Ah right, I thought it was the other way around! Oh well, we will see. What about Buendia too, is he out and out right wing or is he more central?

I think he prefers the right but can play central. It is interesting to see how Dean plans to fit it all together! We will likely be less predictable this season.

I think similar but I think Bailey will be left with Ings centrally behind Ollie.

Do you not think that leaves us a little unbalanced? I also think that Bailey prefers the right (although he is comfortable on the left). It will be interesting to find out I guess. All eyes on Saturday!

We expecting to sell someone? Right now we have:

    Douglas

    McGinn

    Nakamba

    Sanson

    Chukemwueka

    Ramsey

    Buendia

Who can all play #8. I'd say 1 more quality midfielder, preferably a DM would be nice. But I don't think we need 2.

We need better quality. Hopefully Buendia will be class but the others are nowhere near the quality for a top 6 team yet. They might get there but they are not there yet.

  4. Think we may go with a more narrow front 3 and look to bolster the midfield. 2 holders with Emi in a more advanced central role and a narrow front 3 of Ings, Ollie and Bailey! More width from our full backs.

I’m starting to think, I’d rather go with what we’ve got, bar maybe one further signing, than be rinsed by other clubs for their share of the Grealish money. I don’t think this season will be what we wanted it to be now but equally I don’t think we will struggle (although could get off to shaky start due to all this leading up to it).

That 100mil will be the only silver lining of losing Jack and I’d be gutted if we just squandered it, overpaying for average players.

Totally agree. We need to target clubs who are desperate for cash. That means shopping outside the PL if we do shop.

I sense that his dad could become a peculiar nuisance in the future.

I suspect that Villa are delaying the announcement just to try and teach him a lesson. I also suspect that our unusual initial announcement was partially due to not being able to get this man to shut his mouth!

  7. I had a bit of a wobble earlier but the truth is, nobody knows anything outside of AVFC, Shitty and Jack’s team. Stuff is clearly happening but the outcome appears to be uncertain at this stage.

I think the likelihood is that City and Villa are trying to reach agreement. The devil as always will be in the detail. I suspect that a deadline will have been agreed. If no agreement is reached by then, Jack will stay, otherwise he is off. That’s my take. We just have to wait it out!

  8. Axel will be 24 in a few months and has about 70 senior appearances to his name, some of which are coming on as sub. I know people will quote what happened to Mings as an example of how things can change but he had a couple of serious one off injuries. Axel just seems to get lots of niggles. Would be a bonkers move in my view unless he was on a free!

Tammy is quite close to Watkins in terms of style and quality,so would give good competition. However, I think Watkins is slightly ahead so Tammy would have to make do in the bench unless he improves. The jury is out on Wesley, but from what I've seen Tammy would suit or style better. If the price is right it would be a good addition. The price is definitely wrong at 40m though! Around the 20m mark or a loan to buy would make this a no brainer.

I do not see this at all. They are totally different players. Ollie is a hard working striker, great at working the channels, great with his back to goal, great at pressing a defence and generally offering an outlet for a team.
Tammy is 100% a fox in the box. He is a Darren Bent type but obviously a better version.

  10. Tammy is a striker for a team who dominate the ball. He does not suit the way that we play. I would be amazed if we are interested and also very disappointed.
If Jack does go we would be better off signing 2 top quality central midfield players and 1 top quality versatile forward who can play across the line. Add in a back up gk and ch and we are cooked.

  11. All along I have totally believed that Jack will stay. The events of the past few days have started to change my view. His behaviour is odd. The fact that he is not training properly is odd. The fact that we are suddenly linked with all sorts of new players is odd. The timing and nature of the Bailey announcement is odd!

I really hope that I am wrong but my gut tells me that this now has legs. If he does go and we buy Tammy, Axel and JWP with the money, I would be really gutted to be fair.
