If Gab dogg and/or Sinclair put a few guff appearances in get Gestede/Grealish/Gil in asap.

Isn't that last years training wear the people round him are wearing? Also isn't that Lambert with his back turned?
No and no. It's also clearly this season's kit.
-
Who we thinking this is then?
Adebayor imo

He's got 3 years left on his deal and amazingly he'll only be 31/32 when that ends! I honestly thought he was around that age now. If he's planning on being at Villa for the rest of his career then he's either going to retire pretty young or he'll after take a huge pay-cut come 2018. Given that he's 28 you would have thought that he'd have pushed on more and developed as a player. I'm not sure if he was just comfortable and coasting but now he has a real fight on his hands to even make the bench if Adebayor and Gestede are signing, with Ayew and Grealish now establishing himself, Gabby is way down the pecking order. He's still at an age where he should have something to offer, given his wages and lack of pulling up any trees the past few seasons he won't be easy to move on so I think our best hope is that all this new competition gives him a massive kick up the arse and forces him to step his game up to the sort of promising levels he was showing in his early 20's. If he really does want to end his career here, for the first time in a good few years he's going to seriously have to work for that outcome. I would love him to retire here but it's not going to be handed to him on a plate any longer.

Impact sub sounds about right.
I think he's brilliant for that role, but unless there's serious improvement from him I'll be disappointed if he's in our starting 11. I've always liked Gabby, but he's been too comfortable for too long. Can't argue his passion, but hasn't really turned that into results for whatever reason, probably due to ability, sadly b
Impact as in try and bring us back into a game? When the opposition can sit back and protect their advantage?
Not sure those are the scenarios he's likely to contribute most.

We'll see. I think he'd be a good fit for us, desperately in need of a limited overs opening bat.
Pretty widely mooted that Northants will let him leave this winter to a div one side who will enable him to enhance international prospects. I think the article that mentioned us a keen suitor was on cricinfo.
source? We're one of the frontrunners to sign David Willey apparently
Yes but we can't make a move for him until the end of the season and theres been no suggestion at the club that we will. We are still massively in debt and hear Povey is leaving.
-
That'd be ideal yep
In Brum?In the posh seats for day one of the Edgbaston test next week. Fancy purchasing either a tweed or a blue, linen jacket..... anyone recommend where might sell some good ones? Striking out atm

This will drop at 10am.....
Liverpool have reached an agreement with Aston Villa over payment terms on their £32.5m move for Cristian Benteke. The Anfield club have now arranged a medical, which will take place in the UK. Liverpool's club doctor will fly home from the club's tour of Australia to complete the medical but Benteke will not join up with his new team-mates Down Under.

One of the replies to Nice's tweet translates as "such a shame he's going to a dead club"
Good to know we're held in high regard on the continent.

11 July 2015
I'm aware there has been intense media speculation surrounding my future in the last 24 hours and I want to set the record straight.
I'm not leaving. I'm staying at the football club and I can't wait for the start of the season and captaining this great football club.

Rondo to the Mavs for a bunch of trash and 2 picks. Mavs probably have the best starting 5 in the NBA now. West is gonna be even more fun to watch than usual this year!
whoops!
