  1. I strained my calf muscle and messed my ankle up last week after not wearing running trainers. Almost right again now and got myself a pair of New Balance from TK Maxx for £24 reduced from £70. Back of the net!!

  2. I think beards look sexy. Wish I could grow a proper one.

    You ARE a gayman.

  5. It appears some are pinning there hopes on Houllier making more signings over the summer but you'd have to question how much difference making new signings would make under Houllier. He has signed 4 players ( 2 on loan ) and since the close of the transfer window we have played 6, won 1, drew 2, lost 3. Now don't get me wrong he has made some good signings but he fails to get the best out of the team. It really does beg the question as to whether he should be moved upstairs and the day to day affairs of training ( maybe even working on set pieces ) moulding a group of players to all pull in the same direction etc and the match day tasks of picking a team/formation/tactics/motivating players and inspiring players to give their all is left to someone else.

The big question is finding someone who would be prepared to work with him being in the background.

Having good players at your disposal means **** all if you can't get the best out of them and mould a squad/team all inspired to pull in the same direction. He has a hell of a lot of good players now but game after game after game we get the basics wrong meaning that any pretty stuff which we at times produce is pretty much rendered irrelevant.

If he stays beyond this season, which is clearly very much dependent on how we do over the next nine games, then something needs to change either in terms of his role at the club or getting someone alongside him on the training ground/in the dressing room that can help with the things he is clearly failing at.

    Last 6 league games: W2 L2 D2

    Last 7 league games:W3 L2 D2

This obviously includes the Bolton loss where we had Baker and Clark as CB's, who had a hand in all 3 Bolton goals.

Not a bad recent league record considering the position we find ourselves in and the changes we've had this season. It's usually harder to find results when your down the bottom and under pressure.

Don't you think Houllier has the players playing for him now? I think they've come round.

  6. Here's a novel idea: I'll actually post on the thread's topic instead of using 15 posts to repeat the same criticisms of Houllier that I've already posted about 50 other times on 3 or 4 different threads. Hope this approach doesn't confuse the serial whingers.

Didn't bother to read beyond this unnecessary and pointlessly aggressive opening, I'm afraid. You can easily spot a prejudiced rant coming.

You should have, it was a well written post which I agree with.

    Seconded

    Thirded and spot on

    Fourthed :)

  7. We were 12th last week. We've dropped to 13th after Fulham's win.

And very few people thought MON was going to repeat top 6 again this season with that squad. Most thought top 8 which we are currently 5pts from.

    Drama?

I think some people have lost perspective here.

We're quite capable of finishing top 8 in a very unsettled and difficult season. GH has been right up against it and although making a few mistakes along the way, I can see things are turning around. After all the injuries, problems with players attitudes, having 3 managers from a week prior to the season and after having all the negativity surrounding the club, we still have a good chance of top 8.

Many fans think Aston Villa has a right to be right up there, whatever the circumstances, when the reality is any club would struggle with whats happened this season.

  8. Stay. Wolves are in for a world of pain.

Wolves will be full of confidence after today's result, while Villa will be feeling like their manager has no confidence in them....

Just out of interest why will they be feeling like that?

  9. The Birmingham Mail refer to the players emerging to a "sea of Blue"!!!!!!!!Where are they then ....the friggin Mediteranean. Appallingly contrived dishonest reporting. Tell it like it was, absolutely pathetic turnout. I've seen more people turn up to a barbeque :crylaugh:

    He must mean the seats.

I've said for a while Blues are going down and i still think they will, cant see the CC win doing them any favours.

  10. If Bob had a sex change he would be my Auntie. If this, if that, if the other. The league table doesn't reflect 'ifs' it just reflects 'whats'.

But the point is, we're playing good football and not only playing good football but creating good chances. If we keep playing this way we'll easily stop up and probably be top 8.

One thing the table does reflect is the amount of problems we've had here this season. It's no surprise to me that we're struggling, I said at the start of the season I'd be happy with finishing halfway and top 8 would be good. I haven't changed my view.

  11. He's good enough IMO. However NRC and Makoun should be our pairing. He should be coming on for the last 30 minutes, not Petrov (who IMO should not play again.)

Delph would be great to bring on for the last 20 or so minutes of a game. I'd put Petrov down as our number 4 CM now.

  12. I was at the game today and he did well for the first half hour and after that was hit and miss. I like him though and he certainly as a bright future as do a number of our players. Its the managerial situation that needs sorting not the player side.

Do you ever stop moaning about Houllier???

  13. You're seriously basing an arguement on "if"

We're closer to 18th (relegation) than 9th, cover that one up.

    We're not closer to 18th, we're closer to 9th.

    13th-9th=3 points

18th-13th=3 points + two games in hand....

    :? :? :? :? :? :? :? :? :? :? :?

In terms of places we're closer to 9th.

In terms of places when teams below us have played 2 games less :?:

We're closer to 9th are we not?

Blackpool have a game in hand, Blues have 2 games in hand...I don't fancy either of those 2 to go above us.

Points are what matter and mathematically we're closer to 18th, that's a fact.

Points wise we're closer to 18th, places wise we're closer to 9th...that's also a fact.
