  1. Well I don't know. But I'm not sure they don't have the money. Everton are a big club (like Villa). Aren't they?

Everton are of a similar size to Aston Villa yes. Except, according to the entire footballing world and according to the evidence presented over the last few years, they don't have any money. They don't have a billionaire owner and they haven't sold anyone to raise the funds.

They're skint. Show me a single shred of evidence to suggest otherwise.

So the difference is a (/our) billionaire owner who realized that top6 is out of reach no matter how much you spend in the trasnsfer market (or who you appoint your next manager)?

I don't believe Everton are skint and I think Randy knows we don't have enough _anything_ to compete with the top6.

    So for nzogbia it's 50/50.

They have said so themselves and have been every season for the past about 6 seasons.... :?

Stragedy. I believe that's what we are going to hear for the next about 6 seasons (?).

  2. Evertons last signing which wasn't a free transfer was John Heitinga in August 2009, they do not have money.

Or they had (or have) money but they did not want to spent it because they thought the best they could do is finish 6th or 7th anyway... which they did. Probably a wise decision?

Try saying that to David Moyes who year on year has his squad decimated by injuries, but doesn't have the depth to deal with it.

Or are you just in denial?

    If we have a pre-season sub-bench team:

    Marshall

    --------------

    Lichaj

    Beye

    Clark

    Lowry

    ---------------

    Bannan

    Herd

    Johnson

    Delph

    ---------------

    Delfouneso

    Agbonlahor

and the manager is talking about signing ONE player ... shoot!

  4. It appears as if our wage bill may have been £384,000 per week over budget for a couple of years.

What should a good, responsible club owner do in that situation?

Maybe not be in that situation in the first place?

Or maybe this was the risk Randy took for CL football with the vision it would be reached in a certain period of time. This qualification was not achieved and now that level of wage is no longer sustainable so a new approach is needed.

I think that's what has happened. **** oil ... If only Randy had bought the club one year earlier...

  6. No they are not. It's not about ambition, it's about strategy.

OK then let's just ask when was the last time EFC signed a player?

Compare and contrast how much AVFC have spent on players in the same time period.

Villa strategy failed... we all know that. Because of oil money in Manchester. But obviously our strategy has changed. We are a 7-12th club now. We should know that.

What has any of that got to with Everton being skint? Or especially Charles N'Zogbia?

Nothing to do with N'Zogbia. But we are "in the same boat". 7th is the best we can do. Unless one or two of the top6 fail.

I'm fully aware of our current status within the perimeters of the league, that doesn't need repeating on this thread.

Still not entirely sure what makes you think Everton have any money.

Well I don't know. But I'm not sure they don't have the money. Everton are a big club (like Villa). Aren't they?

I see, so our initial strategy to be better than Everton hasn't come off, so we're now in the same group as Everton, albeit with more money - I understand. We now essentially have the same ambition as Everton, although our strategy involves buying players.

So if I get you right; you're basically saying he'd have to be crazy to join the wrong one of two very similar clubs, even if it is the only one that currently has the money to pay for him?

In my opinion Aston Villa = Everton (success wise). And I think Everton have got the money (we just don't think they have).

But I would like us to sign the player immediately!

    EDIT; Translation error

  9. Very strange...

I still think he'll go to Everton.

and how in gods name will they pay for him, more skint than we are.

No they are not. It's not about ambition, it's about strategy.

What strategy do Everton have then? Yes, they are skint. They may get a decent wedge of cash for Jagielka in the near future, they may not. Until that time they don't have a pot to piss in.

We, on the other hand, have money.

    To be a top7 club.

We probably have money but sadly there is nothing we can do with it. Money just isn't enough. And besides we don't have enough.

  11. So what do we actually KNOW?

    1. We have a vacancy

    2. We have contacted several clubs and potential candidates about said vacancy

    3. One potential candidate declined to be interviewed.

    4. RL is in Corsica.

    5. AM is believed to be in Sardinia

    6. DM is in the Caribbean.

    7. There was an FB post allegedly from the General (although noone can link to it) that implied that AM is being considered.

    8. The media know most of the above

    9. Birmingham is in uproar

    Is that about it.

Not really much to get upset about when you look at it like that.

So what do I actually KNOW?

    1. We have a vacancy

    2. Martinez declined to be interviewed.

    3. Everything else = non-stop media rumours and speculation

    4. About 1000 pages of BS, panic and masochism on VillaTalk

    5. We still have a vacancy

  12. That's it!

Lerner to Corsika on Thursday, McLeish to Corsika on Friday, negotiations, agreement, done deal.

Lerner escapes and flies to US on Saturday knowing VillaTalk would go ##!

When Lerner safe McLeish quits Birmingham on Sunday. Speculation on VillaTalk, 1+1=X+rage.

OS on Monday "McLeish the new manager!" Everybody back from holidays on July 7th hoping the dust has settled.

Please tell me that is sarcasm. Please?

    100%.

    bollocks. total bollocks.

AM did not resign until today and seems they both have interests in the same city (BRUM), what the hell is so good about corisca ffs.

i am sure the mr chung at the blues would of spouted out something if he thought AM was crossing the road to AVFC.

Prob to do wuth buying Marlon King and the statement confirming roger johnson is to be sold - prob both done without consulting AM.

Remember MON, managers can get pissed off and walk.

Maybe AM sent that email on Friday but the chung read it today.

    But yes, it's total bollocks.
