Zouma would be a big improvement on Taylor and I wouldn't say no to him arriving.
What a weird comparison

Off topic but I think the Bruno Lage to replace Smith was either somewhat true or they got confused as he is Now lined up to manage ...You guesses it vitoria SC ... probs until Smith gets the boot.
Back on topic If you put the pieces together regarding Suso’s departure then I reckon his replacement would be fully lined up and may be on notice/garden leave or is already briefed and working on targets before their official appointment is announced. No way we would put ourselves at a disadvantage by not having a plan in place.
Tiago, the former Chelsea midfielder, got the job earlier today.

Am I misding sonething or on the day we decide to pump crosses into the box we drop our big, strong aerial striker for the fast poacher?
Weird criticism, Samatta is very good in the air

I’d been looking for that marshmallow porter since I saw you mention it in here. That was a strange coincidence, I’d literally just ordered a box when you sent that picture. Hope you managed to get some!

Are there any beers out there you want to try that you haven't been able to get your hands on yet? Couple for me here for starters.
I need to find an online merchant that has all the ones I want.
Get on the Tiny Rebel site now for the latter, added some boxes today

I was sitting two rows back from the dugout on Saturday in with the home fans. After El Ghazi walked down the tunnel Hourihane was straight onto the physio asking what the problem was, it didn't look like either him or Elmo were particularly impressed with the explanation given the level of eye rolling.
I'm a fan of El Ghazi but the reaction of two of the more senior members of the squad was quite damning in my eyes.

The last League cup final we were in one of our much maligned strikers scored an absolute thunderbolt.
No, James Milner scored a penalty

To be fair though, fans want a striker for sure but, I'm sure they're thinking someone who will play and look like scoring? Not saying Baston won't but his career stats don't really give much hope.
Samatta is that player, the third choice striker will have been signed hoping he will never play. He’s unlikely to even be involved in our match day squads barring injury/suspension

For me it's the pressure of staying up. A good striker would guarantee us surviving. Samatta and Davis don't really fill that gap for me. Samatta could be good but he's an unknown and looked very much off the pace. Davis for me won't score enough.
I think our work this window is not really going to come close to guaranteeing us survival, it's going to be very tight.
But Samatta is the guy who was clearly signed to be our first choice striker, it’s fine not to agree with that but that is the choice the club has made. I don’t think anyone we signed could have guaranteed us survival
-
Samatta is our Wesley replacement, Davis getting fit is a massive plus and meant that anyone we signed was just going to be a body. Someone with a 1 in 3 record in the Championship is probably as good as we could have hoped for, he will hopefully never start a game for us, as would have been the case with whoever we signed for this role.

Luiz was so poor when we played Watford in December, physically dominated by their midfield and gave away a brainless penalty. I rate him but can see why he’s not starting, I’m actually glad he’s not got back in the side off the back of one pass. He does seem to have more of an impact off the bench currently

Maybe that's because you completely moved the goalposts from the original point.
Someone made the point that people weren't exactly queuing up to pluck Mings out of Bournemouth's reserves last year, nor was it unanimously celebrated as a signing on here (rightfully so given his injury record).
Your response of 'even Doris the Tea Lady knew we needed him' completely missed the point being made; that whilst we all might well have known we needed a Centre Half last January, it was our Recruitment team that made the masterstroke of getting Mings in. I twasn't in anyway an obvious signing, most of the early pages of his thread are filled with people assuming he was signed to replace Taylor at left back.
It's completely rewriting history and harms any chance of serious debate, particularly given the infantile and unfunny allusion to Doris the Tea Lady.

You assume that Maupay wants to comes here when we've spent 20 million and 50k per week on another striker in Wes, when we intend on playing one up front?......

When you think of where their players came from, the management team have taken them and turned them into World Champions.
Robertson from Hull, Van Dijk from Celtic, Gomez from Charlton, Henderson from Sunderland, Wijnaldum from Newcastle, Lallana and Mane from Southampton, Salah from Roma (previously shown the exit door at Chelsea) etc.
It's not like Liverpool have been taking players from the very best clubs around Europe or England. They've taken good players from less glamorous clubs and made them look unbeatable.
Van Dijk was signed from Southampton

Lovely little touch to start the move for the goal, he was also heavily involved in the break for Grealish’s goal at Burnley. He just needs to have more of a consistent impact, frustrating player to watch but you can’t fault his effort.

This a very good, if flawed, film. It's just not a very good film about the Joker.
Nail on the head for me, agree with everything you’ve written.
The inclusion of the Waynes massively harmed the overall effectiveness of the film in my eyes, great performance and very well made though it may be.

Are you not allowed to fall to the ground without it being a dive?
Not only did he not appeal, he actually provided an assist as he was falling to the ground!

But his assists come from set pieces as well as his goals. So what do you do with him? I don't know.
That’s just not true though is it, the few games he played in an advanced role in our winning run he scored 3 goals from open play (2 against Derby and the winner against Bristol City). He scored a hat trick against Norwich the season before which were all from open play and his pivotal goal in the play offs was from open play. Swansea away he scored the winning goal with a header from open play, there are a lot more examples as well.
I’m not advocating him starting ahead of Grealish or McGinn but he is by far our best midfielder for arriving into the box late. The fact his set pieces are so good as well shouldn’t take away from that fact. Great option to have in the squad and seemingly a great professional as well.
