i voted dont sell. but if he really wanted to leave i would let him go.
if he went to city i would lose all respect for him.
-
hmmm.
i wait intently until after the world cup, when i think he will either sign a new contract or be sold within 5 days of england's exit.
-
i have gone for rooney. closely followed by jimmy.

Have read through this thread a little and am surprised at the arrogant attitude of some on here. Someone else has stated that the likes of Beckford and Ledley would be poor signings. What utter bollox!
You need to look at the signing of Beckford and Ledley in the wright context. They would be signed on the basis of replacing Sidwell and Harewood, probably, even Heskey, not direct replacements for Carew, Agbonlahor or Milner. Heskey and Sidwell would probably bring in something like four to five million in transfer revenue and if we replaced those players with Beckford and Ledley, who would cost nothing in transfer fees, then how would that not be good business?
Beckford already carries much more of a goal threat than either Heskey, or Harewood and Ledley would be an improvement on Sidwell. Have watched Ledley play quite a few times and he is excellent on the ball.
I wish people would look at the overall picture here. With the Europa League next season, we will need our squad more, to rest members of our first team and if we can get Joe Ledly and Beckford on frees and on less wages than Sidwell and Harewood then for **** sake why shouldn't we bring them to the Villa. What are we going to lose? If both players didn't work out, then we could sell them on again back to the Championship with a profit bulging in our chairman's pocket.
Our squad is going to be revamped and i for one would welcome Ledly and Beckford into that squad before Everton sign them.
good post.

How about Clint Dempsey for a squad player? Could get him for a good price, he's creative, good with the ball at his feet, can play in just about any attacking position, works hard and can score a goal or two.
i don't see much of fulham but he impresses me whenever i do.

Lukas Podolski would be a good shout
big shout.

I don't want to get my head bitten off if I am mistaken. But I THOUGHT I breifly heard a chant of "We want the special one" yesterday in the Holte.
If so - I think that's a bit harsh on MON and disrespectful after what he has done for us.
If MON was to leave, then fine - speculate and chant anyone's name. But while he is our manager I think chants like this shouldn't be heard. He's brought us far and I'd hate to think that that could one of his lasting memories if he was to leave in the summer.
Like I said - I could be wrong (if so, good!) but that's what me and my mate thought we heard..
pretty sure it was 'we have the special one', backing MON but i could also be mistaken.

just got back from birmingham. dire performance today, so disappointing. voted milner MOTM because he actually looked like he was arsed about it compared to some of the others. luke young was very good when he came on too. dunne and collins had fine games. not much for brad to do.
now i get pissed off with the incessant downing bashing on this site (and from the two blokes sat next to me today, every time the ball went within five feet of him they started moaning) but i thought he had a shocker today. gabby and carew were poor too.
just such a depressing way to end the season, and we are lucky that hull managed a point.
-
had a dream last night that we won two nil after the ref turning down a stonewall pen for blackburn. dunne and gabby got the goals.
-
big sam will have them pumped out to avenge the semi final, not that they really had any cause for complaint in my eyes.
Well I'm still angry that they scored twice from incorrectly awarded corners in that 6-4 game, so I want revenge for that! 6-2 would do nicely.
as long as we don't 'do a hibs' on going 6-2 up
-
also for a lot of people i think it is very much a case of the lesser of two evils!
-
i am a massive spurs fan for one night only tonight
-
would be ridiculous for spurs to finish 3rd. hopefully fulham will have two eyes on the europa final and arsenall will beat them.
-
i am going to be living in germany for 10 months from september so i will have to choose a team too. all i know is that i will be in nord-rhein westphalia, don't find out my actual town until july.
-
-
just watched it again myself, that is inexcusable.
-
i wouldn't change the starting eleven. we need to win in our quest to finish above liverpool (hopefully chelsea can do their stuff today).
let's go out with a bang not a whimper.
-
cuellar MOTM by a mile. brilliant.
proud of the overall performance, we just couldn't break down a good man city side.
EDIT because i couldn't spell cuellar
-
**** brilliant from carlos.
-
so crushing that. especially with JC hitting the bar inbetween their goals.
still in this, we just need to hit back quickly.
-
Please oh please can Barry score a late OG which hands us the game or Dunne scores a late winner?
ideally the latter as i have a cheeky pound on him to score anytime.
-
if we are winning towards late on in the game, I fear for my health.
take the first four words out of that and it describes my current concerns! such a massive game, i'm at a music festival in leeds today (almost all the venues in the city have bands on all day) but i'm gonna take a couple of hours out at 3 to watch this on a stream, can't miss it. such a massive game.
-
would be nice if downing played johnson off the park
-
i think he means he has predicted a draw in recent weeks and we have been winning
SPECULATION : Milner to City/Utd/Chelsea/Spurs

people have been saying he isn't world class. that isn't what makes him so vital to us in my opinion. it is his tireless workrate, couple with his very good ability and team-minded spirit which drives the rest of the team. see his 93rd minute sprint with the ball from our penalty area to the opposite end of the pitch to hold up play as a case in point. that is the attitude we need and as much as i rate players like young, he just isn't a milner in that respect.
