to ask and answer questions about very basic personal

details. This must be equivalent to level A1 or above on the CEFR.

Taken from UKBA Tier 2 policy guidance

Secondly, he entered the UK a year ago, the english language certificate he used previously would still be valid this time round. As I said in my previous post, all too dodgy or perhaps just a bogus report...who knows

  7. Being an Immigration Consultant I'll give my 2 pence on the Makoun work permit story:

I do find this story rather perplexing given that Makoun signed for us in 2011 and therefore would have received a 3 year visa. The fact that he was loaned out on a temporary basis would have meant that AVFC would have had to contact the UKBA and inform them of this temporary arrangement. From my understanding this ought not to invalidate his 3 year visa, which allows him to freely leave and re-enter the UK within that 3 year period.

The only reason for requiring entry permission is if his previous visa has been invalidated. If it is seen that he is no longer an employee of AVFC then this may well be the case for requiring entry clearance. Well there may be a legitimate reason why he requires entry clearance which we simply are not privy to!

On the face of it though, it does seem rather odd!

On Guzan, I would presume he already has a visa to remain in the UK, therefore no issues there.

  8. ive just checked on a west ham forum Knees Up Mother Brown, literally no mention of clyne whatsoever except someone stating clyne to villa, lets hope we sign him, brahimi and whittingham very soon

I hope that you are right

to be fair i only checked two days worth, today and yesterday (got tired doing control find clyne) lol but boy do they get through a number of pages per day on that forum

  9. Hi guys, newbie to the site but have watched from afar for many months.

I want to throw something out there. Not its one anything and fully aware of the possibility for me looking a fool, but I have something interesting for you to think about/discuss/rip the p etc etc.

AVB signed his contract with Chelsea on 22nd June 2011. Hewas sacked 4th March 2012. Chelsea paid 13m compo to take him from Porto which was on that years accounts. It is widely acknowledged at AVB is still currently on the Stamford Bridge payroll so is it possible that they are seeing out the first 12 months of his contract before paying off the remainder(in this years accounts) that being he case, AVB is effectively not available for further employment ( due to a probable contract clause until after 23 June 2012)

Now I know this is a long shot, but would this not tie in with MM comment about this dragging on bait and also explain with things are so obviously quiet.

As I say, not itk, and possibly not the best way to introduce myself to the forum with a speculative punt, but hey, you only live once!!!

Plausible explanation of things. When AVB's agent stated that AVB was after a longevity and looking for a "project" Randy and Faulkner should have got on the phone like a shot because this ties in with their "vibrant dynamic" statement. He is out of the Liverpool role, and if his agents comments are true, then AVB's employment prospects fits in nicely with our ethos for the future. If Mcleish was the 19th highest paid manager in the world, then AVB should settle for something the same. Was he earning more than that at Porto? Leaving Chelsea, having not done so well, one would expect not to have the same level of wages. If he is interested in the Roma job, will not be as high as the villa job. I think AVB will be a perfect fit for the Villa! He is the only manager who will excite the crowd, after OGS!!

  10. What's all this jive about Molde's investors threatening to pull out of the club if OGS comes to us? Mat Kendrick has just said that his Norwegian counterparts are saying that Molde have confirmed this... As he suggests, does this not seem like a major dose of emotional blackmail?

Like a desperate girlfriend saying "Fine, leave me for that more attractive girl. But if you do I'LL KILL MYSELF!"

It does worry me to be honest. Ole seems like a genuinely good guy and he might find it hard to up sticks if it means leaving Molde in serious trouble.

This was my thoughts exactly, although I read somewhere that Rokke was to pull out of investments regardless of OGS contact with Villa. If i was OGS id be pretty pissed being held as a scapegoat!!
