  1. Hi guys, newbie to the site but have watched from afar for many months.

I want to throw something out there. Not its one anything and fully aware of the possibility for me looking a fool, but I have something interesting for you to think about/discuss/rip the p etc etc.

AVB signed his contract with Chelsea on 22nd June 2011. Hewas sacked 4th March 2012. Chelsea paid 13m compo to take him from Porto which was on that years accounts. It is widely acknowledged at AVB is still currently on the Stamford Bridge payroll so is it possible that they are seeing out the first 12 months of his contract before paying off the remainder(in this years accounts) that being he case, AVB is effectively not available for further employment ( due to a probable contract clause until after 23 June 2012)

Now I know this is a long shot, but would this not tie in with MM comment about this dragging on bait and also explain with things are so obviously quiet.

As I say, not itk, and possibly not the best way to introduce myself to the forum with a speculative punt, but hey, you only live once!!!

Plausible explanation of things. When AVB's agent stated that AVB was after a longevity and looking for a "project" Randy and Faulkner should have got on the phone like a shot because this ties in with their "vibrant dynamic" statement. He is out of the Liverpool role, and if his agents comments are true, then AVB's employment prospects fits in nicely with our ethos for the future. If Mcleish was the 19th highest paid manager in the world, then AVB should settle for something the same. Was he earning more than that at Porto? Leaving Chelsea, having not done so well, one would expect not to have the same level of wages. If he is interested in the Roma job, will not be as high as the villa job. I think AVB will be a perfect fit for the Villa! He is the only manager who will excite the crowd, after OGS!!

  2. What's all this jive about Molde's investors threatening to pull out of the club if OGS comes to us? Mat Kendrick has just said that his Norwegian counterparts are saying that Molde have confirmed this... As he suggests, does this not seem like a major dose of emotional blackmail?

Like a desperate girlfriend saying "Fine, leave me for that more attractive girl. But if you do I'LL KILL MYSELF!"

It does worry me to be honest. Ole seems like a genuinely good guy and he might find it hard to up sticks if it means leaving Molde in serious trouble.

This was my thoughts exactly, although I read somewhere that Rokke was to pull out of investments regardless of OGS contact with Villa. If i was OGS id be pretty pissed being held as a scapegoat!!

  3. James nursery, matt kendrick have all said they doubt that he will be here next week. What pissed me off were those sky sports prick of pundits, when asked "is it ever possible for birmingham manager to take reigns at villa" merson replies "no" merse even states that he doesn't blame Mcleish and blames the fans.

Sorry but if we went out and hired chris hughton then I would not complain! They were even laughing when it was announced that villa spurs was game of the day on sky sports 1! Hate those rocket polishers!

  4. Fabio Capello is looking for English premier league job! Any manager we get will be better than Mcleish, 16 draws in the premier league, no other team come anywhere near close to that number, next in line are Sunderland with 12. Im sure any other manager would not have had such a high draw statistic. had we won at least 5 of those games we would be on 47 points and palced 10th in league. 11 draws in a season looking like an average draw turnaround absed on this season!

Our team isnt't that bad but we just need a manager who believes in his players and gets the best out of them

  5. Seeing Ireland play for the last 20 mins or so against FV Braga, he definitely wasnt anonymous. There was nothing wow about his performance but he certainly got stuck in. Was nice to see him track back and get stuck in with the defense. had sum good touches here and there. Hopefully he finally his mind in the right place. He probably will go missing in some games but think he will be important player so long as we feed him the balls that we need.

side note, emile of the heskey didnt play too bad on the wings, who would've thought that!

  6. General,

Please liaise with Randy and make him realise that we need some MORE players to have a hope of chance of competing with the top 6/7. todays friendly against Chelsea really does highlight this, we are a gaping hole without last season's two stars Downing and Ashley.

Thanks for the acquisition of Given and NZog, top class buys, but I think you will find that all fans will be singing on the same page if we brought in a few more players.

  7. I feel for Ireland today, he did go missing but where was the supply from the defensive midfield? petrov and delph just wernt supplying the balls, they do not create the space needed to give the defence a breather nor can they supply the balls. with Makoun on he does have that ability, we soo badly need a quality defensive midfielder, our midfield was soo poor in the first half it was unbelievable.
