what is the name of the facebook group?
Aston Villa Vs Chicago Fire
-
onetake are you in 134?
I am - I have a couple of extra tickets but am planning to fill those out before I get there. Any progress on matchday drinking locations for supporters? I'll have my car and as much as I loathe holding back to drive around, I'll make that sacrifice if everyone is getting together offsite beforehand. Or does it look like most people will be tailgating at Toyota Park?
Excited to get together with some US Villans! I've only seen the club play in Birmingham so it'll be a lot of fun to get together with some slightly more local people.
Sorry for the delay, onetake we have a pub arranged for before and after the match. We also have a bus arranged to drive us between them. If your interested in joining the bus just send me a private message on here.
You should both join the facebook page for the game to keep in the loop

I see a number of posts that you can't do this past the point one has decided that having sex with women from time to time is a nice idea.
Has the "man cave" idea not crossed the Atlantic?
It seems the man cave idea is not that big across the pond....I think every mans dream in North America is to have a man cave....Now this one isnt mine but hows this for a Villan in America?
-
Im crossing Lake Michigan ! 90 minute drive for me (beats the 5 and a 1/2 hour hung over back from Columbus)
Thats not so bad, drive to Duluth is 5 hours each way for me, then 1 1/2 hour flight to Chicago. You in 134 usvilla? Do you know the pub details and such?
-
Good point Levi. But I wont have to cross the lake . Driving to Duluth and flying from there as its about 500 bucks cheaper.

Anyone making the trek across the pond to Chicago?

Here is the link from the Villa website. Copy and paste the promo code on that page, then hit the link to the Philadelphia tickets. It will pull up a ticket in the Villa sections. I'm in section 132, most Villa fans are in 132/133 (basically tucked away in the corner).

That link did not work for me. Anyone know what the promo code is? Also I just moved to NYC and I checked-out the NY Villans website. Does not seem to have been updated for quite some time. Anyone have updated information on the group?
Your best bet (if you have facebook) would be to join the Aston Villa AMerica group....lots of guys who can help you out with tickets for philly.

Manchester City, in the third year since Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan of Abu Dhabi's ruling family bought the club and began to pour in money to acquire a team capable of winning the Premier League, lost £197m, the greatest financial loss in the history of football.

Little update on the Chicago trip for anyone on here who is/might be going to the match.
First here is a link to the facebook page that is the source for info
http://www.facebook.com/events/359316637445257/
Looks like a pub has been arranged as well as busses sorted to pick us up pre match from the pub and bring us back postm atch for beers. Will be 15 bucks round trip (35min ea way)
Talk of an open training event and meet/greet on the Friday evening as well. More info to come on that.
Shaping up to be a fantastic weekend and if anyone has questiosn about it feel free to PM or post them on the facebook page. I know of a few Brummie's making the trip across the pond. Any on here coming?

A walk down Young street is fantastic if you want to do a bit of a crawl of the pubs and to see downtown Toronto. Eaton centre for some shopping (dont be surprised by out rip off prices and make sure to add 13% to the price tag ) Distillery District is a nice area for some arts/culture and pubs .
When you go down to see the Falls I suggest hitting up The Keg, its a steakhouse restaurant that overlooks the falls. Its a bit pricier but its worth it IMO as the food is always spot on and the view is stunning. Big wine making district around the area as well (if your driving).

Went to CL semi against SChalke last year when up in Mancehster and was at the top of the east stand....those stairs are going to suck

Lived in Orlando for a year myself. If your looking for night life I have a few quick suggestions
Saturday - Cowboys Bar (cant remember the area but its about 10-15 mins from Disney) it was 10-12 bucks for guys to get in but then its ALL YOU CAN DRINK...albeit it Bud Light.... Just bring the empty bottles back
Sundays- Howl at the moon 3 drinks for 5 bucks...just down the I Drive
Weds- Chillers in Downtown Orlando is like 10 bucks to get in but budweiser and slushy drinks are 1 bucks each!
NOw its been a year and a half since I lived there but I know some people who are back working/living there who still go to Howl and Cowboys so I imagine the prices are the same.
As for the price of booze, the store I bought booze from (Attached to walgreens on the 525 right next to Disney) I got 24s of bud light for 9.99, 40 ounce bottles of vodka, rum, rye for as cheap as 16.99 but generally only about 20-24 bucks. So it can be cheap when drinking out but its dirt cheap to buy at the stores.
Also if your staying in the area of Disney I strongly suggest a large restaurant/bar called "Ale House" They have after 10pm specials where doubles go down cheap to something like 3-5 bucks. Also try what is called an "Irish Car Bomb" if you have never had before . Ale house has got a massive menu and when I was there alost all menu items were under 18 bucks and its massive portions! They do buckets of beer 1 or 2 days of week where its 5 MGD or Bud (IIRC) for 5.95 +tx.
Any other questions let me know!
Also 2,000 pouds for 14 days? Thats just over 3,000 US which is wayyyy overkill if your only spending for yourself.... Unless you want to go large with hotels etc!

Bit of a piss off for me as only the day before it got switched I had just finished figuring out my England plans.... Next day match is moved so had to re work a few days. Ah well
-
I imagine it was about it being acorns day

-
Poutine Though I rarely eat it as its SOOO bad for anyone
-
Will be just after I leave England. Enjoy lads
-
When you get to uni, and stop playing Rugby 6 days a week, you CAN'T keep eating what you eat now as well as adding lots of booze to your diet.
Go to the gym!
Samething Id have to tell myself
Anyone making the trek?
