He is not playing well though. He has not played well all season. Scoring one goal doesn't equal playing well.

Currently there's not much between him and Rogers, both are big downgrade from peak Ramsay.

Rogers has a future at this club, Zaniolo clearly doesn't (otherwise Emery would start him)

Peak Ramsey?! He hasn't been fit or anywhere near his peak all season so needs must unfortunately.

There is also a lot of difference between Rogers and Zaniolo, one has played at the highest level in Europe for several years, the other has played in the championship.

You also don't know if the club will trigger Zaniolo's option to buy, it's pure speculation on behalf of the fans that presume because he hasn't settled quickly and not starting Emery will just bin him off. Even if we do send him back he'll be still playing at the top level so he's obviously not as shit as some like to make out.

  2. Definitely should only be used as an LCB. I don't want to give him too much grief though because he's been decent imo. Poor today though, although the defence in general was.

We will already had a whole season to judge him, he's not going to turn into a different player in pre-season.

I disagree.... He was playing in an unfamiliar position at the start of the season and since then has had nothing but scraps. He's not been great but how any players take time to settle anyway coming from abroad.

I definitely would like him to stay - there is a baller in there, I am confident in this.

He should be given the opportunity of a pre season imo and then judged.

I have faith - this is a test, he passes with flying colours.

Me too. We are definitely in the minority atm but I think he could become the player we need off Ollie at times. Needs to be calmer at times but I think he could settle given time and become a valuable asset to the squad. I really like him tbh. He's definitely a handful when he's on it.

  5. I wasn't disappointed with the line up but it was obvious in the first half it wasn't working. Moreno and Rogers were being overrun and Duran could'nt get into the game at all. He switched it up and viola, a much better finish to the game, arguably the stronger of the 2 sides.

What I was happy about was the willingness to switch it up asap, ie HT rather than letting us get to the last 20 mins so at least Unai spotted the problems and sorted them quickly.

What he now needs to do though is sort the defence because at the moment it's seriously letting us down. For a team that looked fantastic playing the offside trap and being positionally organised we now look like a load of drunkards at the back. It's concerning now we're down to the business end of the season.

I think both he and Rogers still look like they need a bit more time on the ball than they're typically allowed,  which leads to some poor decision making and at times ill discipline. For me it's therfore understandable that Rogers gets more starts though as he's younger and our player - even more so if we activate a compulsory purchase on Zaniolo after so many starts as reported, as I think we can do better.

That's not to say I wasn't delighted with his goal today, but I'm surprised at him getting so many MOTM votes in the post-match thread; I thought Diaby looked better personally from the subs.

    Okay captain caveman

Man scores a goal and tells his own fans to shush like he does it every week lol

He was telling the WH fans. They were in the same end next to the Villa fans.

  8. Deserves more minutes imo. I think the kid needs some love to get the best out of him, and I think he's got far more in his locker than we've seen up to now, but that will have given him a great boost today.

When you consider the time out through injuries(2 years) he's still a baby. I think it's easy to forget that.

    Well done Nico!!

  9. Phew..... I thought we finished with the team that should've started. Much better last 30 min. Zaniolo and Diaby imo deserve the plaudits. Both came on and made a huge difference and changed the flow. Matty Cash too. gave him pelters many times this season but thank the lord for that block.

The defence....WTF. Unai seriously needs to resolve our stupidity at the back. For a eam that looked so good early doors we've become a very sloppy team in defence.

Tielemans isn’t dogshit. He’s been good when in the right position but he’s playing in a spot he’s got no business in. Should put Tim in his spot and move him up to replace rogers. Give him a more attacking role.

Tielemans is dogshit and has been most the season other than a couple of games . He's far too slow in possession and not strong or aware enough out of possession. He's a plodder.

  11. I'm sick of hearing the tired argument. Other than Ollie, Luiz and Bailey the rest should have plenty of energy. Luiz is on his own in the middle because Tielemans is dogshit, Ollie may as well be on his own other than Bailey because Duran and Rogers are doing absolutely nothing in support. Moreno.... the less said the better. Get Cash on for Lenglet, Konsa back central, Digne on for Moreno. Rogers off for Tm and get Luiz more advanced in the 8 role. That should give us more legs for a start.
