  1. There will always be somebody getting shite flung at them by a section of villa fans. People didn`t like ellis, now they don`t like randy, They`ve only liked the odd manager in the last ten years. Even an old aged american war veteran gets subjected to bollocks over some stuff he posted online. Now its faulkners turn.

Yeah they messed up with mcleish, get over it, Shit happens.

As for the statement on the website, who gives a shit? They fixed their mistake and now they get shite about that. There will be a press conference during the week thats why they kept it short.

Faulkner is just a bloke doing a job, don`t know what people want him from him.

  2. Absolutely delighted with the appointment.

Looking forward to seeing how he reshapes the squad over the summer and can't wait to go to the first home game of the season.

Excited about Villa again, the Bright Future is back!

That sums it up for me.

Obviously it wasn`t ideal and i would rather it never happened. But the last 2 seasons of misery and unrest have made me realise how good going to the games is when we are putting up a decent go of it.

It may have also brought peoples expectations back into check and people will have a lot more patience with paul.

I think after all of this bollocks most people will be going to games just wanting to enjoy it again!!

  3. MON did a great job here. He is in the past, why don`t we just stop talking about him.

Funny you think MON was good, a lot of people I know thought he was one dimensional.

MON could pick a decent 11 but couldn't manage a squad, hence why we were in the top 4 until Feb/March each season until the players all became knackered and the wheels fell off. The same us now evident at Sunderland, and the Mackem fans are starting to see it.

I am happy with Lambert though. He looks like a manager that could be here for more than 12 months...

Everything you say i agree with, doesn`t change the fact he did well here and is a very good football manager.

I think lambert has all of o`neills good qualities plus tactical knowledge, i also think he is slightly more cultured given the time he spent in germany.

    Very pleased with this appointment.

  4. MON did a great job here. He is in the past, why don`t we just stop talking about him.

You can draw all the comparisons you like, paul lambert is not MON , he is a paul lambert. So arguing the case like we are some how signing MON again is pointless.

Paul actually takes way more influence from the coach he had in germany, he did his coaching badges and everything over there.

  5. Without having to look through 179 pages to find the answer:

What kind of football does lambert like to play??

    winning

    That is my favourite style.

think MON 2.0. With several new apps like:

    Ball retention

    squad rotation

    substitutions

    tactics

and a free trial version of anti virus software to prevent that pesky Heskey virus from getting into your operating system.

haha nice post mate, Does actually sum it up aswell.

  6. James Nursey ‏@JamesNursey

If there is a specific star Lambo badly wants for #AVFC, told Lerner would raid his personal piggy bank but ideally wants PL to wheel & deal

Yeah 'cos wheeling and dealing get's you right up the old Premier League. More money = more success

We`re not going to win the premier league. We have to focus on being sustainable and competeing in the top 8.

Wheeling and dealing is the reality for most clubs in the country apart from 3-4.

  7. Paul Lambert has this evening spoken on the phone to at least 2 senior AVFC players.

Saying hi to them or jog on lads?

was he speaking to the players who had expressed to the board their desire to leave villa this summer?

Either that or he has had a word with KMc & AMcL regarding the players that 'run the show' as it were... To get them on side so he can effectively assess the squad before shipping out the ones he feels are no longer needed or that will cause trouble for him.

Exactly, players that caused trouble for other managers may not cause trouble for lambert.

I don`t think he is the type to suffer fools by the looks of it, anyone not pulling their weight will be shipped out in january.

  8. Lambert will keep dunne for at least another season. It makes sense, a new manager going into a new job needs a few experienced players to fall back on whilst his management methods settle in adn new signings find their feet.

As long as he gets them performing i don`t mind.

  9. Being reported in the papers that he will get 20 million to spend. Given the fact mcleish basically got that with the wage bill still high i would think he will get nearer 30 million myself.

I think he could have us in the top half with 20 million though.

I also expect him to get gabby playing again aswell, Could be good times!

  10. On Holt, I would seriously leave him where he is, we would have to pay 6Million upwards to bring him and it would be Harewood all over again.

He scored 15 in the prem last season. 21 in the championship the year before.

People see a big striker and start throwing silly comparisons around.

Marcus Stewart might I add! Once scored 25 goals in in PL first season then disappeared in 2nd season.

lol grant holt is a good striker. We currently only have one of those. Shouldn`t turn our noses up at the likes of him at all.

For how long, he's 31! If he signs i'll get behind him, but i'd rather he stays there!

Oohh, i didn`t know he was 31, thought he was about 27-28. I see where the doubts are coming from now.
