    Under Emery, very much improved...

However he was poor against Everton, gave the ball away three times in the first ten/fifteen minutes of the game...

Obvious on a replay isn't the same as being obvious in real time. Obviously I didn't mean it was obvious in real time, I was talking about from the pictures we were shown.

    Also:

Yeah, obvious but not obvious...got ya!

The commentators could see Bailey was offside. They were confused, like everyone else, as to why it was taking so long and why they were looking at the position of Lenglet after Moreno shot. Nobody was in any doubt about whether Bailey was on or off.

It doesn't have to be clear and obvious for offside

Nah, for a few minutes they thought it was a goal too...

They spent awhile talking about the possible infringement by Lenglet before arriving at offside...

So obvious neither the referee nor linesman gave it...

It was clearly offside before they even drew the lines. Everyone was baffled as to why it took so long because it was obvious

Not to the commentators it certainly wasn't, they had no idea. Then neither the referee or linesman, they didn't give it because it was not obvious at all. Hence it took just over four minutes by VAR.

what you don't see from that angle/screenshot is the point when the ball is being played forward.

    Absolutely no idea.

Lines can be drawn at anytime, but if you cant see when the ball is being played forward then it's guess work at best and that imo is why they took 3 minutes 45 seconds to make a decision.

Yeah exactly, certainly was NOT 'Clear and Obvious'...

You cant judge it as offside without seeing both the player in aline and the player who played the ball, when it was played/struck.

On first look, in live play it looked offside, I saw a video from the other side of the pitch and It looked closer.

The real bad decision against Everton was the Diaby leg breaker,  I don't even care the penalty wasn't given its just that a career changing challenge was completely ignored, disgraceful tbh. Saka and Arsenal would have had the whole Everton team sent off for that and the media attention would be huge, we get nothing.

Agreed, only with that line did it look offside and it was from a specific angle.

Took four minutes which is ridiculously long...

"clear and obvious" is the worst thing about VAR and always has been

    It was offside

Certainly wasn't clear and obvious as it took three minutes...

The commentators were speechless with the decision which says a lot, looked level to me...

The SU one was the 3rd worst decision in the game. The disallowed goal was clearly a new phase of play and Baldock clearly handballs it.

But the Everton one was offside

    No way...

The rules are 'clear and obvious', they took over three minutes to make a decision.

  7. Villa have been done a few times now...

Penalty against Sheff. Utd, blatant two-handed push in the box on Watkins. Definite pen.

Disallowed goal against Everton, definitely onside. Still a shocking decision.

Same game the challenge/assault from Tarkowski on Diaby; the more I see it, looks like a penalty and card offence.

Potentially has cost the Villa four points in the PL.

  8. Sure I hope Villa are competitive and try to win every match however I'd prefer to keep a few players fresh for the Barcodes.

McGinn, Konsa, Luiz, Watkins could all do with a rest as they have been practically ever-present this season.

I saw this on twitter earlier. Supposed leaks for Elite club Trefoil jackets (does have a Roma one too) Not so sure of the Juve one but a Claret and Blue one would potentially look good.

Would like great with a monochrome (Gold) lion.

maybe the club want it leaked. It does happen where companies legitimately get things leaked to suit the narrative.

    Just saying it happens

    Precisely.

Happens in every industry e.g 'test screenings' for movies is one example.

Subliminal messages in advertising ALL the time too....

  11. Currently watching The Brothers Sun on Netflix, I've always liked Asian films and TV and I'm enjoying this so far (two episodes in)...

It has some familiar Chinese themes but yet turns often used stereotypes around, it is dark and comedic in equal measure.

Michelle Yeoh is the standout star but a good supporting cast.

Really, only if we need to sell to grow the squad would I say yes to selling a first teamer. Hopefully between losing the salaries of Chambers, Donk, Coutinho and Traore, and the boost from expected CL, we don't need to

    Sanson too hopefully...

Five players to go; potentially quite a hefty salary off the books in total.

  13. Emile Smith-Rowe has a terrible injury record, it would be madness to sign him.

Good player on his day but that is few and far between, also I wouldn't like to give Arsenal my p*** if they were on fire let alone £20 million +

  14. Kamara Man of the Match for me, just class.

Moreno and Martinez also very good.

Dycheball, thought we'd see it, thuggery. Tarkowski should have been sent off. Coleman is a little p***k too, he's got a screw loose.

VAR killed us again, like the Sheffield United game. That was a goal, even the commentators were dumbfounded. Absolute farce, seems like a conspiracy as the PL would much rather have other teams in Villa's place.

Villa should be four points better off and top of the PL.

  15. Dycheball, they won't make it easy and expecting some tough tackles to rough us up.

Everton create chances though and this will be a tough game.

Hopefully Villa can be strong from the beginning.
