  1. Well shock horror, Lambert is still in a job and no players have come in and it is 3.5 days to go before our season goes from bad to worse.

This squad is so low on confidence and ideas that i cannot see us getting 30 points let alone 36. Presently we have not even managed an average of 1 point a game, so going on that, we could maybe manage 32 points if lucky.

If we do not beat Newcastle on tueday night we could be looking at 19th place come Weds night.

Then a trip to Everton leaving us 13 games to get sufficient points to stay up.

I really hope we do beat Newcastle as they have had low confidence lately, but look at the players they have signed, hopefully they will not gel to quickly.............hope, pray, etc.

PL has got to get someone in to instill some sort of confidence.

  2. He does seem to be made of Teflon  Last season it was down to the shit negative manager apparently. This season we spend £20m and it is all the owners fault for some fans, the manager remains blameless.

    It is truly baffling.

Baffling, i am so glad i didn't have the opportunity to watch it, because id be outside VP in the morning demanding a refund

  3. It will cost us about 6m.

Do you trust Lerner to go and find another manager?

If we got a new manager, it will be the same squad of players and yes, whilst we may have a honeymoon period, things will be the same.

Now's not the time to sack the manager.

I didn't agree with the Amc appointment but this guy has 9 lives, any other manager would be gone by now.

Utter disappear if this idiot stays

  4. Even if you consider the past, investing now is suicide for the club. Do any of you honestly believe this team has what it takes to stay up anymore? Investing now is more crucial than ever, it`s not only the manager even though he has shown nothing so far. I can`t understand how we can be so negligent, we are at the very least talking about a whole year in championship. That might even be harder than the challenge that we face now. If they really are so stubborn on the whole wage idea that they rather get relegated then he should get out. No matter how you look at it, premier league is run on money. Just look at the TV deal that is coming in, there is no other way to look at it. Not a fan of how big wages and transfers has become, but to start out a whole new platform in the top league is dangerous to say the least. I say **** him, he has ruined the club. Lambert was a good choice indeed, and was supposed to be a mark of a new era. Why not invest in it? Get redmond, get hughes if you have to, get some real talent at least. If you honestly believe shitty players like bennett, bowery, kea, bannan, holman and the list goes on are going to take us back to being a top 6 team you are negligent. This whole malevolent behavior from him is sickening, how he hides in america, how he doesn`t even come to a cup semi final...wtf is that? Sure, I don`t want a abramovitch either, but I want someone who realizes what the **** is going on, sees the problem and invests where it is needed. This team is one of the worst to grace villa park and we are just gonna go with it?

U can liken it to a long distance relationship,

    initially the butterflies,

    the nightly phone calls,

    the loved up period,

    then comes the middle part

starting to take each other for granted

    arguments

    fall outs

    not visiting as much

excuses not to travel as often

    ignoring each other

    and your then your binned..................

  5. Lets face facts, there isnt going to be a new signing, and there will be a mass exodus when/if we go down, think of that

Dont think the following would stick around: Bentekke, Bent, Ireland, Vlaar, NZogbia, Holman, Given, and Dunne.

You may say, ok that would reduce the wage bill, but look at the clubs who have disappeared into obscurity when relegated, Lambert is playing a dangerous game and risks losing attendances, fans and the club. Stick to NFL Randy.

  6. MOTM marking Zidane in the CL final. Had a good season but wanted to come back to Scotland, He's thought of highly there

If you read carefully what i wrote, 'he didn't settle', that translates into 'wanted to go back to Scotland', they remember him for the final yes, but he is no hero,

  7. I thought dortmund got shot of him after just one season? I didn't think he did too well in Germany. however i fail to see what his playing career has to do with his managerial career anyway. I wouldnt say he was world class, he was a pretty good player granted.

Been watching Dortmund since i moved here in 87', i remember seeing Lambert play, he was ok, but didn't settle and was described as distant and moody by fellow players, mmm, that hasn't changed.

  8. I think "Lamberts right way" is the same as most other clubs without a sugar daddy, buy the players and pay the wages you can afford to.

As for ostracising the expensive players, I am definately not ITK, I don't know what is happening behind the scenes. I generally believe there are reasons managers don't play certain players, whether they are financial, tactical or personality issues, I think if a manager believes a player could genuinly make a difference, they will play them. After all Lamberts job and the teams success is on the line.

Apart from Darren Bent, it doesn't seem that there has been any interest from other clubs in the likes of Warnock, Hutton, Ireland etc. As for certain players being sent to train with the reserves, perhaps he believes they are a negative influence on the first team squad at a time when confidence is fragile enough.

The "prima donnas" in the team, you can have all the plans but if a player is not interested or commited it won't work. As I say, I don't know what is going on internally, but I guess there are reasons for the players being pushed out.

Paul Lamberts style in interviews has generally been similar to the way it is now, he stonewalls and gives bland answers to questions, thats is what winds some of the press up, the opposite to someone like Harry Redknapp, which maybe why he gets a easier ride from some sections of the media.

At the end of the day, I feel we will be better sticking with him and seeing the tough times through, hopefully successfully, than sacking him.

Some good points there, but , if you have to face PL and his moody tendencies on a daily basis, do you think that would encourage you play to your maximum level.

From a psychological perspective he is emitting negative vibes that the whole club can feel. He has to go, IMO. Cant stand to see his miserable mug again.

  9. "It is believed Lambert would still stay in charge even if Villa drop down to the Championship with Lerner believing he would be the right man to take them back up after his double promotion exploits at Norwich"

    From the independent

Shit the bed.............how is that the answer, purposely going for relegation, Lerner please sell to the next big, deep pocketed Arab u meet.

Yanks know your limits stick to pissy NFL, NHL, NBA and oh MLS, have i forgotten one oh yeh, Randy FOASITUSA.

  10. The biggest problem we have had is expectation.

We expected PL to be an improvement on AMc.

    He isn't

We expected him to buy players to turn things around.

    He didn't

He expected the League 1/2 players he bought to work with his team plan

    Nearly did

We expected to be challenging further up the table

    We aren't

We expected to beat Bradford City easily

    We didn't

We expected that RL might put his hand in his pocket to save his"beloved" Villa

    How wrong we were

We expect to be in the Premier League next season

At this moment in time, expect the unexpected :ph34r:

  11. I think Paul Lambert should be given at east a full season. In reality, I thought this would be a season of struggle, survival being the aim.

If we had got to a cup final that would have been fantastic, but I wouldn't have expected it at the start of the season.

The problems have been there for at least the last 2 seasons, we have been struggling for a while. It won't be turned round overnight.

We were undone in the first leg, our achilles heel is set pieces, something lower league teams probably have as a significant strength. Yes we should have beat Bradford (no disrespect, good luck to them in the final). The substitutions did seem a gamble, but we were in a situation where I think he probably had to.

We can't compete with the top six clubs in financial terms, without Randy Lerner constantly covering the losses. The decision is the club has to stand on its own, like most other clubs in the league and Europe.

So we have to operate in a financially responsible way. There is no other choice. I hear the cries of Randy out, but realistically, who else is going to fund the club the way he has over the last few years.

Throwng a load of money on highly paid players won't solve the problem, at best it will move it down the road a little, but sooner or later the bill will have to be paid.

I believe there is money to spend in this window, but it may be difficult to get players who are better for the fee and wages we are prepared to offer.

I believe that Paul Lambert wants to do things in the right way, a sustainable way, I hope it works.

Anyway, this has rambled all over the place a little, but I think Paul shoud stay and, hopefully the improvements will come.

Please explain the Lambert right way

Does that include ostracising your clubs most expensive assets

Even if they are prima dona's you come up with a plan of how to get the best of them in a bad situation

Sending paid professionals to train with the your/reserve teams

Lamberts negative style is obvious, he seems like a bully, and is backed into a corner

Having the most uninspiring persona in interviews

Not being honest and leaving, when you are blatantly over your head.

  12. He shouldn't resign for going out to Bradford, as bad as it is. Roberto Martinez and Arsene Wenger didn't leave after getting knocked out by Bradford either.

It's league form which needs to determine Lambert's future.

Yeh and that is much better................

  13. Gabby! **** Gabby. He is shit and can **** off in his fancy car. He scores one goal every two months if your lucky and then faffs about. Was shit in 2nd half Baggies when we could've sealed it and useless today and you put him and Bent in front of Weimann. Unbelievable..

Chill, it was a suggestion, yeh Weimann could come off the bench 2nd half, the club isn't signing anyone new, so i quote "we go again"
