  1. Your stadium looks really good!

It's good to see a team other than Porto win the Portugese league.

Villa have recently been linked with Falcao, how much d'ya reckon it will take for Porto to accept a bid?

  2. The apple talk just came about because some people were saying that it'd look good on our shirt.

I'd like Apple but I know it won't happen.

As long as we get a lot of money, I'm not too fussed about who the company is, just as long as it doesn't ruin the new villa top

  3. My view, which will an all likelihood get abused as it usually does on here after we play you ;)

Draw was probably just about a fair result in my eyes, but I am angry and disappointed that we couldn't hold out again. We spurned too many good situations and it cost us in the end.

Of course, you are all moaning about our "injuries", I think they were genuinely hurt (they dont go down and stay down often you know...), as you see Heitinga had to go off with an injury (he was a huge loss) and Pienaar got a hefty whack on his nuts from Young, which from my view looked very deliberate and nasty.

Ref was bad, I'm saying no more on that because I always end up talking about them.

Thought you would of learnt to mark Cahill after the 1st goal at least, one of the best attacking headers of the ball in the game (imo) and you give him 2 gifts like that! 2 more assists from Baines, doing himself no harm for a place at the WC.

I have literally just seen the foul for the first goal again, and it's a foul, he touches the ball with his knee but he's already brought Osman down.

Yakubu was crap, when he wants to be he is a quality player but tonight...horrible...Saha looked a lot more dangerous when he came on.

You'll probably jump on me for this too but can't help feel what might have been had either Arteta or Fellaini played, 2 hugely influential players (no doutbs I will get something about Fellaini only making us "even more dirty" ;)) who I feel would have made a real difference for us today.

Anyways, as I say, disappointed with the draw after being up, but in the end it is probably a fair reflection of the game.

Oh and your 2 goals were poor from our point of view, very defendable if we had got our act together. Howard made some good saves though.

You say the goals Everton conceded were bad, but the goals we conceded were terrible.

I didn't mind Everton before this game but I now hate them. Horrible, cheating, time-wasting bastards. Especially Baines and Neville who took about 2 minutes to take each throw in they had.

Oh and I didn't realise how much Pienaar dives. I remember Everton fans complaining about Young diving but Pienaar is just as bad. Very hypocritical.

  4. Milner was outstanding as usual

He was all over the pitch for 90 minutes

I thought Cuellar played very well. Was decent going forward and did well defensively. (He's not exactly going to be amazing going forward so I don't expect too much but he has improved going forward.) I think Cuellar playing right back has improved him a lot as a player. I think he's better technically now.

  5. Does anyone else kind of think that there's not much point in going to Wembley as the refs are always going to be against us. Of course we should still try next season but when I saw the penalty and Terry's tackle on the TV, I instantly knew that the ref would play on and that Terry wouldn't get a red. It's just so obvious and the FA need to change their principles.

I'm proud of the team as we played Chelsea off the park for most of the game and is the ref had some balls, we probably would have gone through to the final to face Pompey (where we would have been favourites to win).

I've also lost all respect for Chelsea and their players. For some reason they were my favourite top 4 team but with Terry as their captain I hate them from now on.

The sooner Jagielka or Lescott replaces Terry in the England team the better. Terry is the reason why I don't support the England team and I think most of the country are in the same position.

    Rant over, UTV

  6. A gambling company would be boring. Seems like half of the Premier League teams have gambling companies sponsoring them these days.

As has been said, you don't need to worry about that. Randy is no fan of gambling companies.

I suspect one of our other partners might step into the breach. Seat? Cisco Systems was a popular one a while back, do we still have ties with them?

Randy is no fan of gambling companies?

So why have we had two different "official betting partners" in the last two years?

Watch this space, you might be surprised.

    ITK?

I'm a director of an online gambling company.

Last month one of my business partners was in Hong Kong at a conference dealing with, amongst other things, sports sponsorship.

He was told by a couple of people who work in precisely that area that Villa's shirt sponsorship was being actively touted around online gambling companies - complete with price tag.

To suggest Randy has some ethical objection to gambling companies just doesn't stack up. For a start, his fortune came from the credit card industry upon which the entire online gambling industry relies. He's not going to be a stranger to that field.

Furthermore, as I said, we have had three official gambling partners since Randy has been here - 32 Red, Boylesports, and now 188 Bet. Boylesports had an AVFC branded portal to their sportsbook.

If there were an ethical objection, I am sure Randy would not have done either of the Boyles or 188 deals.

do you know how much Villa would get from a shirt sponsorship then? As an approximate figure?

  8. Agree with 4serious

    What has happened to Warnock?

Beye looked good and up for it against Chelsea.

My team for Bolton would be....

    Friedel

    Beye - Dunne - Collins - Young

    Downing - Milner - Petrov - Young

    Carew - Gabby/Fonz

We should rest Warnock and Cuellar. I think Warnock especially needs one.

Would be delighted with a win but I think we'll draw as we never seem to win at the Reebok stadium
