  1. There comes a point when Villa fans have to stop looking backwards at the remote past when teams like Spurs, Chelsea and many, many, many others weren't even in the league structure.

So what you are saying is that since the less traditional clubs like Spurs and Chelsea thought the idea of a league would never work and refused to join, that our league titles don't count.

On that basis I am now going to say that Spurs League cup victory a few years ago counted for nothing because Arsenal played their reserve team in the competition.

Absolutely stupid point you bring up. Clutching at straws.

  2. Your manager is a despicable piece of shit who will turn his back on you given half a chance ....

As I've already said, your (now ex) manager has already turned his back on you: those who live in glass houses would be wise not to throw stones.

As you say, he's our ex manager so how would that mean he is in a 'glass house'?

your statement doesn't make sense at all there. Completely contradicted yourself.

  3. I've got to agree with the people that are saying it's not 'bad luck' anymore.

First of all I've got to say it was unlucky but this seems to be the third season in a row when Everton players have been injured for a long period and it is no coincidence now IMO.

Either that or you have a lot of very injury prone players.

  4. How do Spurs fans feel about Redknapp essentially saying that he wants to quit the job in 2 years time?

Better than Villa fans feel about a manager who ditched them without prior notice just days before the season began.

And doubtless better than Villa fans feel about a replacement manager who has said that Villa's natural station is somewhere between 7th and 12th place, who has also compared Villa unfavourably with his former club (Liverpool), and who, although apparently appointed as manager, won't actually become manager until some unspecified future date.

It may be a step down for you, Monsieur Houllier, but I'm sure Villa fans will take you into their warm embrace anyhow ..... whenever you arrive that is.

    :lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

You've been planning that for days haven't you?

Do you not read this forum once you have posted and see how much of a fool you look?

Somebody wondered whether Spurs fans would be happy about that, which I'm sure they're not, and then you go on to slate Villa, completely unprovoked.

On the subject on what players and managers say about their team, I'm looking forward to seeing Spurs finish ahead of Arsenal :D

  5. I read on here that Delph is apparently much better than Dawson.
I have already explained about that. In the same way that a player like Shaun Maloney is a better player than Carlos Puyol.

You just put words in people's mouths and then use this for your arguments against nobody.

These are your exact words concerning Dawson in comparison the Delph (I have not put them in your mouth): "... a much better talent and much better player like Delph".

Now you follow it by saying that Maloney is better than Puyol, again "technically" I suppose. Well, technical or not, Maloney doesn't deserve to be mentioned in the same breath as Puyol: your statements become ever more ridiculous.

I don't want to get into a debate about this but Delph is a much better talent and much better player than Dawson in the sense that I'm talking about. For example, Dunne is not the best football player but he's great at defending.

As for Delph, just wait a couple of years, unfortuantely I don't see Delph being at Villa in 3 years time as clubs like Man City will be after him. That's how good he will be. Leeds fans rate Delph above players like Rose and Lennon.

  6. Dawson is good, no doubt about that, but not England standard for me and there are better, more reliable CBs for England. He just seems to get a bit carried away at times.

Eg. When Tottenham played Leeds in the FA Cup at WHL, in the last minute Beckford is going nowhere and Dawson needlessly hauls him down and concedes a last minute penalty which forces Tottenham into a replay.

  7. And I also echo what people are saying regarding Phil Thompson looking down on us as a club. On soccer saturday Merson is the only person who ever says positive things about Villa. Thompson thinks we're a club in the stature of Wigan or something like that.

This would be very similar to City hiring Platt as assistant manager. Citeh fans are furious about that.

  8. I'm not saying I wouldn't want him at Villa because he 'supports' Liverpool, more that I'm worried he may always talk about Liverpool like what MON did with Celtic and also that I would like a manager who really wanted to manage Villa, not necessarily just want to manage a club in the Premier League. Although this kind of manager isn't available.

If it is Houllier, I'd support him but I still would think we should get a different manager.

  9. On the talksport interview, the French correspondent mentioned that Liverpool is definitely 'his club' and always will be and that he'll always have a place in his heart for Liverpool. If that is the case, then I don't really want him. I don't want a manager who is at Villa just for money or just as a job. I want him to genuinely want Villa to achieve greater things.

And I'd also get fed up of Houllier constantly talking about Liverpool akin to how much MON talked about Celtic.

  10. Do the Villa fans still consider your defecne in general and Dunne to be good? I remember at the start of last season when Dawson was injured, that a number of you said our defence was shit and yours was much better and Dunne in particular was better than any of our defenders. The main argument to support this was that you'd conceded less goals. But seeing as since Dawson returned and played all our remaining games, our defensive record was better than yours and we also had less shots against us, what that makes of your great defence compared to ours? Dunne in particular seemed to make a lot of errors. It does seem fair to judge a defence on the amount of goals it concedes and given yours has become more leaky than ours and Dunne a particular seems to be a casue for this, does this mean you genrlly consider us to have the better set of defenders at them moment? Would any of your defence start for us?

If the stat involving the game Dawson has played is true, then I think a large part of it was because you had Palacios in front of him.

I don't really remember any error from Dunne last season.

And Dunne and Warnock would start for Tottenham, most definitely.

  11. I'm very worried about the reports that Houllier and KMac are being appointed as joint managers. Nearly every papers announce this as fact.

That would be a terrible choice IMO.

Houllier is shit! And he's 63 now, so he's far too old to build a dynasty under.

Houllier would be my last choice. I'd rather have Curbishley or Sven ahead of him.

  12. Every time he had played for Villa he has been our best player in the opinion of most Villa fans.

As much as the comment is obviously subjective, I really don't think Delph was our best player in ANY of the games he played in, in the opinion of the most of our fans either (if theres anyway to judge such nonsense)

I'd say a fairer comment was that Delph had showed signs in most of his performances that he could be a great player. Thats as far as its gone with Delph so far

Fair enough but whenever I saw Delph play, he bossed the games. Fiorentina, Man U at home and Bolton away spring to mind, with even the Fiorentina boss commenting on how he was the best player on the pitch.
  13. 6-8 weeks is nothing at all really.

Spurs fans were literally crying over his injury as if he had died.

When you consider than a much better talent and much better player like Delph is out for 9 months, Spurs got off lightly.

I'm sorry, but how is Delph a much better player than Dawson?

Dawson's an international defender who's a first team member of a Champion's League team who last season won the club's Player of the Year award.

Delph has played a handful of games for Villa and hasn't exactly had a Wilshere or Rodwell like impact in those games.

Don't get me wrong, Delph will probably turn into a brilliant player in a few years, providing he recovers well from the injury. But to say he's already a much better player than Dawson is ridiculous.

Well it's a lot harder to play in CM than CB. Okay then maybe I was being a bit harsh on Dawson.

But what I meant is he is 'technically a better player'.

For instance a player like Delph is more reliant on his legs than Dawson.

However you are wrong regarding Delph not having the impact Rodwell or Wilshere have had.

Every time he had played for Villa he has been our best player in the opinion of most Villa fans.

It's just MON's fault he hasn't played as much as he should have. If we had a young Messi in our squad, MON wouldn't have played him much.

  14. ... he was arrested for tax fraud recently, whether he was proved 'innocent' or not, it is still dodgy.

    ....

Everybody KNOWS that Redknapp is dodgy. It's not even worth going into a debate about.

Your comments just about sum up perfectly - and confirm - much of what I've said.

You've said that simply being charged with tax fraud makes him dodgy, regardless of whether or not he's found to be innocent.

You've also said that everybody just "knows" he's dodgy. I guess so - I mean, the twitch is such a dead giveaway - right?

So let's not bother with courts, judges, juries and evidence - let's just proceed straight to findiing him guilty regardless, preferably in front of a baying mob.

Sometimes I really do despair for the human race.

Well if he was arrested there must have been something going on.

For example, if a member of the public was arrested for murder and went to court but wasn't proven guilty. Would you welcome him back into the community with open arms?

You know that afterwards, you'd be cautious being around him and therefore think he was 'dodgy'.

It doesn't matter if he was actually 100% innocent, people are still going to judge and think he's dodgy.

If it was the other way round and Redknapp managed Villa, I'm sure you'd say he's dodgy.

Spurs fans are turning the problem into his twitch to deflect criticism of him.

I don't even know why you are debating whether he's dodgy or not. If Redknapp was Villa manager I would just admit that he is dodgy but say I don't really care that much as long as he's doing a good job. Which I am sure is the case with you but you are in denial about it and then make out that you 'despair for the human race' because they're not saying something you agree with, despite it being fact.
