  1. Lambert, Lerner and Faulkner will sit down to see what's going to happen on transfers.

    http://www.avfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10265~2900135,00.html

It's no good them just sitting down, they need to get their thumbs out of their arses and do something quickly!

Hopefully Lerner and Faulkner realise they need to be quick after the last 2 games. Even if Lerner does not attend games, he get live TV feeds of our games so he should realise from what he would have seen from these games that something needs to be done ASAP.
  2. I met Paul Faulkner after the press conference. Among the things we said, I asked him how the General is. He told me the General is still involved with the club even though he is busy with his college role as president. From what PF said, I don't think the General did a runner now. PF did not know if the General would return to the forums.

  3. Having a silent owner and a silent CEO is not acceptable.
I met PF with PL after the press conference. PF does understand how important fans are. He even remembered me from when I met him with the General two years ago.

He took the time to listen, he is a good CEO for us. We had a good chat, he listened well and I asked him to tell Randy a few things I put to him.

One of the issues I asked him to discuss with Randy is that fans need more communication from him, some fans have not even heard his voice and although Randy don't like communicating to and through the media, he should do so to the fans.

I told PF that Randy could communicate with fans more in various ways :

He could have somthing written in the match day programmes like Doug Ellis used to (the chairmans page).

He could have emails written every so often and get them sent to season ticket holders (and fans registered with avfc), like a certain previous manager did.

He could have something put on the avfc site (OS) every so often.

Hopefully Randy will consider these communication issues and communicate with us.

Also, from the what we said, I can say our bright future is back.

He also told me the General is still involved with the club even though he is busy with his college role as president. I don't think the General did a runner now. PF did not know if the General would return to the forums.

  4. He doesn't need to apologize to anyone. Plenty of others on here annoy people with their views. Bring back the General I say. Clean slate and all that......unless Bruce or McCarthy get the job.:-D
The General directly helped me. when I met him and Paul Faulkner afterwards, I personally thanked the General, he told me he was glad to have helped.

He was not a spin machine, but a helpful and enlightening link on here. I for one miss him and hope he returns.

    Come back General Krulak !

  5. Very happy with Lerners decision this time around. I would still like him to address the fans and let us know the future of the club. Too much silence from the board.
Agreed. Randy could communicate with fans more in various ways :

He could have somthing written in the match day programmes like Doug Ellis used to (the chairmans page).

He could have emails written every so often and get them sent to season ticket holders (and fans registered with avfc), like a certain previous manager did.

He could have something put on the avfc site (OS) every so often.

Randy don't like communicating to and through the media but he should do so to the fans. Is it worth me emailing Paul Faulkner these points, to get them to Randy and also asking him if I see him next week ??

    Also....will the General return ??

Any other ideas on how Randy could communicate with fans ??

  6. Lambert said last night (after the celtic game) he is happy at norwich and isn't looking to leave ..................highly unlikley IMO
On a radio interview after the Celtic game, Lambert never exactly said '' I am happy at Norwich and I am not looking to leave''. He said that ''I don't want away, don't ask me''. As in he don't want to go away from Norwich....he never said he 'won't go', he did'nt want to.

So, can we read between the lines on this ?

Some of us in our careers were in a situation where we did not 'want to go' but we did go as it was in our best future interests.

So, if could we read between the lines on this, we do not know what Paul Lambert will do. Never say never.

Randy can and has worked in mysterious ways and surprised us.

  7. Faulkner is a decent business man, he's 100% committed to Villa and has managed to generate a fare bit of extra income with his business acumen.

I agree, he is a CEO who has had the decency to reply to previous emails I sent him. I met him and he comes across as being open to an extent and a down to earth, likeable person who is more intelligent than fans think. It is not only just Faulkner on his own who makes decisions regarding managers. He should stay
  8. Rumour has it, Paul Faulkners 'position' may be on the line too"?

    No chance.

Faulkner was brought in when there was little financial control, which seemingly precipitated the demise of the M-essiah.

He had little to do with the hiring of Houllier, but by the time the club were looking again, seemed to be working with the owner on the appointment of McLeish.

It appears that he will also have close involvement in the managerial decisions that may, or may not, be taken in the coming days.

In the end Faulkner has been nothing to us as supporters. He has probably done a reasonable job for what he was hired to do-we wouldn't know either way. If, however, he is gaining influence on football strategy, then I hope that he realises that we need a better overall management structure of the football side of the business.

But one thing that is sure, Faulkner is here to stay.

I met Faulkner just after GH was appointed. Faulkner came acros as a good, decent down to earth person. He even replied to an email I sent him before I met him. I got an ink-ling off him as to why MON was no longer our manager. I don't think he is as bad as some fans make out. If only I could meet him again about Mcleish.

  11. VILLA legend Peter Withe has sensationally revealed he wants to manage his old team.

The champion striker, who famously shot Villa to the pinnacle of world football with his goal in the 1982 European Cup final, revealed his “dream” to take the reins to return the Midland giant to glory as it finds itself fighting for its life on the pitch and mired in controversy off it today.

Fans are due to stage a protest outside the ground before today’s final home game against Tottenham Hotspur to vent their frustrations at a terrible season in the Premier League as they face relegation under their manager Alex McLeish.

Speaking from his current home in Perth, Australia, Withe told the Sunday Mercury: “I want to manage Aston Villa and there is no point in my disguising that fact.

“I had a fantastic nine or 10 years at that great club and it would be a dream for me to lead them, an absolute dream come true.

    Clicky for original

Peter Withe wants to be Aston Villa manager. I feel he should be given a chance.

When Houllier was apointed manager Paul Faulkner said one of the reasons why Houllier was given the job was because he ''wanted the job, he wanted to do it''.

    So does Peter Withe.

I intend to email this to Paul Faulkner, Randy and the General.

What are the fans opinions on this ?
