Have Fulham sold their allocation yet?

The latest tweet from their club account says 300 left, so more or less: yes.

  2. The international break comes at a good time for us as we are badly in need of a break. Lets just hope for a win at Bolton and that Derby do one against Cardiff this weekend, and then the run in will be interesting. Cardiff still have to play us and Wolves, which is a potential 6-point swing right there. QPR was a disaster but we might look back at that results as the catalyst for an unbeaten run-in.

When the worst-case I can imagine is that we still make the play-offs, we can't be doing that badly.

  3. What a come down after saturday! Time to consign that turgid performance to the past and focus on getting 3pts next Saturday. Let’s keep the faith and hope Cardiff can be as flakey as us in the future! If not then wembley beckons...

  4. To catch Cardiff, the MINIMUM we need to do is:

    • Beat them at home
    • Match their other results, except...
    • Find 1 more point than them

I fully expect our goal difference will remain better than theirs till the end of the season now, so that would see us into second.

When you put it like that it doesn't seem too much to ask. I would fancy us to better or match their results at the very least and if we want to finish above them we need to be beating them at home as we did to Wolves.

I think we playing our best football in 4-1-4-1 formation and we should stick to it.I would like to see thor starting in dm i think hes pretty good in there.

                        Johnstone

    Elmo    Terry   Chester  Taylor

                              Thor

    Snod Hourihane Grealish  Adomah

                              Grabban

This team picks itself. I will be gutted if Bruce goes for anything else.

  6. I think the good thing from our point of view is that we have a run of easier games now, with harder games to follow towards the end of the season. We need to make up 3 or 4 points on Cardiff whilst the fixtures are relatively kind and carry that confidence into the Cardiff game and the tricky games that follow that game. Yes it will get nervy towards the end of the season, but if we are in the hot seat at that point then we will have had a good run of wins to give us confidence we can get the job done. Not to mention many of the mid-tablers will be on the beach at that late stage of the season.

Leicester I think broke the rules to get themselves promoted.

A fine is hanging over their head but they do not have to pay it unless they are relegated and back under Football League management.  Not sure if there is a time limit on this fine but similar to QPR and how they were shafted when relegated

All the more reason for the EFL to investigate ASAP and apply the rules before they escape to the PL...

if we have grealish and adomah fit then we can win anyway . Without them we will struggle

This. If they are fit until the end of the season we will go up in second I believe. If they stay in and out the team we will struggle. Not surprisingly we need our best players to be fit to look convincing!

  9. At the end of the day, the CEO reflects the will of the owner. If we eventually turn against Keith as some are suggesting it will be because we are turning against Dr Tony as well. I doubt you will find many clubs where fans are against their CEO, but in support their ownership.

Was Tom Fox really any worse than any other CEO or was he just the mouthpiece of a criminally disinterested Randy Lerner? Look at Sunderland now, Martin Bain is drawing fire from Sunderland fans but he is given the impossible job of representing a negligent owner in Ellis Short.

Right now Keith and Tony have the support of most Villa fans and I hope it stays that way.

Same. Jedinak should play against physical teams where they'll be playing long balls and Bjarnason against the more technical teams where a bit more pace is required.

    When does Whelan play?

  11. I would take a point but I feel 3 points is within reach. They will get forward and attack at home which will open up space for Hogan to cause some havoc.

A point here and another against the the Wolverine would do while obliterating the rest which will secure second.

    That would be Marvel-lous.

  12. I think Bruce learned well from the reverse fixture at St. Andrews. From memory we played Whelan in the middle and he got the s**t kicked out of him all game and didn't win a single header. When Jedi came on at ~60' that day we looked a different team and got a hold on the game.

Really encouraged that Bruce opted to start Jedi this time even with BB being the inform player (as he is more similar to Whelan) and was rewarded with THAT performance. So nice to be able to rotate positions as required and not just trot out the 'best' 11 each week regardless of opposition style.

  13. I'm hoping for Jedinak to start. In the reverse fixture we were bullied in the midfield and won nothing in the air until Jedi came on at 60 minutes. Our normal tactics don't work well against physical opposition who like to break up the play with fouls, as show by the Shef Utd game recently which was a slog until the wonder goal.

On the football side their current squad contains nothing of real quality except 2 Danish U-19 players from what I can Ninja-Google.

After finishing 3rd last season they are having a horrid year and are in a relegation battle.

They sound Villa through and through.

  15. If we go up this season Bruce WILL be manager next season in the premier league...people need to come to terms with this. To think the board won’t show loyalty after what will have been a complete turn around of the team is very very unlikely.

  16. Did we see the down side to our loan policy at about 65 minutes today? Bruce making a double substitution in a game that was ‘won’ bringing on two loan signings who probably have minimum games/minutes clauses in their contracts?

I thought that was a pretty bizarre decision which badly upset the balance of the team, so I’m wondering if there was more to it...or just a snafu from Brucey? <_< Hope I am wrong!

    Good performance and win otherwise!

Hate to think the state we'd be in without the doc. Looking at Sunderland, pretty sure we'd have gone down last season.

    Cheers Tone.

I must say I laughed when certain pundits said we could get consecutively relegated as our club was so badly run under Lerner, but Sunderland look to be heading that way under Short. The sale of the club was so important.
