  1. I'm surprised by the generally negative feedback, I'm having a lot of fun with this. Took me 10-15 Online Divisions matches to get the knack of defending, but on reflection I think my issues were largely due to playing online and suffering lag.

Something's improved recently (maybe servers) and haven't lost an online game for ages... normally an offline player and yet to even get started on ML, which is normally great.

  2. My mate rang the ticket office and we got 2 tickets in Holte K5 for face value. Returns apparently. But yeh, those sites are criminal. They should only be able to operate selling at a very small % increase on face value, if at all. Same goes for gig tickets and any other events that will sell out.

  3. Found May's refusal (or at least initial refusal) to condemn the US Muslim Ban yesterday disgraceful.

"US immigration policy is their own business" - completely failing to consider the lives and rights of UK Muslims who would be affected by it, let alone how it contradicts the wider principles of justice and tolerance which we loudly claim are British values.

I'm relived to see I am not alone and it in fact has caused a shit storm, with protests in virtually every major area.

I'll be protesting at Downing Street tonight, I can't imagine looking back at this in ten years thinking "I did nothing".

I thought the gameplay was generally good, but what I didn't rate was the easiness of clearing an area.

Once you'd kill all the baddies in an area, that was it. You could walk round freely. I thought it would give a much greater sense of dread if there was always a chance a baddie could wander in on you

Did you try it on Grounded (unlocked after completed once)? - different game. So intense. (Areas still cleared once cleared though)

Definitely getting part 2, one of the best games ever

  5. In no particular order, and sorry if cheating to include all MGS 1,2,3 as one game but, meh

Right, but if he posts pics or vids of him working out the likes of you are the first to spout some bollox like "False attempts to pretend you give a toss aren't fooling anyone Gabby!"

I can do some favours and start posting some pics every other day if you are desperate for updates though?

Or alternatively I could trawl through the recent photos of him and Charisma where he's out on the lash looking utterly unfit, and post them?

I'm sure you're right though, he's no doubt fighting fit and ready to roar into action.

That's demonstrably untrue. The opposite is the case. Footballers can't get away with anything. He might think he can, or he might think no one will know, but clearly he was completely wrong.

Meh, you say that, but he was garbage / anonymous last season, and was reprimanded on several occasions including being dropped from the squad entirely... yet here we are talking about the same incidents, after he's got himself an enormous pay rise and a 4 year deal.

  8. Think we're probably looking at another Gabby here. Bloke's an idiot. But, he got his bumper contract, he's idolised by the majority of fans, and can pretty much get away with doing whatever he wants.

If he's not willing to sacrifice that lifestyle now for the sake of his career, family, and club, then I don't think he's got a meaningful career ahead of him, personally.

The central issue with PES17 is that the whole game amounts to a bit of a Barcelona wank fest, not only based on the initial loading screen when you boot the game but also in how you have to play. Possession based pass and move is the only way I'm able to do well. A more pacey direct approach will not really give you success, slow build up and eye of the needle through balls are the aim of the game.

Have you played much local multiplayer? I'm finding Master League really tough (original players) but am beating my mates pretty easily, with a variety of different tactics all seeming to work well.

My main gripe is that there's no transfer budget / wage budget slider for Master League... seriously WTF.

Man who died after being tasered by police in Telford reported to be former Aston Villa striker Dalian Atkinson

Police revealed a 48-year-old man died in the early hours of this morning after they were called to an address in Telford at 1.30am.

The Independent Police Complaints Commission is investigating the incident, West Mercia Police has said.

In a statement the force said: "Officers responded to a report for the concern for the safety of an individual at approximately 1.30am this morning at an address in Telford.

"Upon arrival taser was deployed and a 48-year-old man, who subsequently received medical attention, was pronounced dead at approximately 3am.

"West Mercia Police are unable to comment any further as the incident has been referred to the Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) as is normal procedure, and will assist the IPCC with their inquiries."

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “We were called by West Mercia Police to an address in Meadow Close in the Trench area of Telford at about 1.45am this morning.

“An ambulance was dispatched and upon arrival found a man who had been ‘tasered’.

“As he was being conveyed to Princess Royal Hospital, his condition deteriorated and he went into cardiac arrest.

“Despite the efforts of the crew and hospital staff, it was not possible to save him and he was confirmed dead at hospital, shortly after arrival.”

Someone needs to tell the kid to put on proper shin guards. Just wait till we play someone like Leeds or Blackburn - they'll kick him straight in the shins over and over because he's prancing around like this. We're not at Barcelona kid - don't break your legs over it. I remember watching a CL game back in the day as we were linked with a player from Rosenborg (skjelbred or something), and one of the Galatasaray players tackled him above his shin guards and broke his shin in two places. He also wore too short shin guards and look what it got him. He was out for about 15 months and now plays in Germany.

Doesn't sound like shin pads would have prevented that injury

  12. Ray Wilkins:

“Funnily enough, I’ve got a very dear friend who knows a lot what’s going on and he tells me that that is not going through.

“It’s got to go to the Football League - they want to know what his financial situation is.”

It's as if he's run out of ways to embarrass himself.

  13. As far as I can tell, that Daily Mail column is nothing to be worried about, and is just a lazy regurgitation of some of the misinformation / confusion that's surrounded the whole thing so far.

If it doesn't go through for whatever reason, the guy who wrote that was right by guessing.
