  1. Was a cracker, Rainer. Frank wanted him to fight a smarter fight rather than swinging and leaving himself open to shots against someone who had been considered a puncher.

Naz is a right porker  A couple of quotes from him:

"The second coming of Naz is here...I know that's high praise" Modest as ever

"You know who I want to see him in with?... Manny Pacquiao...I see Kell knocking Pacquiao out"

  2. The Klits are rubbish aren't they? I reckon Haye will hammer both of 'em if they ever grow a pair

Wlad Klitschko, the lineal heavyweight champion, offered Haye 50/50 and he turned it down to fight Harrison. Who needs to grow a pair?

This 'lineal' shit means nothing to be honest, and I'm not sure Wlad even is that but I can't be bothered to check. There's so many stupid belts these days...

However if Haye is ducking Klitschko and waiting for him to get old then that's a bit of a words removed trick normally, but considering Klitschkos history of fighting shot fighters I wouldn't hold it against Haye too much in this instance.

If I were Haye I'd be champing at the bit to get the man into the ring though, he (Klitschko) looked awful last night.

The Ring is the only one I'll give any credibility to. Hence why I didn't mention his bullshit IBO strap (which he seems to love :?) or any others. You'll have to take my word that he is. Surely even you can't deny that he currently deserves that.

In the Peter fight I could see some good signs for Haye. I'm pretty sure he would have no problems getting under the jab. Even Peter was for the first 2 rounds.

    Talking of Lewis, I love

    knockdown.
  3. Didn't know that

But from what I read it seems the Klits are masters of the dodge, I assumed that's what was happening here

Don't agree with that tbh, Rob. There hasn't been anyone to dodge in the heavyweight division reallly, and to be fair to Vitali he was desperate for a rematch with Lewis.

That loss to Lewis is still the most impressive thing on his record, which just about sums it up really :P

Arguments still rage on ESB about that rematch. Call me old fashioned and all that but if the champion turns your face into mincemeat in 6 rounds then you really can't whine about not getting a rematch, especially when the champion is not far off 40 years old :)

He was up on the scorecards though so they do have a point. I don't see why the champ should be looked upon badly for retiring when he was in the worst shape of his career though. What makes me laugh is that they seem to think him being up on the cards equals a victory

He didn't offer him 50-50. Haye asked for 50-50 and was offered 50-50 on everything except Germany where Klit wanted 100%. So Haye offered 50-50 but Klit takes the German money and Haye takes the British money. Klit declined. Both sides agree this is what happened, it's up to people to make their minds up as to who's in the wrong.

That's not exactly true. Haye was offered 50-50 with Wlad's current TV company RTL but Haye wanted Wlad to move to a different company who were offering £1m more. Wlad couldn't do that because he is tied into a contract with RTL. Haye then asked for all UK money with Wlad keeping all Germany money but that would have meant Haye would have been getting more than 50% so Wlad said no. So the truth is that Haye was offered 50% and turned it down.

Absolutely agree, Gringo, about the standard of opponents.

  6. thisfight will never go ahead as mayweather wants to be remembered for being unbeaten. everyone knows manny pac willkick **** outa him
Which is why Floyd is odds on with the bookies.

England are usually favourites to win the World Cup going into a tournament.

Well, that's completely different, and I think you know that.

Booth fought well, and can leave with his head held high. Correct decision though.

    Now we have Wlad-Peter :|

  7. Boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. was arrested Friday in Las Vegas and charged with felony theft related to a domestic violence complaint filed by a former girlfriend.

Mayweather, 33, was booked Friday on a grand larceny charge and was held on $3,000 bail, Las Vegas police Officer Bill Cassell told the Associated Press.

Richard Wright, Mayweather's attorney, said the boxer was accused of taking an iPhone from Josie Harris, the mother of three of his children. "He did not commit any grand larceny," Wright told the AP.

On Thursday, Harris made a police complaint and sought a Family Court protection order and alleged that Mayweather punched her in the head and twisted her arm.

  8. I cant stand Audley Harrison, and this fight is just about the revenue its going to bring in. Whats the betting Harrison gets destroyed, and then in his interview afterwards at ringside he says 'Ill be back, you haven't seen the best Audley Harrison yet, the best is yet to come', like he always does..

I suppose this will be shortly after he finishes kissing his old mate David's arse.

  9.

Klitschko doesn't do classics, he does jab and grab snoozefests....that's what this will be too, just like the first fight - unless Peter has lost his punch resistance that he had first time they met. That tends to happen with HW's that have had a few beatings.

Be nice if he lands on that china though, I'd be on ESB for 12 hours straight :)

Wouldn't surprise me if he has lost a bit. What would be better than the win itself would be the excuses that would follow.

I'm pretty sure they will be able to sell the MEN arena out.

I don't doubt that but PPV is where the money is at.

  10. **** paying for that, it'll be over in the first round.

I think the latest Wlad Klitschko debacle is free at the weekend at least, should be good for a laugh anyway. It'll be like gay come dancing with the occasional left jab thrown in, and Sam Peter will probably shake his taters from time to time to keep everyone awake.

God knows why Sky have bothered paying for that. If it's meant to build up a Haye fight then I don't see how boring anyone who watches it to death is going to work. How about showing a half decent fight like Lopez-Marquez, shit, I'd rather watch Limond-Morales than that crap.

They're paying for it because Peter decked glass Wlad 3 times in the first fight they had. Also because it's probably cheap. Can't see this fight ending well for Peter, he hasn't looked good to me since the last Wlad fight, and he didn't look particularly good before and during that to be honest.

That was 5 years ago as well. I'm still praying that he comes out of it screaming "WHO NEXT?!" though :)

Haha, just seen on the advert they described the first fight as "a classic". That's a bit far.

  11. **** paying for that, it'll be over in the first round.

  12. “As a boxing fan, I hate the fight, because Audley has not boxed anyone in the top 20, but I know that maybe David didn’t deserve a shot at Valuev,” Booth said. “Within Britain it will be a fight that people would love to see, but [Haye] will receive a lot of criticism worldwide. He will be called a coward for not facing the Klitschkos and his credibility will be shot to pieces.
  13. Haye could have easily got himself a decent opponent. Adamek, Povetkin, Chagaev, even old man Holyfield would be better than Harrison. I wouldn't mind if he hadn't talked so much trash about how he was all about this legacy and not the money.
