The only thing I remember about the Hearns fight was how many times Andries got back up.

Tommy Hearns, what a thing of beauty he was. They robbed him in the second fight with Leonard. I watched that live in the Porsche club, no way was that a draw. His KO of Duran is one of the best knockouts ever, and the fight with Hagler is without doubt the greatest three rounds in boxing history.

The real Hitman... I agree.... that Duran knockout is still to this day one of the greatest ever. Righthand straight down the pipe and Duran got felled like a tree. I absolutely loved Hearns as a kid. If he'd been able to stay the course in the first fight he'd have won that by a landslide because Ray was well down on the cards. He definitely got robbed against Leonard in the rematch though. The documentary series on them, 'The Kings' is one of the best boxing docs ever if you haven't seen it. They were all brilliant in that period. I loved the four of them but especially Tommy who will always be one of my top 5 favourite fighters of all time.

  2. I really like him and have done since the get go. Admittedly he's had some stinkers this season but imo there was always a quality player underneath.

I think he's just one of those players that needs suppporters on his side to get the best out of him. I think it brings the best out of him, and I don't even think we've scratched the surface with him yet.

I hope he wants to stay and that we sign him because I can see him getting better and better given time and support.

Please don't share publicly on VT who that relates to.

Without full context, nothing good can come of it.

I won't be for this very reason.

  4. Such sad sad news.....I was not only fortunate to see him play on a regs during his heyday but also very very fortunate to spend several hours with him and a few other players last year at a private gathering. What a wonderful individual, along with the others of course.

Arguably the best set piece specialist with the ability to put the ball from anywhere on a sixpence, one of our greatest wingers and without doubt a Villa legend for eternity. He'll never be alone because he has some of the greatest teammates anyone could wish for and a fanbase that adore him. Best wishes our Sid. 💜 💙

Yeah, thats another thing I don't get - why do people feel the need to deface/ruin them? People are odd.

Because they're generally hateful and ignorant individuals, who if given the opportunity couldn't produce anything of note themselves so feel better defacing or dismissing what others do. It's quite simple really.

I highly doubt this ISIS attack was a false flag operation. It doesn't seem plausible to me, but I wouldn't put anything past the FSB. I definitely would believe the four suspects are just random brown people they found who can fulfil the role of perpetrators.

I think what may come across as implausible to most can be very plausible.

Not everything has to make sense to us. However, considering another 100,000 Russians have recently signed military contracts it is plausible that a void internally needs filling to increase security forces throughout Russia. Also, if you threaten the majority of the population with the idea of internal terrorist events becoming a more frequent occurrence then you'll also have more of the pacifists coming forward to potentially fill security voids across the board. After all terrorism can focus a whole population when it's on your own doorstep.

I'm not saying this is what's happening but it's certainly possible especially considering some of the questionable events around the atrocity the other day.

Russia are also engaging in a proxy war with France in Central Africa too, which is why imo there has been a significant increase in the rhetoric about the French putting troops into Ukraine. There is a lot more going on now than many people realise imo.

lol probably. Maybe they just got bored of waiting for the cops to show up and the inevitable fire fight and their mindset changed to ‘we might actually be able to get away with this’

I do not buy that..... They're in virtually the centre of Russia. Getting away or getting out alive would be extremely difficult, regardless of how docile Russian security forces may appear on TV.

  8. Something just doesn't add up for me regarding this terrorist attack.

    • 4 men who has previously carried out a recon on the same building when security was very tight.
    • A serious lack onsite security during this event a short time after, considering over 6k were in attendance. Apparently there was only several unarmed guards at the time.
    • Then a response time of over an hour for proper security forces to arrive, especially considering reports indicate the building has it's own Police Station and Russia are currently on a war footing.

Most weirdly of all, they've captured them without that ending in a bloodbath or the culprits taking their own lives, and knowing full well they'd be tortured when captured. I think the whole thing stinks tbh. Anyone willing to kill 137 innocent civilians isn't going to give a shit about survival after carrying out that sort of atrocity and in such a blatant manner. It was always a suicide mission.

He's a great guy, maybe will do well in Serie A, but won't mean not signing him was a mistake, perhaps just better suited to that league

Or perhaps he just needs a bit of patience. There is no evidence to suggest that given time he wouldn't adapt to the PL, just like many top players

In his defence, he's probably gone through a pretty turbulent period, starting off with getting to grips with the UK and then going through the betting scandal.

Can our players stop doing interviews, nothing good comes from it at all.

I don't blame him if there is any truth in it tbh. He's wasted time here, so it makes sense to look for a way out back to Italy where he more than likely find appreciation and ultimately get his career back on track. He's been sitting on the bench for over 3 months and slated so whether people agree or not he has a right to look after his own interests.

In the end the yellow was soft, but he could have been booked earlier. Had an alright game to be fair, Italy not exactly firing on all cylinders at all but he was alright.

Italy aren't great atm but he's got far more chance of winning something with them over the next few years than Konsa or Watkins have with England. 😐

  12. What I seen Konsa has had Vini Jnr in his pocket. Other than that this is one of the most uncreative and pathetic performances from England  they could've produced. Ollie has had zero to work with.

The sooner GS is gone the better because this is dreadful.
