  1. The biggest trader with the UK is...........

    The Euro zone.

    Nice work Dave.

Did Cameron come out and say we weren't going to trade with Europe anymore?

    Whats your point:

1- Europe are more likely to do more trade and make things easy as a result of this move.

2- Europe is not more likely to do more trade and is more likley to make things difficult after we have shoved to fingers up at them.

  2. ...Cameron has just done what any remotely sane British PM would have done and protected the largest single UK industry from being raped, with the proceeds being used to prop up failing eurozone profligates...

The banksters are the ones doing the raping.

The people being propped up are the banks and the bondholders who own them, ie the richest few per cent of the population. All this nonsense about propping up "Greece" and "Ireland" is just a smokescreen. It's the wealthy who are being bailed out, and not in any respect the countries where some of these banks currently have their HQ.

    Peterns spot on again pal.

When will people learn that Cameron represents the o.5% richest in the country....! I guess a lot of people will have to learn the hard way.

  3. Is it wrong for a politician to make Homophobic comments in Parliment...?

No idea what you are talking about but is it even tenuously related to the economy?

    If not, wrong thread.

oh but it is so the right place....!

Completely shows how Gideon is alienated from the vast majority of people from this country. The question that is put to him - he does not even give the people who are suffering from his actions 2 seconds of concern.

  4. The thing is I'm actually fine with the squad. The defense is a bit shit but we have some good attacking players in there. There are many things out of McLeish's control but the main things people are complaining about - style of play and tactics - are completely in his control. It's silly really because if anything our squad is more geared towards attack.

Fine with the squad...? Our squad is utter pants, Our centre midfield consisted of Jenas, Herd and Bannan....!

good attacking players - That depends on what you mean by good. We certianly do not have attacking players of the calibre of United, city, spuds, Arsenal, spurs and pool

I agree playing Heskey in Midfield and Gabby on the left side of Midfield is not the best thing to do.

  5. I think McClesish has got a lot of things out of his control.

He has been told more or less there is little to no money to spend on transfers.

The wage bill has to be trimmed.

You have to the best with the squad.

Having said that he buys Hutton, plays Heskey in midfield, loaned our Gardner who is miles better than Herd.

  6. id love to know what we do in training, because it sure isnt practicing keeping the ball. training probably consists of the defenders having a competition to see who can smash it highest and furthest.

You go to Bodymoor and see what a fantastic facility it is and you just think it's a crime that McLeish is in charge there. Think of the work a proper up and coming coach could do on those immaculate pitches, think how grateful and appreciative he would be to work in an environment geared to producing attacking, winning football played by a group of hungry young players - and then cry.

Tell that to the board they hired him.

  7. Why are you doing the Tories work for them.

He is a Tory. He makes no secret of it (shameless hussy). He is doing his own work for himself, therefore.

    Exacly.

That still does not excuse the self absorbed obtrusive attitude of "we have a bad one they should have a bad one"

  8. Ridiculous Biased question after today's performance - but I will vote on it any way...!

The problem is so much deeper than the manager, are you incapable of realizing this. Until we do things are not going to get any better.

I would prefer him over Martinez any day.

Its the board you need to question not Mccleish.

  9. Pile of rubbish.

Like I have always said the reality of getting rid of MON was always going to be this. We are not even financially better off. Attendences are worse, wages have not decreased as much and the revenue from competitions will decrease.

So those who wanted MON out you have you wish dont moan about the football and results that we are witnessing.

  10. Out of interest , would things not be much simpler if public sector workers weren't given pensions and were paid the same way as people in the private sector and then responsible for their own pension provisions ?

also on the pensions front , I've got some info to get my head around for 2013 as it appears our company will have to start paying 1% (for now) contribution to all staff into a pension fund (NEST ) ... it gets tricky as we employ around 600 people on a ad-hoc basis , some may work once or twice a month some 5 days a week .. BUT the inland revenue have already decreed these people are employees and as such I have to give them holiday pay and could potentially have to start giving them a pension .. we pay them £60 a day (+12% holiday pay which i assume it's due pension contributions) ) so that will mean they accrue 60p for a pension every time they work for us , although if they don't earn a certain amount we don't have to pay them I believe ... I've no doubt someone will tell me how it's only fair and just etc but I suspect the only winners are the managers of these funds

So you don’t want people in the public sector to have a good pension because private pensions are not as good.

Is that what you want a race to the bottom.

What a fantastic argumentenal viewpoint to take, with that attitude its a race to the bottom for everyone. We should be fighting for better pension rights for everyone not worse off for everyone.

You just don’t get it do you. These people entered in to a working contract the majority of which well over 10 years ago. You cannot just come along and then decide to alter that contract because it suits your government. ESPECIALLY when it was mainly the bankers that caused this Global economic climate.

Why are you doing the Tories work for them.

  11. You simply cant compare the two as SCAMERON has been trying to. The reason why Pubilc sector pensions have traditionally been better than private sector pensions is because pay in the public sector is worse so to compensate this public sector workers have got a better pension.

Wrong. On average, public sector salaries are higher, and their pensions are a lot, lot higher.

    LOL - no no.

It depends how you measure it.

Can you make hundreds of pounds in the public sector even thousands and tens of thousands of bonuses in the public sector as much as you can in the private sector?

Do you get as many company cars worth 10k plus in the public sector as much as you do in the private sector.

Do you get as much perks such as private health care in the public sector in the private sector.

If you believe all that all answers to the above are yes and you don't work in the public sector, then come across if you think its that good and you might see things in relative proportion.

Like I said if your taking the view that Public sector pensions are better than private sector pensions then that's a race to the bottom for all. We should be trying to give both sectors better pensions.

  12. I am getting well pissed off with the constant mantra of: "Well private sector pensions are worse, we pay for your big pensions with our taxes", etc.

OK, why doesn't everybody flock to be a nurse or a teacher instead of a financial analyst or a lawyer, then? The fact is that that argument is a total red herring.

I started my I.T. career in the private (insurance) sector. My pension plan wasn't as good as the one I have now as a university employee, true. But I did get very nice profit sharing bonuses that I don't get now - swings and roundabouts.

We all pay taxes for the services that public sector workers provide, not especially the pensions (which are arguably the only "perk" of the job). We don't "think we're worth more than others", but we do think we're worth what the employers (the government) agreed we are worth.

Stop trying to compare apples with oranges and stick to the matter in hand - the government are trying to claw back money that the bankers pissed up the wall by taking it off those who had nothing to do with the mess we are in. Once a Tory, always a Tory. They look after their mates. Well, given the very limited means to do so, so do we.

I agree with a lot of this. The people who are in the private sector who are moaning that public sector workers get paid too bigger pension are going down the wrong avenue. All. we should be fighting for better pensions for ALL and not worse pensions for all, With this attitude its a race to the bottom not to the top.

You simply cant compare the two as SCAMERON has been trying to. The reason why Pubilc sector pensions have traditionally been better than private sector pensions is because pay in the public sector is worse so to compensate this public sector workers have got a better pension.

Even still Public sector workers rarely get company cars, mobile phones and bonuses, when comparing the two to make out that the public gets it better is laughable. Dave and his fat cat chums do not believe in the public sector and they never have done. Hence the reason that the public sector are reviving a the fair whack of the brunt when it has come to financial hardship is down to ideological studies.

  13. [quote=

Balls is pitbull in the house but a thicktool when it comes to policy.

    A thicktool crickey..!

What does that make Georgie Porgie.

He predicted 2.8% growth this year when its actually been 0.6% roughly.

He predicted the deficit would be halved in 5 years and has now said there will be no guarantee that it will not be halved in 7 years.

For some one who said they would be tough on the banks.

For some who said that they would crack down on tax evasion.

Add to that inflation increases, record levels of unemployment, Britain being smashed up in the summer, and a Recession - not to far.

His plan is clearly not working for the vast majority of people in this country. . He went on Holiday in the summer to one of his 100 holiday homes in LA where he sipped on the finest wine and lavished himself in the finest gourmet foods - what a joker. Its seems apparent that yes everybody is in this together just some more that others, Which is a tad different to " we are all in this together.

Nothing like getting things in to proportion.
