I agree with this, Petrov is getting scapegoated he wasn't good enough but was by no means the worst villa player out there today, aslo Bent could only work off scraps today but he worked hard today.

Poor performance, Stan wasn't as bad as people making out but he needs to be dropped. Would also prefer Cuellar at rb and stick walker to left back where he played for Sheff Utd. Ash was useless again he is a winger.

Start Delfouneso, Reo-Coker and Cuellar for Clark,Petrov,Gabby vs Blackpool won't be an easy game and I think we are back in a relegation fight at this stage, will need more than 40pts to stay up this year I think.

For me, unless we get offered 8m I wouldn't let him go not even on loan. He can do a job here for us from the bench in place of pires and prove himself if he doesn't then re-evaluate in the summer.

He needs to be given a proper chance not 5/6 games scattered around. He has been poor so far but the same can be said of many this season.

Bent obviously wants to come hence handing in the transfer request, not many other clubs would be willing or be able to pay for him so this should go through quickly, Can't see a tevez/rooney turnaround being likely and the Sunderland fans would probably want him gone now.

He's a real off the shoulder of the defender player, very intelligent in getting into space very different to what we've got would be a brilliant signing. Always rated him great goalscorer at every club he's been at.

still a lot to prove for me. Not sure he can play with Gabby either. Think he needs the foil of a big man.

I think Delf is far more intelligent than Gabby in his play and IMO has far more talent than Gabby but his attitude needs to match his talent. I rate Gabby highly and he works well at holding up play but he doesn't make enough clever runs or have that instinct to ever score 20 goals a season at the top level.

I'd be interested in seeing Delf paired with Heskey two clever players

A long way to go, we could have won that but same old story too many missed chances costing us again.

I can recall about 6/7 games this season where we should have picked up more points but a lack of a clinical striker costing us.

Better at the back but brum are hardly the most attacking team in the league.

Most nervous I've been about a villa game in along time, time for the players to show some responsibility and go out their and win today. Too many excuses, Houllier has been rightly getting stick but the players are as much to blame.

I didn't want Ireland and I'm not bothered if he goes, I just don't think he's that good a midfielder to be honest. Houllier doesn't fancy him either for personality reasons, it seems, so I'd be surprised if there is anyway back for him here.

However, if they did find it in themselves to change, and Houllier opened the door, I'd like to experiment playing him up front.

I remember seeing Ireland play his first few games for city 5/6 years ago and was impressed with his technique and vision and even at that young age was ahead of bannon IMO. Ireland is a talent it's there to see in glimpses unfortunately that's not enough I really rate him but his performances so far have been poor and he's the sort of player who needs an arm around his shoulder.

At the moment we need fighters, petrov for me has that passion but his legs are gone and I don't think this is the time for SI but if he wants a career he needs to step up big time.

He's very composed on the ball, good technique and a very classy player but he needs to toughen up to deal with physical players because at the moment the likes of Carroll/drogba would dominate him.

I think he will become a very good player in time.

Think I saw somewhere that SI,Carew and Warnock were frozen out again and didn't travel for the game tomorrow. I think houllier has hinted a couple of times that SI would be at 'some stage' involved when that is who knows!

Transitional season we'll finish anywhere from 7th to 14th, I'm optomistic though some good signings and continue to develop the young players and we will challenge 4th next season.

Funnily enough playing teams who actually try play football we should do well against, I worry more about playing burn/stoke than Arsenal/Lpool.

Clark has been very impressive and has arguably changed the game for us, his composure and touch has been brilliant, I think he could develop into a top-top class central midfielder.

warnock abysmal AGAIN needs to get back to playing as he did in his first 10 or so games , rather than the awful shite he has displayed in the 30/40 games since

Warnock has been in AWFUL form was rubbish midweek and was the weak link last week vs West Ham, can't remember his last good game.

MacDonald knows these lads well and obviously has faith in them, This I hope can be the start of a great new era for AVFC. Similarities to The Utd team of 95? We've Been hearing about these kids a while let's hope they can live up to the expectation.(I think they will!)

Villa at this stage need a high profile name that the players will respect and will be able to attract high profile players, prem experience is important too so for me it has to be Jol or Moyes but I think both are out of reach for various reasons. Would be crazy to go for klinsman(flopped at only club job)or Bilic, Zola etc.,

First Barry now Milner I think contracts need to be reviewed in future they benefit the player too much, contracts should all be 3/4 yrs then the club should have the option to extend it by another 1/2 years if they wish. This would stop all this crap of sell now or sell for less next season.

Milner has been overrated, he had a good season but only good, cash plus Ireland and we'll be stronger already.
