They had the tables toward the end of Ellis' reign which you can google no doubt but football finance has changed so much in the last 10 - 15 years the relevance isn't really there also the figures this year don't favour Premier League clubs as our new TV deal is on next years list so you will see more Premier League in the top 30 next year.

long and short of it is who cares as long as our income always goes up year on year different clubs have different opportunities such as selling a big player ala Bale or Arsenal selling off their old ground, the list continues.

You say it all points to that but I think the opposite if you are going to in effect change the direction of the club completely to start again all the signs that are mentioned point to what I think also.

As for investing in better players it seems fairly clear we have 20m a season to spend that's been spread thin to get rid of players and fill a squad. The players brought in are mostly worth the same or more than what we paid so that is something we aren't used to lol.

Logic says and this really is an over to you Lambo moment........ that if he is handed 20m and spreads it about in the same way then I'll be pissed but logic says he would just buy say 2 or 3 players with it which you would imagine at 7 to 10m to spend on each player it would be hard not to improve.

All conjecture of course but that's the way I have seen it for sometime.

I'll put my neck on the line and say none of what has gone on is a smoke screen and he isn't selling before next season.

I still think things will be on the up from the end of this season onward just because of the measures taken over the last couple of years

I'd rather us sign an attacking midfielder than any other position and on loan if it isn't going to be a player of proven quality.

I think we are at the place now where we are good financially with the wages so if there is no more budget left this season other than say 1 or 2m then I would rather just buy 2 or 3 proper players in the summer.

Spending should be by enlarge always done in the summer something might come up in January like a short term loan or a player you have been after for years but buying in January is a result of bad planning usually.

We signed a loan player within our wage budget replacing a player out for the rest of the season job done.

The income generated by match day fans pales in comparison to TV revenue, sponsorship and merchandising sales.

I find all this lark of preparing a bid quite funny too, all you do is pick up the phone or send an email with an offer for the player.

I have no idea if Defour will flop if signed as I haven't seen him play for the last couple of years but he was certainly good before that when I have seen him.

What I will say is the club has an opportunity to do some early business now that we don't play Arsenal for a week so hopefully they will get something done before that game whoever they want to sign.

Also as a side note as we haven't really been dealing in buying 5m plus players for sometime now it's hard to judge who we should be after as fans but it isn't hard to judge where we need players to be signed. IMO all players signed from now on should be players who are supposed to be better than what we have in that given position as when all our players are fit we have pretty good cover for the standard of player we now have at the club.

You could well be right but then you would be crediting Randy with being able to assess the squad at the start of this process.

I believe that rough figure is what is available each year along with a vague wage cap.

well he's had 20 million roughly each of the last two summers it's not too much to expect he will get the same especially with improving finances which is the point of all this crap we are going through

You don't mention Westwood, Lowton, Benteke etc in your post fact is we are getting the same results as we were before but its costing a whole load less that can only be good for future investment in the club. This isn't a lambert issue its a money issue. You can place that at Randy's door if you believe owners are just there to fund clubs or you can accept mistakes have been made and this is the first part of fixing those mistakes for a stronger future.

Yep we definitely should have got more than 1 point from the last 15 but we haven't were still in an ok place in the league and were still clearing out the players not wanted.

Next to the speculation....

News flash my car is up forsale if someone offers me silly money the same goes for your house and maybe even your family pet.

Until someone has been appointed to handle the sale, someone from the club says something, a buyer says something or at the very least a detailed article in a news paper this is all bollocks.
