  1. I think Moyes has his own small "empire" at Goodison Park. Good players, good squad. I think he's happy there, respected by the fans and I would be amazed if he decided to move away.

Pessimistically thinking he probably would be the only manager who's , in worst case scenario, failure as a Villa manager would be (bitterly) accepted. I believe everyone else's short term failure would soon bring the "whateverhisnameis OUT" banners back.

So, if GH decides not to continue, the new manager must get things right from day one. Whatever happens it would be nice to see the fans backing the manager, current or new, welcome him and give him time.

I hope Houllier will be back.

  2. I think, I believe, some of the reasons for our poor performances and results have been injuries and suspensions, basic errors on the field AND these off-the-field problems, reports and rumours. And we have had LOTS of them. I don't blame Houllier for these.

It's immensely generous to exempt H from the blame for all off-the-field problems. What about him alienating some of our players by public criticism via the press? Must have had some impact!

I think the phrase they call it is day-dreaming Briny :winkold: It's a completely non-sensical arguement.

My vote this month is "Oui", and it is still MY vote, YOU can't change that, no matter how hard YOU try.

  3. Cannot imagine why anyone would consider last 2 months as good .

Just baffling and tbh just plain straight up mental.

I don't think I've said that I consider the last 2 months as good.

If the poll was "Are you happy with the results recently?" then my vote would have been "Non". To me the results don't tell the whole story.

Well...the poll is for whether you approve of Houllier over the last 2 months.

Whether you think Houllier can magically not be crap one day in future etc is open to debate etc ..but you approve of his management over last 2 months ?- specifically the last 2 months?

Sorry - but no **** way for me .

His management over the last 2 months sees us now 16th and still talking of staying up in bloody April!

How can you specifically approve of that?

    +

For crying out loud it's not hard surely to read a simple question? This poll is NOT do you want Houllier sacked, or whether you like Houllier, or want to meet Houllier, go shopping with him etc etc.

It is specifically, during the time period mentioned, do you approve with how Houllier has done? Simple.

And the fact we've gone on one of the worst runs, coupled with all the off-the-field problems, reports and rumours - how can any Villa fan in there right mind vote yes? It's completely illogical - regardless of whether you like him or not.

  4. The fifth in our long running series of Monthly Polls on the Manager. Poll open until end of May.

If this poll was open until now/today, my vote would be "Non".

But if this poll is open until end of May I'll back the manager and vote "Oui".

If this poll is open until May then this poll is not about past months - if voting before end of May.

Very good point. That's the problem with continental breakfasts including a dashing of alcohol, amended opening post to say 'end of april'

Thanks, I can finish my sandwich now :D

  5. My god 6 people approve of the job he has done over the last 2 months. How low some peoples standards are. Each to their own though as we are all different.

We'd probably get the odd one who'd approve of the job he'd done if we went down which is highly likely if the one win in 8 of the last two months continues.

I don't think anyone approves this

    Results since last poll: LDDWLLLD

Even if the managers name was Ferguson or Mourinho there would be over 50% Non-votes.

It seems to me that this poll is not about the last 2 months and LDDWLLLD. This poll is about "I want Houllier out ... sorry, boiled, no matter what, no matter how the rest of the season goes".

We should vote after the last game of the season.

  7. It is actually your post on page 3 alienvillan and it has been extremely badly edited.

Well Richard, you should know me by now. Bad English, little knowledge and mad.

But I still think Houllier is the right man for the job. And you are wrong. :D

  8. The results have been poor. Weekend headaches. But this has been MOS'n squad and he had his way of doing things. Houllier has been some sort of "culture shock". And it takes time to change things. And you can't deny, we have had some "problems" this season and it has not all been Houllier related. GH hasn't had many injury free weeks. And trouble players haven't helped the situation.

Today's performance was poor (I believe because I was watching bad quality streams) and it was a must win game, so I understand the frustration and I feel the same but I really think this is the time when the club, the manager and the players need the support from the fans, all fans.

I still have faith in Houllier. If I'm mad? We know the answer sometime in May.

I agree with you mate, your not mad..You obviously see the bigger picture like I do.

You need to change the quote mate as I never said those words I'd have been embarrassed to write most of them

HAHAHA! Richard, I know deep inside you love Houllier. LOL

  9. I would hate to think of the response that Richard would give to such a presumptious thread that he did not agree with.

Houllier is our manager, and Houllier will be our manager until at least the end of the season so deal with it. Anti-Houllier brigades and booing players is quite possibly the worst thing we could do right now.

    :thumb:

  10. I'm not the one who's still behind a manager who's actually worried about the relegation threat. That proves me to his gonna balls it up for us and you obviously show no concern over this if you continue to back him.

As long as he is the manager I'll back him. MON had 4 years, GH has had 6-7 months and things going against him, angry fans too.

But outside football, I'm quite mad.

His brought it all on himself. A lot of fans were close to forgiving him from the Liverpool farce, even myself but after waving the white flag to Man City and saying we're not good enough to lick their boots (figure of speech), he doesn't rate us at all. And what has paid off? Two follow up defeats against Bolton and Wolves. And we knew this would happen. Us the fans who pay his wages. It's abysmal. I actually hate him now.

I hope he gets forced out. There's still time to bring a manager in with two weeks breathing space again. But we have such an incompetent board as well as a manager that things will carry on downhill.

    He deserves no backing.

His brought it all on himself. - Details?

    - "white flag to Man City" - exaggeration.

    - "we're not good enough" - poor choice of words, yes.

    - "not good enough to lick their boots (figure of speech)" - that's BS!

    - "he doesn't rate us at all" - read his post match comments. No manager says that to anyone.

    - "defeats against Bolton and Wolves. And we knew this would happen." - no, we didn't!

    - "fans who pay his wages" - partly, and THOSE WHO pay.

    - "I actually hate him now" - shit!

    - "forced out" - this is his first year of his three (?) year plan.

    - "incompetent board" - calm down!

    - "downhill" - there will be sunshine after rain.

  12. What you mean like I did with Oneill or Oleary or Little or Gregory ?

You see just because I did not rate Houllier does not mean I do not rate any manager. I just thought he was wrong for us.

Do you still think he is right for us then or are you mad because it looks like he isn't right for us?

"It looks like" doesn't necessarily mean that he is.

The results have been poor. Weekend headaches. But this has been MOS'n squad and he had his way of doing things. Houllier has been some sort of "culture shock". No, we know the answer now. You are mad after having seen that no end product performance. Our strongest attack force couldn't do anything. He took albrighton off? Why on earth did he do that? Even the bench look stunned.

Actually, I wouldn't call you mad. I think you must be ill or something for still having faith in Houllier when his shown no signs of improvement. It's like you're not worried of us going down.

    Now you're mad!

  14. Who do you want ? and do you want a short term appointment to the end of the season or long term appointment made now who has the last 2 months to save us and assess his squad before the summer

I'd go for the second option and break the bank for Owen Coyle

What if he is someone You don't like? Do you want him out right from the start?

Like I did with Houllier you mean ? yeah qrong opinion of mine that was.

I take it you will start "___ out" campaign the day he is appointed?
