  1. I dunno mate i'd say each to there own but in the games Bannan has played so far he's done nothing but disappoint me. Looks for the hollywood pass way too often. I'm hopeful though that he will slot in nicely with the type of football Lambert is hoping to get us to play.

If Bannan has done nothing but disappoint you then I don't think you've watched much of him play at all. He does go for ambitious passes but a lot of the time he completes them - I don't think we have a better passer of the ball at the club in terms of range and accuracy.

I'm a home season ticket holder. So unless he only plays well in away games i have to disagree with you.

  2. I kinda agree with your ifs !

If we sign a couple more players

If our academy kids come good

Then yes I agree we would have a pretty good season - 10th or above. I am getting more doubtful by the day of significant additions to the squad

..and in the last 5 years only gabby has come through the academy to hold a regular place in the squad - throw in Cahill who has done it elsewhere.....

But yes if Baker, Bannan, Gardner, Clark,Weiman, Carruthers, Herd, Lichaj - all perform consistently at premier level this season then I will be happy .............(and surprised)

I don't have much doubt about Clark, Lichaj, Bannan, Baker and Herd at this point - I think what we've seen of them shows that they are good enough to be in the squad. That leaves the uncertains - Gardner, Weimann, Carruthers; the latter 2 showing signs of being able to cope with Gardner (IMO) not really showing anything yet.

Even if we don't sign anyone else and the uncertains can't cut it, I don't think we'll do worse than about 15th - and considering that there has been wholesale change going on, in pretty much every area - that'd do.

I understand it's just your opinion but how you can say that Bannan is good enough to be in the squad but you're unsure and Weimann is beyond me. I'd say Bannan has got everything to prove!

Bannan has played 40 games for the club and for me, has looked the part in most of them. Now, he has the chance to play in a side that actually plays to his strengths and if the pre-season is anything to go by, he'll do well for us.

Weimann has played fewer games and hasn't had as much of a chance to shine yet - he's shown glimpses of what he can do but it's still a bit premature to say that he's good enough yet. I have hopes for him and I don't think he's going to let us down but it's still too early to say.

  4. I've been one of the 'Happy Clappy' Villa fans for a while now and i was under the opinion that Villa would spend this summer but i have to admit i'm becoming disillusioned by the board.

People have said that the early signings were just to increase season ticket sales and I honestly sat reading these comments thinking how stupid the people saying those things must really be, but maybe they were right!

Villa fans are fickle and should we spend £20 mil in the next 7 days i'll probably be back to singing Lerners praises but at the moment i am one very unhappy and disappointed Villa fan

  5. Haven't Lambert & Faulkner pretty much said we're done for this window now ?

Or is that a smokescreen ? IMHO we need 4 more players but I just cannot see how that will happen

Lambert hasn't said anything. Faulkner has supposedly tweeted some PR crap about sensible spending, which is one of the catalysts for some negativity on here.

I see QPR have agreed a 5.5m fee for Turner of Spurs. That's our net spend this window so far. Depressing.

I'm guessing you mean Dawson not Turner and the rumours are it's over £9mil that they're paying....

  6. another player that would improve us is seb larsson, from out on the wing he can put a cracking cross in, plus his free kicks are good.

imo if we could get adam, larsson, defoe and a right back in before the end of the month our first eleven would be a match for most teams outside the top four. i think that that we could get all four players for around 16mil. what the squad needs is players who can go straight into the first eleven now

You honestly think a RB is more urgent than a LB?

  7. Richard

Major problem is hutton and warnock are so shit they wouldnt make it in the blue square prem think villa should terminate both and pay there contract ups we have paid for shit managers to join and leave so lets just bin the idiots off

Would probably cost 10 million + to pay off Warnock and Hutton after loyalty bonuses etc. Might eat into the transfer budget a bit?

The this is a utter utter joke and heads need to roll the fact is we had NRC spend 8mi and let him go for 0 we had King Carlos and he went for 0 we signed warnock for 9m that makes me wanna cry higher management should be made accountable and hold there hands up were a shambles and Lambert is the only good thing we got

Transfer window hasn't closed yet, chill your bean and calm down for your health if nothing else!
