I never wanted him here and have criticised him from the off. I was ridiculed for wanting him sacked at the end of last season and now I and many others have been proved right. Too many fans have blind faith and can't see what is going on under their noses. The same fans that supported McLeish, Lambert, Bruce, Smith etc. until it became as plain as the nose on their face that they were shit. No more British managers!

Amazing how many voted for him to stay based in the poll when it's becoming so obvious he hasn't got a scooby doo.
Some fans can't see the wood for the trees!

Apart from Kamara we have the same shit team that finished a pathetic 14th last season. Gerrard needs to go now!
-
I'm not prepared to give Slippy G a free pass for the rest of the season just because Diego Carlos is injured. Quality teams just carry on regardless. Anything lower than European qualification is total failure in my opinion.

We have just played two of the poorest teams in the division and we have 3 points and a -1 goal difference. With Diego Carlos injured we are only one starting player different (Kamara) to the team that finished a pathetic 14th last season. Don't get ahead of yourselves guys!

No more British managers! They are so far behind continental managers. Man City, Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal, Tottenham, Man Utd (the regular top six) all have foreign managers and that is why they are at the top.

Nothing short of a win to save Gerrard's ar$e.

Here's my take ...
To me Villa looked boring, they could not unpick a packed eighteen-yard box. They let BHA set up before before attacking
Defensively, Villa did not cope well with BHA's height. Extra bit of height on the pitch? I wonder who could help here? According to the commentator Digne was not on the pitch when the first goal was scored. Apparently he was removing a piece of jewelry (again, according to the commentator).
For all the buzz around Carlos? - he was OK but did not really stand out to me.
Cash, Bailey, Kamara, Digne (despite his apparent momentary absence) I thought had good games.
Konsa did not cope well with the height.
On another day Martinez might have saved the second goal otherwise OK.
JJ Ok but not his best game . McGinn not his best game.
Coutinho and Ings? Tough to make things happen in a packed eighteen-yard box.
Who is BHA?

Gerrard buys the players, selects the team and chooses the tactics yet when it all goes pear shaped (2 wins in 12) he throws his players under the bus! Time for him to go before our season is ruined!

Huge pressure now for a win after today's shambles.
If Everton turn us over I woulldn't be shocked if Gerrard was on his way.
We can only but hope.

Not looking forward to the Everton game now. Which is quite telling
Along with Bournemouth, Southampton & Forest, Everton are one of the weakest sides in the league. Anything other than a Villa win next weekend should see Gerrard picking up his P45!

Both our billionaire owners invest heavily in professional sports teams. Of course they know something about football.
So why appoint Gerrard if they are so knowledgeable?

Play like this the majority of the next few months it's new manager time. Problem is I don't trust the people in charge to make a good appointment. After all they appointed Gerrard.
What happens to all the players that signed to play under him? Potentially huge problems coming.
Our owners are stinking rich but know nothing about football. A recipe for disaster!

Gerrard out!

I wonder what a decent manager could do with this squad of players?

With all the money spent we need to be finishing several places higher than Smith's 11th place finish of two seasons ago otherwise Gerrard will have failed.

Will the lack of a new striker to strengthen our powder puff attack come back to bite Gerrard on the arse?

I do, like you, see it in hindsight.
That's the problem with Gerrard, he only sees things in hindsight. Decent managers can see ahead and change things accordingly.

Do I need a lawyer?
Maybe just take off your claret & blue glasses and see the situation for what it is.

It wasn’t an unreasonable decision to bring on a defensive midfielder and take off a tiring attacking one. Hindsight is a wonderful thing. The quality of the DM was most likely the problem, which hopefully we’re about to fix.
I don’t disagree that taking away our attacking threat was a negative. But if he hadn’t you’d have screamed why didn’t he make a change? Dammed if he did and dammed if he didn’t. Like I said easy to see in hindsight.
If you’re looking for a stick to bash the manager or even it now seems the owners then you’ll always find one. If that makes you happy, carry on it’s a free world.
Do you or don't you admit that Gerrard got it wrong? Man City only had 1 shot on target before he made the changes then after the changes they had 3 more and scored every one. If that's not poor in game management by Gerrard then I don't know what is. Villa will never achieve anything as long as they keep going down the route of appointing British managers, they are bang average at best!

Yawn
So you think he made a good decision bringing on Nakamba & Young and sacrificing our attacking threat leading to us sitting back and conceeding 3 goals in under 10 minutes?

Our next 10 league games taking us to the ⅓ of the season stage:
West Ham (H) - 1pt
Arsenal (A) - 0pts
Man City (H) - 0pts
Leicester (A) - 1pt
Southampton (H) - 3pts
Leeds (A) - 1pt
Forest (A) - 1pt
Chelsea (H) - 0pts
Fulham (A) - 1pt
Brentford (H) - 3pts
Total = 11pts
So 14 pts after 13 games and the way we are playing under our clown of a manager I think I have been generous with my predicted points.
