Houllier thinks he's doing us a favour by managing us! Whereas the majority of us think he's lucky to still be in a job.
The majority of us think he should stay.
Which majority you basing that on?
Ha, Sun 3:32, it's 50/49!

Houllier must stay!

I think the pre-season has already started. This is interesting. & exciting!

Mancini knows our left back situation. It will be interesting to see his XI. Wright-Phillips, Silva or Milner on the right wing? I don't think they will play 4-3-3 with three centre forwards like they did against Fulham. But then again it's Mancini.
Is Warnock out of the picture?
Not going to happen and it's crazy but I think we will win 2-0 or 3-1 tonight. And I have 100% prediction record - goes always wrong.
-
I didn't see the game. Fantastic.

Fulham's or ours?Sack the board. -
Downing motm for me but that's not saying much. Petrov is currently a complete liability, coker should definitely start with makoun at blackpool.
Downing the riddle you mean? You never know what to get from him. I'm beginning to turn a bit on him to be frank. He is too patchy...
vs. Man.Utd: Downing cross, Bent scores.
vs. Fulham: Downing cross, Pantsil scores (og).
Sure, and those were great. But I just think he can do so much better and don't doubt.
Maybe I just have higher thought of him. Overall this season he is the player of the year.
Agreed.

The more I think about todays performance, the more bewildered I become about GH's first team selection and formation.
I think this was another trial. There is a winning formation somewhere, Houllier just hasn't found it yet. Patience.
Over to those who think he never will...

Our new striking force Agbonlahor-Bent-A Young was worse than our 3 men midfield. Without Downing's crossballs we had approximately zero activity in front of Fulham's goal. Even Walker's shot was from 30yards. And poor defending.
Albrighton should have started. Cuellar should have started.
Defence and attack 5. Midfield 7.
IMO our midfield trio played well. Just because we struggled at both ends we probably would have needed NRC today, at least defensively.
Friedel 5
Walker 7
Collins 5
Dunne 6
Clark 6
Downing 7.5
Petrov 6
Makoun 7
A Young 5
Bent 4
Agbonlahor 4
And this
Albrighton---A Young---Downing
----------------Bent
works better than any formation with Gabby on the flank.
-
Wiggin 4-2 up against blackburn - puts a few things in perspective.
Yes. There are 20 good teams/squads/clubs in the Premier League. Some of them are very good, a couple of them the best in the world. Means you can lose any game.
And ****.
-
A shot quite good.
-
-----------------Friedel
Walker---Cuellar----Dunne---Clark
----Downing---Bradley---Makoun
A Young---------Bent---Agbonlahor
CM probably too risky there, Petrov or NRC should be in maybe both. And Albrighton replacing no-winger Gabby.
-
C'mon boys, fighting spirit!!!! It's only Man.Utd, they lose games too.

What Stephen Ireland needs is an arm around his shoulder...
That won't help if the opponent is Yaya Toure.
-
I do not rate him as a manager
I do not believe he is the best man for us
I believe he will not take us forward
I do want him to leave the club.
-
Can I just add the words of top 8 haven't come from his mouth, I'm just saying the club are aware we will need to finish top 8 or realistically no lower than 7th to keep him... this also hinges on how quick we make moves in Summer and who we buy.
anyway this is Stephen Ireland thread... sorry for taking it off topic
One step at a time.
-
No I mean in general, we just need top 8
This means it must be top 5 next season?
-
This is good news!

Well, looks like Houllier got his way eventually I suppose.
For the record, I am all in favour of a new manager putting his stamp on the team, bringing in his own players and moving on players he does not want.
However I object, strongly, to the manner in which he has handled Stephen Ireland. There's a difference between playing mind games in the media and blatantly lying and playing games with a man's family life.
Really? He tried Ireland, didn't work. We had players playing better so he was left out which was fair enough. GH thought Ireland needed to pull his socks up which he stated int he media, which was bad on GH part.
GH said the other day he wouldn't be going anywhere which was probably playing hard ball with teams who were trying to sign him.
GH said that Ireland had been doing well in training and may get a chance soon but other players were playing well and I think Ireland may have sustained his injury not long after this.
Sometimes it just doesn't work for a player at a certain club. I'm sure the door will still be open here if he does well after his loan spell.
This is what happens in football all the time.
GH 10 SI 0.

And outside XI:
-------------------Marshall
L Young-----Collins----Dunne----Warnock
-----------Petrov----------Makoun
Albrighton------A Young----------Downing
--------------------Bent
That's (almost) our A-team a month ago. Competition for places I would say.
-
Exciting, looks like simple 4-3-3?

Maradona10, if it is over 50% it is always a majority, and now it is 53/46.
(I'm just enjoying while it lasts.)
