  1. Not sure how many of those based in North America were present at any of the festivities last summer on the US tour but the beginning of the process to get a meet up planned for the first Villa match of next season is under way.

Here is the link for those who might be interested

    https://www.facebook.com/events/453149521435186/

If your not a facebook user at the moment we voting to narrow it down to 3 cities to meet up before doing a final vote between the 3 to figure out where we will meet up.  If your not on FB and would like to register a vote please advise below and I will get it added.  Choices are

    Las Vegas

    Chicago

    Toronto

    Seattle

    Los Angeles

    New York

    Philadelphia

    Washington DC

Its looking like it will come down to Las Vegas (15 votes) Chicago (14) and Toronto or Los Angeles (Both on 7).  So if your are interested please post as quick as possible on here or on the facebook page.  The more the merrier!  We had about 200-250 Villans in Chicago last summer and we are hoping to get a good turn out for the meet up!

  2. Anyone done Contiki? Thoughts/opinions?

Have not gone myself with Contiki but have had several friends use them and they all praise it.  Though its what you make of it...if you want a good trip that is designed by someone else then its for you.  Me personally I prefer the freedom of planning my own trip and just going with the flow sometimes!

  3. Heres some pictures and video from the weekend in Chicago. Im the giant in the red hat

Hmm... think I recognise you. Were you leading a bit of a slagging match with the Irish lads in the next section over?

Wouldnt say I was leading it, but at the same time my memories of the match are a bit hazy  But I was invovled in the slaggin match thats for sure

First one was during the game... about the 75th minute if my dodgy mind is not lying to me....my voice is sh*t

Second is on the coach back to the pub. Its a very drunk version of Bluenose bastards.....the words get changed up a bit (Kiddie lads started this) to incorporate some of the different countries/states/cities on the bus. Bit of a train wreck by the end though

All in all it was a fantastic weekend!

  5. Apparently looked the business today. If he is that good does anybody know how we managed to pick him so cheap? nearing the end of his contract maybe?

As I understand the club has just come out of financial troubles and his wages were an issue and they knew they could not afford to keep him when his contract was up next year.

  6. KEA looked class. Great to constantly see him hovering near our box to pick up the ball. Makes it far harder to justify hoofball, a tactic which Hutton has clearly been trying to perfect while spending the summer in Burger King.

Enda Stevens is a bit of a ball watcher isn't he? A couple of very good crosses from him, though.

Daniel Johnson was lively, but fairly crap.

Think Johnson is caught in "trying to hard" which has led to mistakes. Needs to settle down a wee bit

  7. Stevens looks pretty terrible. Typical McLeish player. Can't pass a ball 5 yards.

    KEA is looking good though.

For his first run out with the squad I thought he looked alright..... Couple nice crosses in. Still needs work of course

  8. Well you dont need a car per say but it will make things much much easier for you to get around and rentals are pretty reasonable. Depending where you are Ale House on the 535 just off the I4 is a fantastic spot for drink deals and food. If your looking for a few good spots to go out on the town I know a few spots as I lived there for a year. Now I cant garuntee these are all still happening but...

Weds- Chillers $1 slushie drinks and bottle beer on first floor (3 floor club)

Sun- Howl at the Moon, 5 bucks for 3 drinks.....great deal

Saturday- Cowboys (country bar duh) is 10 bucks to get in and its ALL YOU CAN DRINK! But as I said...its a country bar

  9. Chicago for me ...with a visit to the Three Floyds Brewery whilst there ...taxi!

While I certainly understand WHY you'd want to go, just know that the brewery is actually located in Munster, IN and is about a 45-60 minute drive from where the Fire play depending on traffic.

Yeah, thanks for the heads-up. I'm flying in from Houston Friday morning & actually going to hit FFF & stay in Munster that night (after any scheduled Villa events, of course). Moving to the Palmer House on Saturday ...just a Red line ride away from the Halsted Harp, which is the pub mentioned on the Facebook event page. The guys who set that up have done a great job. I'm going to take advantage of the coach to & from the match that they've been good enough to set up too.

Going to be a long weekend of fine ales, luxury, & the Villa. I'm sure I won't get a damn thing accomplished before then.

Look forward to meeting you and having a few pints Arizona!
