  1. Steffen Iversen? Well..jeesus...that is impossible for me to handle as a Villa supporter. He is nowhere near the player he was when he peaked and also..now he plays for one of Norways best teams that has had a huge dip in quality from their golden days... And..the swedish AIK isnt any better than Notts County...and I even feel that to be an insult to Notts County!
  2. I honestly think that the end of the road has come for MON...
  3. Well...how easy it was to compare with DOL´s worst season...hahaha...
  4. could you please clarify what you mean? Do you want us to sign him or what No I dont want Villa to sign him. Villa need to spend money on much better skilled players..which wont happen with MON in charge but that is another story. Only I said was that I think he was quite good in the World cup consider he played for a very weak international team. And he was better than many of the so called superstars from England and France during the World cup. Oh bugger off, MON has signed plenty of players better skilled than Tsabalalala. And I'd wager that come the end of the window he will of signed a few more! Sorry..I wasnt clear on what I meant. My intention was to say that MON wouldnt spend money on much better skilled FOREIGN players. I am tired of the old british players because MON is an absolute joke on the transfer market. He sign british players for over the top fees and then give them over the top wages...plays it safe and boring..we end up with "kick n´run" team and tactics. It has given us three sixth places yes...but we have had a good chance to improve on that before yet it has been missed out as I see it because MONs reluctance to look abroad for great bargains to lift the squad. id rather we signed good players and don't care where they're from. Signing players because they're foreign is as bad as MON signing players because they're British. That is the usual defence from MON fans..."doesnt matter where they come from"...I dont believe it for a second! Yes..we all want great quality players to the club. And where do you find them? In every corner in GB or abroad? I think that it all are proved when you look at the World Cup and when you look at all the top clubs in Europe or in England. Clubs like Chelsea and Manchester City struggle to find players good enough for their teams that comes from England. They need to be exceptional because the foreign players they have are highly skilled on many levels. I think that Villa needs influences from abroad to make our team get another dimension to the gameplay. We are dull to watch. I am a Villa fan to the bone, but last season when I looked the team most of the games got me to yawn after 20 minutes...and I honestly couldnt look the whole games through. They show glimpse of good plays but usually Villa are boring and very predictable. We have a great weapon in our defence and also in our speedy attackers Young/Agbonlahor.

  6. Its all about winning trophies so the choice is easy...we cant win the league...

  8. His overall skills arent that good so that he is interesting for european football. I only meant his achievement on the World Cup.
  9. However lousy Tchabalala was he wasnt a second worse than any of the english braves... You can downtalk players as much as you like but have a look at England..for what value they put out on the field and produced absolute shit. The same goes to France... So to brand a player like Tchabalala a one tournament hit and that he didnt do good at all except the goal I would say that he fought hard but the team was not near as good as their opponents..therefore they didnt stand a chance...no one... France and England had World Class Players on their hands...and played utterly shameful football as a team. Just remember how awful Heskey´s ball control was and how off pace and off form Milner was. It was a nightmare to watch the Villa players to be fair...and luckily they werent alone to massively underachieve... A player like Tchabalala could flourish in the right team because he had some pace and was quite exciting to watch at times. A little bit of raw african football with less tactics but much heart...
  10. Really? I must have imagined all those stories. It really isn't, your getting hysterical about your own perception. Commercially not being linked to any players (even though we are) is suicide, you've lost me. So the press aren't printing any stories (even though they are) and this is arrogant and grey, boring and buzzy? OK you've really lost me now. I read press everywhere and there isnt anything about Villa. Read transfer gossip on BBC sports and on Sky Sports and you will find nothing..except players leaving...nothing about what Villa are looking for and nothing about MON...
  11. To be honest...absolutely nothing in the press about Villa...nada! Even if some people (like MON) thinks that is perfectly ok...it really isnt! It means the interest for our club and for what the club are doing is at the lowest rate. This is NO good for many reasons. Commercial as football wise... I think it is absolute suicide. I get so annoyed by this arrogance towards the fans, the sponsors and the players. It is all grey grey grey...boring boring boring. Where is the hype? Where is the buzz?
  12. ..and it does make a difference knowing your teammates before opening day of the Premier League. I am really annoyed by MON´s reluctance to be active on the transfer market. He is skilled manager but many other top managers could have done what he has done to be fair...and be much more exciting with signing players. Dunne, Warnock and Collins? Yes they were brilliant to step into the team as quick as they did but what kind of players are they? Defenders...with limited skills on the ball and with a load of experience of british football. Safe safe safe...dont get me wrong..I am happy to have them at Villa...but they arent any superstar quality. There were NO push for Europe with these players signed...it was necessary signings and it were safe signings to at least upheld our status as a top 6 team. If we even consider buying Carlton Cole for £16m I will end up in psychiatric care...
  13. Do you feel that the players at Villa feels the clubs strong ambition? Selling Barry and soon Milner? I like what Redknapp said on TV the other day..."Last season was tremendous for us...and now we need to push on from that to establish ourselves in top four." He has eyes on three signings he would like to add to current squad. THIS IS what MON should´ve done when we got ourselves to the Europa League first season. Spend money on players that would make the difference and would push us up... He spent on players to keep us at a "standstill"...and this is what he will do again selling Milner. We will see a safe signing from MON to make up for the loss of Milner but NOTHING that will bring us any closer to the top..and NOT a player that would create a huge buzz at the place. 100 different shades of grey...
  14. I think we might need to wait for a few players to be sold, or just Milner, before we buy new players - not for transfer funds but to ensure that the wage bill doesn't go through the roof! Also, if you check any of MysteryMan's comments from the last few weeks, the insight is that MON prefers to buy players near the end of the window to ensure the price is as realistically low as possible. Be patient. :winkold: If that is the truth...then it is a lousy tactic. Not many clubs sit on golden "left overs" at that time and some are quite reluctant to sell. No I dont buy that...MON has huge problems with the transfer market and when he has come to a point where he need to act he go british to play it safe. There is no spark...no edge...with his signings...just a grey hopeful bunch of honest players or whatever he brands them. James Milner and Ashley Young has been great signings, but the club cant keep it up and they know it. Therefore we are in huge risk of being in a position where we will lose our status in the Premier League. MON will have huge problems to buy good quality players that will be as good..or better..than Milner/Young. He dont look abroad so he will have a giant mountain of anxiety to climb now...and he knows it. That is why there is statements from him now that points at him wanting fans calm and patient..as usual.
  15. Why is it that MON seems allergic to the transfer market? He is very reluctant to be active in the transfer market and that is bloody obvious because he has constantly made it clear that he dislike it. That is not a good side to have if you are a manager in the Premier League. No he is moaning about that he needs to look for a replacement to Milner if he leaves...wow..we should´ve had a few players in already...let alone a back up for Milner that can do the job when he leaves. It doesnt need to be a last minute fix from Wigan or Scotland! Transfer times kills me with MON as manager for Villa...boring at the very very highest level.
  16. The scenario is clear...we are losing ground despite having a good first eleven. As it look now it will be a struggle to maintain the sixth place and if...God forbid..we get injuries..we might have a downfall and end up closer to 8th place. The team needs improvement and the squad definitely needs huge improvement. Nothing happens in the transfer market...I just hope to God that MON signs players that will make a difference rather than "MacGyver´s"...
  17. Absolutely THRILLED that we missed out on Titus Bramble. For £1m he would be a very lethal prospect to MON. Exactly the type of signings he has made before mixed with some much better too of course... I am relieved...even though Titus had a much better last season than the one before. Still not good enough...
  18. ^^^^ Nail firmly on head ^^^^ Well, you could honestly argue if we have the same frequens on progress or if it is declining. There cant be "signing players to keep a standstill"...anymore. There need to be a further progress or we hugely risk to fall back to a top 8-10 position.
  19. why? were not a fashionable club and we dont pay ridiculous wages and we dont have a manager that foreign players would love to play for i.e wenger. we've gone as far as we can with type of players we can attract so we need to pull out all the stops to bring in the so called top 4 quality players or players leaving big clubs who arent obsessed with champions league football Hear hear!
  20. Sell Milner...£25m-30m is very good money. Villa need to strengthen and buy a better team. Milner is very good for us but we can replace him. However..that means MON need to find a new midfielder and that will take time..as always.
  21. MON is as exciting as ever when it comes to transfer windows. He runs into the dark and hide until there is only a few days left of the window he hates so much... Its not easy to strengthen the squad when you hate how the transfer market works. I wouldnt go into something with a burning heart if I didnt like it...so I am not surprised MON again has so big problems being active in the transfermarket. It will be MacGyver-type-of-tactics again...bargains that he will eventually get some good games from...occasionally. We really need to strengthen the SQUAD...not alone the first eleven. We will lose ground with current squad. We lost ground last season and we will lose even more if MON dont start finding players and have a look in the cheque book.
