  1. Im thinking niether Moyes or Hughes would get us into the top 4. Are we looking for a future top 4, or are we looking to get back into top 6. If we are looking towards the future, we are gonna need the likes of, Ancellotti, Rikaard, klinsman, maybe Jol. But not standard Managers like Moyes or Hughes????

I dont believe its all about money to get top 4. We need a top top manager to develop Players we can afford. We can still get quality players without spending 50-100 million. Just needs a class manager get our team up with the best!!

  2. Hughes was not great at Man City...His signings are pretty poor..Is he a special one that can take Villa forward,or just your run of mill stop gap to keep us "the best of the rest"?

    Lescott

    Bridge

    SWP

    Santa Cruz

All very expensive signings yet give very little..A dose of the MON's maybe??

Not true at all. His signings are still the spine of the side, he signed kompany, de jong and tevez. Also zabaleta who has been a big part of the defense. Lets not forget barry either.

Also lescott has finally settled in. You'd have him at the villa in a heart
    beat.

    No we fookin would'nt!!!!

  3. can't see it though as he'll get offers from Roma etc

He wants to stay in England

    From Ancellotti

'I love the atmosphere in England. Everyone respects your job, there is no violence, the stadiums are full. That's the reason I want to stay here. If it's not possible, then I am Italian and if there are opportunities in Italy, I will take them.

  4. Chelsea have been heavily linked to gus Hiddink and he said he would quit Turkey if an offer was on the table.

Its all speculation we know. I think Ancellotti thinks his going becasue every other manager who has not brought a trophy home has got sacked by Abramovich. He would'nt go a to West Ham, they will have o'neil in the end I reckon.

Would be an amazing move though to Villa, all day long over Moyes!

It aint gonna happen though................is it????

There's gotta be a health and safety aspect to Houllier coming back. Like if he became ill again or even, ya know, goes. Villa would be to blame for employing him surely. Unless that is what his solicitor was for the other day, to get something written up!

  5. Yup, I'm sure Everton would have been relegated by now if it wasn't for Moyes. They are a very poor club.

Yeah his done well with average players??????????

    Jagielka

    Bains

    Distin

    Hetinger

    Rodwell

    Neville

    Osman

    Arteta

    Felanini

    cahill

    Saha

    Beckford

    anichebe

OK so some are average but you would expect a top 6 side with these players surely.

He's not a over exelled in my eyes!

  6. Ancellotti has quoted, he's not really bothered if he gets the sack from Chelsea. He has also stated if this happened he would want to stay in the Premiership not particulary with a champions league club, just as long as it was a challenge.

I think he had a bit of a fallout with Abramovich over the Wilkins situation and to be fair Abramovich has showed us before he does hold grudges and does not forget.

"Ancelloti we are waiting for you!

Ive already expressed my views on Moyes and would think/hope we are bigger than to take Hughes as our manager!

    link?

Maybe some truth in the rumours then.

    Ancellotti + Wilkins would orgasmic.

Cant find link now but read it earlier in the week.

He actually said if sacked he would'nt cry and he would drop out of champions league football if a club came along with the right ambition.

Probably reading a bit to much into this, but would be the best move possible for me!!!!!

  8. Hmmm, maybe be worth the risk rather than take on Moyes.

I just want some exciting football to Villa and to me that means taking on a foreign manager.

I keep reading Houllier is working on the new season, list of transfers, planning the pre training. Maybe were all barking up the wrong tree and Houllier is staying. I for one would welcome this. Im a little worried if we take on a new manager, he would'nt really know the players. Like who needs to leave and who we need to bring in. Moyes started last season with 2 points from 6 games with his own team and this worries me.

I think we would still need to change our number 2 though. He had a good game against Arsenal, but remember Houllier was pulling the strings.

  9. Im not one of those 48%,

Do you 48% really believe its just about money why Moyes has not made the big time. He may get the best out of the players (sometimes) but he finished 5th 07-08 5th 08-09 and dropped this season and last. Its not all about money. I think he's another MON. I mean he may not have lots to spend, but there are some good quality players in the side and he has bought players in, which have'nt really performed for him.

Seems good to average. The likes of Klinsman, Ancelloti would do me!

  10. quote]

its a load of old bollox anyway and vastly overated.....id rather the fizzy pop league any day of the week, waking up on them cold frosty saturday mornings and you got to go to leeds, pompey, bristol, cardiff etc etc...plus the chance of the kick off, exciting times ahead me thinks...barnsley i always have a pie, mash, gravy and mint sauce in a shop up there!fecking great away day where you can take loads....

  11. Van Gaal, Rijkaard, Koeman, Jol, for me, has to be foreign for the style of play they can bring. Moyes, Coyle, Hughes. Your all mad, and I tell you. Moyes would be no better than MON. Coyle has no big transfer experience and plays footaball like hollaway, guess what, its been found out! Hughes no taa and Lambert, comon guys, has no Premiership experience no real big transfer experience, a definate no, no for me!

No better than MON? 3 top 6 finishes, cup final and a team always fighting for points and never say die? Yeah your right lets get Koeman... a man who is useless as a manager!

Stoke do this, but i'd never have Tony Pulis

  13. I think the board's stance may well be down to them wanting Moyes as first choice for a replacement.

If Houllier wants to continue and the board effectively sack him there is next to no chance of getting Moyes, a good friend of Ged, to replace him.

However, if Houllier decides to call it a day himself, he may be crucial in tempting Moyes to VP.

Therefore, even if the board think on balance they want Houllier gone, they may decide to wait until he himself gives them a firm indication of what he wants to do.

My belief is if we are going to be title/cup challengers for the seasons ahead, we are going to need a foreign manager with a different style of football. We have resonable financial backing with Lerner, but he is no Mansoor, so the only way we are going to be better is with great football. Moyes is a great motivator, but reminds me to much of MON. He will have more money to spend yeah, but do we really think he will head us into say, Championship football in the future. Lambert, great manager in the lower leagues, but the Premier league is completely different not enough experience for me I would worry about taking a gamble this time, a definate no no! Coyle, again good but not great.
