COME ON VILLA!!!

Which is of course typical of sides who are mentally weak, going on historic winning runs.
How has our home form been since that game?

We scored perfectly legit opening goal that was ruled out that changed course of the game.
Oh give me a break. We were on a 15 game home winning streak and had just beaten Man City and Arsenal back to back. We were playing a side who have 16 points after 31 games.
That's an embarrassing excuse.

Who Picks up more points and grabs 4th?
The only game I'm confident of us winning of that lot is Bournemouth home. We havent won a game against a decent side since Arsenal in December. Our record against the top 8 since then is this

Wasn't this the second time all season we've dropped points from a winning position? We're literally the most resolute team in the league in this regard.
We had a chance to go top at Xmas and failed to beat bottom of the league at home, scraping a last minute draw we didnt deserve.
We had a chance to make a statement win against Spurs at home and got thrashed.
We had a chance to put the pressure on Spurs by playing before them and bottled a 2-0 lead.
We're mentally fragile in big games.

Well we are almost where the media want us now - not quite though because plucky little Aston Villa surely should not be qualifying for the CL. If not one of the so called big 6, surely it should be everyone's supposed second team Newcastle. . They will be so thrilled to see Spurs in 4th though. Sickening. They all love big Ange so much too
Sorry but this is absolute bollocks. The media have been praising us all season and have constantly ridiculed Spurs for years because they wont win anything with talented teams.
But by all means play the victim card if you like. Everyone's out to get Aston Villa. We're turning into Liverpool fans it seems.

If Arsenal were to draw 0-0 against Bayern twice and go through on penalties, what does that mean for the coefficient?
Why not just wait until it's decided? Get some fresh air or something.

I'm no defeatist but It's far more likely that we finish about 6 points behind Spurs than ahead of them. I dont care what fixtures they have left. We scraped a draw at home to Brentford when 2-0 up. We're mentally fragile and have blown big games several times this season. As soon as we get close, if we do again, we'll blow it again. The only way we're getting CL football is if 5th place gets us it. Whatever will be will be on that front.

Haven't people got better things to do with their weekends than watching and stressing over another team's result with 8 games to go?
-
My priority, as it has been all season, was to win the Conference League. We are the best team in the competition and we have a better chance to win it even at this stage than the finals we've reached in the last 15 years simply because of the opposition we will face, if we reach the final, won't be as good as Man Utd, Arsenal or Man City.
I don't get giddy about the thought of Champions League football as much as most on this forum do. I know it would be something new and exciting but a trophy is a memory that will last forever, especially a European one. Ask Newcastle fans how good reaching the CL was for them. I mean, they've gone from strength to strength
I would take winning the Conference League even if we fell to 6th in a heartbeat. Quite frankly, I would question anyone who says otherwise why they even support a team in the first place.

Really poor today. Final ball was shocking all game. Wasn't effective cutting in either as they seemed to read him.

Two points dropped. It's no good resting players midweek is you spontaneously combust when 2-0 up, at home, against a team who had basically given up, in 5 minutes.
We should hang our heads in shame after **** that up. Just what we needed before a big European tie.

Bailey's final ball has been horrendous today.

If we lose this, it's one of the very worst games in Villa's Premier League history. Make no mistake.

This is about as typical Villa a thing as you will ever see. Dominating a game only to throw it away in 2 minutes.

A point would be amazing. When was the last time we got at least a point at the Etihad? Has to be 2009 at the latest. Probably more like 2007. Which is crazy.
2007. 13 losses in a row in the Premier League. 8 of them we didnt score in. In that time we also lost an FA Cup tie, also with scoring.
We did win a League Cup tie there in 2012 against a second XI. For what it's worth.

He caught that rather well.

Amazing pass. That was the sort of Ollie finishing from when he's on a dry spell.
-
I think if we get a goal early, we're gonna batter this lot.
-
Diaby and Bailey. Interesting.

This has got to be a wind up.
As I've already explained, it's a misunderstanding. I just worded my post poorly.

You're right to point out that for our Kane and Bellingham, other teams have top individuals as well, but I can't see someone single out Jordan **** Pickford as one of the strengths of this squad and keep a straight face.
You misunderstand. I was saying the defence and goalkeeper are merely ok. As in that's it, ok and nothing more.

I used to go to every England game at every tournament and a fair amout of games at Wembley.
I dont go to any games anymore (apart from tournaments) and I havent watched an England game on TV for more than a decade. International football, outside of tournaments is like watching paint dry. That part isnt Southgates fault as a whole.
There are a million things I would do before watching the game on TV last night, never mind going to it.
I couldnt care less about the game or who won. (Although I just checked to see if Ollie played)
Bring the proper football back.
Thanks for coming on here to tell everyone how much you dont care about something. A brilliant contribution. Also the bit about not watching and England game on TV for a decade is clearly utter bollocks.
