Sounds like the Huntelaar sighting again when it turned out to be Steve Strides son!! Probably nothing to be fair, most likely it's some unknown and his agent. Doesn't look like de Jong or Ramis to me. The one on the left could be Karl Pilkington maybe?!

I'd love Phillips, a great talent. He's exactly the sort of player I can see us signing, young, hungry and talented. Hope PL can make this happen.

Depends what we all determine a success really, any improvement on last season is relative success. Top 10 and he's done well, a sustained top 6 challenge and he's done brilliantly.

I think we will finish top 10 and flirt with the top 7 for the most part of the season. I think PL has all the characteristics to be a success here, and he just needs a bit of luck and good backing which he will get IMO.

Just seen on the OS PL lauding Given and Dunne, so if that's the case I can see Dunne sticking around and Collins being shipped out making room for a new CB which is fine by me. A motivated focused Dunne is a real asset to us IMO.

I like Dempsey, but at 29 and looking for a big move it's not the type of player Lambert is looking at as he's said himself. Not worth the fee or the contract he would be after.

However, in terms of Carroll, reading Rodgers latest comments, he really doesn't like him does he?! A punt on Carroll on loan with a reasonable buy in clause could be worthwhile, although we all know Liverpool will want to recoup most of there money, and he wouldn't be worth that IMO.

Few whispers on twitter there could be movement today, I'd imagine one leaving or Guzan signing.

As for toivonen I'd take him, always liked what I've seen when he plays, wouldn't be against him signing, I'd imagine transfer fee and wages would be reasonable too.

Cracking player? Christ, there were no excuses for some of his performances last season (when he was supposedly fully fit!)

To be fair you could count on one hand how many times last season any of our players had a good game. We were that woeful 95% of the season!

Quite like Lichaj, was never that keen when he first came on the scene but he's grown on me. A good squad player to have around.

He absolutely battered west ham in his last game for us, oh those were the days!!

Bright new era under PL now tho and hopefully discover the next James Milner or Ashley Young.

Kjaer would be awesome thought he looked good at the euros, would do really well here I think.

I like Ireland but not sure I could see him as captain. He's a quality player who I think will be class this season, but as captain I just can't envisage it.

Delph is a cracking player and just needs a bit of luck, when we signed him he didn't have this terrible injury record, it was just the fact he nakered his knee and then had a few set backs! Hopefully he'll get a good pre season under his belt and impress PL.

If we are getting another striker in I'd like someone who can play more as a number 10 besides/behind Bent. A young version of Robbie Keane would be ideal.

I like Carroll and he's fantastic at what he does, I don't think I've seen many better at the timing and the leaping he has when heading the ball. But it wouldn't be feasible getting him here at the minute due to amount of money Liverpool would want to recoup, he's simply not worth it.

However I'd much prefer a creative forward in the mould of a young Robbie Keane in order for us to get it on the deck and play more rather than play hoofball to Carroll. I'd rather bring in Jones on the cheap and spend more on a creative forward as Jones is capable of winning headers a la Carroll.

Not so fast, apparently the guy who broke the KEA news is saying the Brahimi deal is still on, but Rennes are holding out for more money...

I really like Jean Deux and hope he takes his chance with both hands and proves all he can cut it at this level. Just seems to be one if those players who I'm willing to do well, the same with Delph and Ireland as I see something all of them that they could be a real asset to us.

Feels as though we have a good back room staff set up this time round rather the bodged nature of Houllier and McLeish's teams. I'm still curious as to what a head of football operations does, is he a glorified coach or does he handle contract and transfer matters?

I can't see Gabby leaving this summer, I have a feeling Gabby will have another cracker this season with PL playing to his strengthes, he has a lot to offer in some aspects but his game is limited at times. On his day he's unplayable, and hopefully he'll have his day more often this season.

Ah buggar disappointed about this, looked a good little player, hopefully PL has someone similar lined up for a bit of attacking flair!
