I said two games ago when he scored that if he gets 2 or 3 in the next 5 games he will probably come alive again. Looks like its happening that's got to be worth a few draws into wins for the rest of the season.

I'm not a scout or a football manager but I fail to see at this point in time what the point of bringing in any player that offers either nothing different from what we have or a player in any position that is no better than what we have.

We have a full squad now, the unwanted players are almost all gone now is the time to spend nothing rather than spend for the sake of it.

If what I have thought since Lambert came is right we should be buying more expensive players this summer (same budget as always but many less players needed) if that doesn't pan out and either we don't get the same money to spend I'll moan about Randy if Lambert goes and buys like he has previously (but this time needlessly) I'll moan about him.

You never know sometimes it takes a big money signing to get stuff moving so Newcastle with 20m in their pocket may kick off some movement. Stranger things have happened, but I still don't think we have more than 1 or 2 million left from this seasons budget.

It's not that weird him going on loan IF you consider the situation maybe that he has told his club he is going on a free in the summer and Blackpool receive a loan fee. Other than that its weird.

Using your last post that would come under bad planning unless there were a small amount of the original budget yet.

When players are signed in January it generally means that the club has failed to plan what they will need the season. Transfer budgets should be spent in the summer window.  Only very occasionally does it mean that a target of the club that they have had their eye on for sometime  has suddenly become available.

What's a meltdown signing? A Big panic buy for a club that is in serious trouble of going down?
